The Claire version. Simply beautiful. It has just the right mix of sincerity and melancholy. It ellicits such deep feelings, even more so in the context of the series… Sinatra's version is fine but more on the playful side.
And now for another trip back in time − to Belgium.
Jacques Brel - Ne me quitte pas (subtitles)

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. It's not much for the singing part, but Brel delivers the heartfelt desperation of a jilted lover perfectly well, 3/5.

Spiral out, keep going.: I happened to know of both versions already, so after taking the effort to divorce Claire's version of the track from its... interesting original context, I have to say I prefer Ole Blue Eyes' take. His feels so much more vibrant and lively, fitting for a track which is supposed to capture a sense of giddiness in love; the sedate melancholy of Claire's works as a send-off for Neon Genesis Evangelion, but not quite as well independently. 8/10 for Sinatra, 6/10 for Claire.
: I'm struggling to find anything to say about this, beyond just calling it decent rock 'n' roll that sounds assured enough. 6.5/10

Tastes better on the way back down.It sounds good, I especially like the instrumentation, but it went on way too long. 6.5/10.
35/100 - Sounds like an edgier Nine Inch Nails/Stabbing Westward esque industrial rock band with some meatier rhythms and darkwave esque vocal moments but its incredibly plain brooding staggered riff sparse verses leading into waves of floating background chords and triumphant chorus arrangements wears its pop structure appeal down in seconds.
The quiet buildup made me think this was entirely instrumental. But this is pretty good. 7.5/10.
It's telling that even on their weakest record, Deftones could use the music of most nu-metal bands to wipe their asses. The extremely simple riff on this track teeters on the verge of going full Slipknot, but skillfully avoids that chasm thanks to sludge-laden production, cathartic melodic choruses and a nice big helping hand from Chino Moreno's awesome voice. 9/10
Tastes better on the way back down.Minimalistic, barely-there musicbox instrumentation is nicely contrasted with sudden bursts of intense guitar riffs. Simple yet effective, 4/5.
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Kiss Them for Me
Spiral out, keep going.8/10. Pretty catchy song. I really like this. The music video is pretty cool as well.

Nas delivers as he always does with his flow and beat on an underrated track. 9/10.
A very nice balance of heavy grunge and softer, more melodic playing. Exactly the sort of alt-rock I like. 8/10.
Captures a very nice feeling of early 2000's nostalgia for me. I'm usually not a fan of punk or rock, but this song in particular has a very nice nostalgic feeling for a genre I'm not even really familiar with.
LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"Danceable rhythmic section, but 80's-style synths get grating during the song's nine minute run, 3/5.
"Megalovania (Undertale OST)"
The piano arrangement by ChrystalChameleon
The violin cover by Taylor Davis
Review either.
Potentional spoilers for Undertale.
Spiral out, keep going.Reviewing the original, giving it a 8/10: there's a reason it became such a meme, and it's because it goes incredibly fucking hard. Great battle theme.
Jon Hassell and Brian Eno - Chemistry
Another green world. It's kind of hard to believe those echoing alien drones were once the sound of a trumpet, isn't it? It's a bit predictable in the end - there's a looping tribal beat, Hassell does his thing over it, repeat - but the overall sound is unique enough to keep my attention. 7.5/10
Joy Division - Day of the Lords
Tastes better on the way back down.3/10. After a decent beginning, the song just wondering around aimlessly with absolutely no climax or progression.
Gloria Gaynor - "I Will Survive"

6/10. Disco is okay, but not something I can really enjoy in my opinion.
Intense and epic battle theme, but fails to stand on its own, 2/5.
Kim Young Im - Jeongseon Arirang
Spiral out, keep going.5/10. It's pretty, but it goes on for a little too long in my opinion. It felt like kind of a chore to get through.
Michael Jackson-Man In the Mirror
Pretty standard MJ song, in good and in bad ways. His voice is awesome obviously, the rythm catchy and it has a good message (albeit a little naive). But it's kinda dragged down by MJ's slightly annoying singing tics and the fact it's simply too long and repetitive. So I'm mixed on that one.
Ohnuki Taeko - Peter Rabbit to Watashi
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.
Quirky, jazzy instrumentation over a nice piano beat with rather high-pitched vocals, 4/5.
"Fly Me to the Moon":
The Frank Sinatra version
The Claire version (Neon Genesis Evangelion OST)
Review either.
