Context I'm sure will be important. I think the company may be smart enough to have prepared for trolls and fake-outs.

I just hope this catches on. I heard about the fighting game tournament sexual harrassment scandal, and it really repulsed me how the sole female member of the team was treated by the head of the team. That is the sort of behavior we need to toss out of gaming.

I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones!

Halo 4 team, you have my respects. Good for you. S'bout time someone in an actual authority position started sending the message that this sort of crap is Not Okay.

Completely unrelated: Some games have completely bizarre difficulty curves. Crystal Monsters, that weird, cheap little D Si Ware RPG I was playing, suddenly decided to ramp itself up so that my totally overpowered team (you level up a bit too fast in that game) suddenly has some sidequests that are decently difficult for it. I've been trying to swap party members around so I don't end up with just one set of ludicrously strong guys, but I can probably go back to my standard dudes now without fear.

I think I'm a little spoiled by the excellent curving in Monster Racers, t'be honest.

Can I control the main character? Yes. Can I interact beyond simply pushing buttons when prompted? Yes. Does the reaching of the end rely entirely on my skills as a player? Yes.

Is this a game?

Yes.

Though that is a criticism I've heard before.

In fact I'd go so far as to say it's something the game is infamous for.

And it's completely true. The game-to-cutscene-ratio is completely fucked up. MGS 4 is not even that long, which means there is really not much to play.

It's still good either way (What little I played, anyhow).

Exactly. No matter how big "percentage" of cutscenes it's got, it's still a really excellent game. The gameplay is seamless and creative, and I absolutely fell in love with all the different paths, side-paths, solutions and opportunities. Not to mention the inventiveness involved with the items and collectables and the wide array of weapons.

So me and one of my buddies are doing a game exchange program... thing. Basically, we send each other hard-to-find or obscure games we think the other might enjoy. I sent him Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors and Contact, and he's sending me The Last Story and some mystery second game. This gon' be good.

Just saw that Shadow Warrior is finally out on GOG. I made a sensible and well-considered decision and bought it immediately (and Redneck Rampage, since it fits and it's pretty cheap due to the Interplay promo).

Really, my reaction can be accurately described with "FUCK YEAH!" Along with Blood, it's one of the best Build Engine games and one of my favorite FPS. Until now, I only had a pirated version without music. This one is a legal version with music (at least, I expect it to have music) and even a downloadable soundtrack.

The only problem is that I can't download it at the moment. While it won't be long until I can, I really hate waiting for such a great game. Damn, I don't want to wait, I want to play with Wang now!

Yes, that was bad, but at least I didn't quote the "wash Wang" speech.

Speaking of Redneck Rampage, I've been playing it.

Fuck the sewer level, by the way.

The second game ended up being Metal Arms Glitch In The System. Which I've been playing.

So I somehow Oo B'd myself in the tutorial level. Fun game, but slightly shaky physics are slightly shaky.

I forgot how primitive the controls for Shadow Warrior were. Arrow keys for movement, and no mouse aiming up or down? And that glorious 320 x 200 resolution. Gah!

I think U turns mouse aiming on. And I think you can launch the Setup mode from the relevant folder.

Mouse aiming doesn't work in Build games as it does in modern games (that are actually made with mouse aiming in mind).

There is some kind of source port, which supports full mouse aiming, though, like there is for Duke Nukem 3D.

It also supports higher resolution (although SW is normally able to go up to 640X480 by itself, if you set it up in the setup).

Man, Okami is fun. Glad I decided to get the HD version. Even though I have the PS 2 one sitting in my wardrobe, it's fun to boot up the new version like it's a whole new game. It's just as fun as I remember it.

I guess we could go... wherever we please.
