Because having breasts means you can control a man's libido.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyWhat exactly is the libido? Reminds me of the appendix. Which in turn reminds me of the index (of a book). *

♥♥II'GSJQGDvhhMKOmXunSrogZliLHGKVMhGVmNhBzGUPiXLYki'GRQhBITqQrrOIJKNWiXKO♥♥No, it's having atypically large breasts, not just the breasts themselves.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Only in fiction, DQZ.
Wizard Needs Food BadlyThis is about fiction. Did you even look at the comment I was replying to?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Which comment would that be? There are five above that post, and the next ones before that had already been rreplied to...
They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?Lots of tropes apply to only part of a population of characters. Saying that this must be expanded to cover all women with large breasts is like saying that any breed of dog must be allowed to enter a breed show for chihuahuas. The fact that there are others doesn't mean they have to be included.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it."I love how most people refer to the very nature of having breasts to be a power in itself. And most of those people are men. Most female tropers, when they use the term super power, usually sound like they're using it as sarcasm."
That was the comment I replied to, and I now realize I read it wrong the first time. Oops.
As for this trope, does it apply to villains as well?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.@DQZ- Yep. All women with powers that have large breasts fit this trope. They don't necessarily have to be on the good side. They don't have to be Flying Bricks either. If someone's power is "Super Lung Capacity," it would fit here, if as a Justified or Lampshaded example.
They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?Now what about the Badass Normals?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The Nostalgia Chick quote doesn't really fit either. This trope is about big breasts, not jusy being hot.
I guess it is.Took it off. Again, what about Badass Normals?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Could heroic s be considered a superpower?
♥♥II'GSJQGDvhhMKOmXunSrogZliLHGKVMhGVmNhBzGUPiXLYki'GRQhBITqQrrOIJKNWiXKO♥♥I'd say they don't qualify. Even though they are usually considered superheroes, it's easier to just draw a line and say "this only applies to characters with superpowers".
I guess it is.But if someone like Batgirl and Catwoman have large breasts without superpowers, that would mean it's just that comic artists like to give any adult costumed woman large breasts.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It doesn't say that ONLY superheroes have big breasts. It doesn't apply to non-super females, human or otherwise.
Brush up on your logic, DQZ: "All A is B" gives you no information whatsoever at all about C.
"All A is B" does not mean "B causes A".

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.DQZ, you seem extremely adamant to change the name of this trope, even though almost every single other troper is for keeping it (including me: it's memorable, it's witty, and, even though it doesn't outright say that it's about breasts, it sticks in the mind). Is there some reason or are you just being ornery?
I'm not trying to be mean, it just seems sometimes you go too far with renaming arguments.
"Brush up on your logic, DQZ: "All A is B" gives you no information whatsoever at all about C."
Brush up on what I wrote. I was discussing if actual comics included that.
And aliterator, just because I still say it needs a rename doesn't mean I'm pushing for it. But "witty" isn't a reason to keep a trope name.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Also: witty is one of several standards we have for keeping names. The others are being clear and concise, both of which I think Most Common Superpower has (the clearness is subtle, though).

"Actually, it does."
No, you're just interpreting it that way.
You seem to have a bias for witty over clear, so I wouldn't put your stock in that (don't assume that means I'm pretending to be the best on renames).
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It is clear. While it does not have "Big Breasts" right in the title, the mere fact that it's most misused as a Unusual Euphemism for big breasts means people get it's about women with big breasts... I mean just look at the first post of the previous topic...
Because the examples in there are a big confusing and the description doesn't really clear things up any.
See? People get it's about big breasts. It's the "Superpower" part we are having trouble with and that's actually in the freakin' name of the trope. Whatever the problem the trope has, it's not the name.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyAnd that's why right now I'm interested in getting the parameters of the trope clear.
Does it apply to any women in costume in comics? Not that it won't change the name, just that we can establish the trope clearly.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I'd say it would apply to costumed women in comics if those women have something that sets them apart from ordinary people, like grappling hooks the size of powder-your-nose-thingies.
I laugh in the face of suffering. In that case, the name really does apply, since it would mean even if she doesn't have powers, she has big melons.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
I love how most people refer to the very nature of having breasts to be a power in itself. And most of those people are men. Most female tropers, when they use the term super power, usually sound like they're using it as sarcasm.
