[up]The only gods Kratos didn't kill, iirc, were Aphrodite and..... I think that's it? [lol]

[up][up][up] Well that & they horribly screwed him over.

[up][up] Wait he killed Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Thanatos, Helios, Hephaestus, Ares, Hermes, Hera, Persephone, Gaia, Chronos. Hell he even killed most of the heroes like Hercules, Theseus, Perseus & monsters like 2 of the Gorgon sisters.

I think most of them are the cool ones.

[up] He also didn't kill Atremis, Apollo, Demeter & Dionysus.

I mean, the gods had also been corrupted by the Sins when Kratos opened Pandora's Box the first time, so pretty much everything after Aries died is on him, for the most part.

Greek gods in general are all about how you can't really constrain them with human morality.
Assuming that you were responding to my post... It's not an issue of morality, it's an issue of whether or not the deity in question would care so much about X. Aphrodite is the goddess whose domain encompasses beauty and sexual desire, not Athena; it stands to reason that the whole "get jealous over a mortal's beauty to the point of cursing said mortal" thing would be much more readibly expected from the former rather than the latter.

Except Athena was all too capable of being petty as shit too

Trojan War, Arachne, Tiresias, Medusa, etc

It doesn't really matter what you feel is appropriate for which deity because the myths themselves have every Olympian engage in dickery

Except maybe Hestia

In general, comparing someone favorably to a Greek God tends to end badly.

And, there are versions that it involves Poseidon having sex/raping Medusa in one of Athena's temples, and she attacked the one that she could actually hurt.

Wake me up at your own risk.

@Vicarious & Blueace: I wasn't saying she couldn't be petty. I'm saying that the reason for her pettiness is OOC for her. She's a goddess of strategic warfare, crafts, wisdom, diplomacy, poetry, medicine, commerce, and a great many other things, but none of them include anything pertaining to beauty, and the only other time she ever cares about her personal beauty is the Golden Apple dispute.

There isn't much stable characterization in greek myth anyway. There's no bible or canon, it's a collection of legends and stories that vary between regions, if not from city to city. Athena usually gets a really good rep because most of the knowledge we got of the time comes from around Athens.

[up]x8 (vicarious)

To be fair regarding the Tiresias incident (in the versions wherein Athena was the one who blinded him), way back when, Cronos set a divine decree that a mortal looking at a deity naked without their permission demanded punishment of some sort. Athena was just hasty with invoking such, and ended up stripping away the sight of a prepubescent boy (or, in one version I've heard, she was just trying to cover his eyes and accidentally went too far with it).

And then Tiresias' mom (who was bathing with Athena at the time) chewed the goddess out so intensely that Athena was ashamed of her actions and gave blessings to the boy in exchange for the sight she could not restore (it's either very difficult or straight-out impossible to undo a punishment enforced by the Erinyes).

And yeah, Hestia does seem to be the only one of the main Olympians who never engaged in any form of dickery against others (if you count the minor divinities on Olympus, you might find one or two more, but I'm not going through the list right now to be sure about that). Hell, I don't think Hestia was even involved in punishing Priapus after he tried to (but was caught before he could) give her the biggest pork injection in all of Greece while she was sleeping.

In the end, Hestia really only demands a few things... 1: Take care of your hearths. 2: Tend to sacred flames with care. 3: I claim dibs on the first share of any sacrifice to the gods.

So, I'm going though the H/A H scenes and Rin's is just hilarious.

Rin screwing up their date by breaking the air conditioner, and Shirou worrying about needing to do extra laundry is the best. Also the fact the high jump scene is referenced midway though.

Its odd though seeing Rin become more of a classical Tsundere.

Which oh my god is hilarious in small doses. Its almost worth sitting though the rest of the scenes.

I wonder if its because its HA, or because IIRC a different writer other than Nasu does them.

Also I forgot how irritatingly sexist the writing during the sex scenes is. Lines like "Taking charge like a man", "It wasn't that I couldn't do it by force" and the fact narration occasionally lapses into borderline sexual assault.

Actually compared to some of the other's (i.e Rin's UBW scene) it wasn't that bad.

Although I did learn Rin's sweat is mildly toxic from the potion she takes to ease her Crest. That's a pretty interesting tidbit.

[up]Type-MOON's sex scenes are still awkward, even with the different writer.

Also Rin's sweat being mildly toxic is interesting.

I always assumed that the multi-levelled weirdness of the sex scene writing was an integral part of the Type Moon VN experience.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot
