Hrm.... no matter how many tropes one throws at it, I'll never be convinced that she's not a total [CENSORED] who deserved everything she got and then some.

Finally cleared Turn 8!

I did not get the loot drop I wanted!

[up][up]No argument there. Can't definitively say she's any better or worse than the rest of the Garleans though.

Though her obsession with Gaius and the way it's written (and/or dubbed) is what I hate most about it. It comes off as "oh, you thought she was an evil badass? Surprise, she's a clingy whiny [CENSORED], and oh, her boss fight mechanics are pretty lame".

She can't be both the Dark Mistress and Dark Action Girl? [lol]

I'm more concerned with where Gaius went wrong raising her, I mean Cid turned out great. Maybe it was the incest [lol]

Oh, I forgot he raised Cid too...

And, I'd be fine with her being both if it was written better. The way they did it just made me cringe. As it is, it's not even clear what Gaius thinks of her.

The only bit of dialogue between Gaius and Livia that has stuck in my mind is during one of the final missions, when Gaius is dishing out orders to his lieutenants, then when he gets to Livia, he just says "My quarters, one hour," or something like that. And now you're telling me he raised her? Weird. I missed that part I think, though I think I've said before that I haven't really paid close attention to the story here.

You're excused; It's All There in the Manual. Even that is light on detail.

Honestly, the only issue I have with coil is that I can understand it being for statics, and people who want to run a static. But then can we..I dunno, not put any of the main plot behind coil progress as I'm pretty sure some of it is?

For what it's worth, the plot arc of Coil is all about "what happened five years ago". While it's important, being the fate of Louisoix, it doesn't affect any of the official Main Scenario stuff. It's about to get eclipsed by Heavensward, which I understand is the continuation of the original 1.0 plot plans.

( <—- left off being stuck on Turn 6)

Yes, the coil is there to wrap things up that 1.0 left behind, but the issue here is many players still want to find out what happened since they weren't there when 1.0 got shut down and the main 2.0 story somewhat skims over what happened 5 years ago.

Just finished up the Coerthas section of the main story. Anyone else hoping Heavensward has an option to side with the dragons and burn that theocratic self righteous shithole to ashes?

If it's any consolation, you meet some more less shitty Ishgardians in the patch storylines. But there's definitely no illusions about the Ishgardians being the source of many of their own problems.

All of House Fortemps are basically bros, though. The house captain you deal with most of the time, I can't remember his name, basically becomes a fanboy of you.

Ironically, Midgarsormr calls you out on being a tool that follows others and hints at how you don't really do what's right as much as what you're told, and than "joins your party" so to speak after the fact, so there could be story precedent for it.

It won't happen though unless Heavensward introduces changes to the way the storyline's handled.

Double posting because I saw a few people on Massively whining about how Setzer's coat was a male exclusive outfit, while the bunny outfit was female. Turns out that's not true at all for the former. Rather the latter's female exclusive, though, remains to be seen (but most likely will be.) I wonder if there'll be a male equivalent or if that'll just be one of those strange things.

Nice one :D

Just last night I decided I can't be bothered trying to get a two-way Novus infusion, it's going to take too damned long. I'm going to do the remaining infusions with a third stat so I can just move on.

You can actually restat the relic later. Just buy a fresh scroll, talk to the zodiac guy and he'll turn it into an exact copy of what you put on your relic. Then one of the people near the materia goblin can de-infuse one stat at a time, allowing you to make adjustments while also working on the later stages of the relic.

I knew you could respec, but I wasn't sure if you could do it at any time. If you can do it after actually completing the Novus or later stages, then great :)

Pretty much once you have Novus, you can redo your stat at any time no matter what your relic is.

If you do chocobo racing, you will learn to hate the Briars. They're worse than the infamous Spiny Shells in Mario Kart. Drains a chunk of your stamina, it's AOE, and it can stack if multiple people use the item at once. Oh and if you're in a narrow path when the item is used, GG.
