that twisted humor is there bcuz Rin is the scriptwriter...
I'm the spark that makes your idea bright. The same spark that lights the dark, so that you can know your left from your rightI like the humor, and some of the stuff in there (especially with Hanako) *is* downright heartwarming, and WAFF-y.
There is no higher ground than high orbit!I finally finished act one. Or, one of the arcs, anyway. Shizune ending. I actually quite like her. Yeah, bossy, but I guess that's part of her charm. And there's the sweet side.
But apparently I've still only got 58% completion. Lame.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.had a manly picnic yet?
I'm the spark that makes your idea bright. The same spark that lights the dark, so that you can know your left from your rightWhen is the sequel?
Also, the Shizune ending was the least subtle of them all ("maybe I'm falling in love"? What are you, a grade student?), and the Rin one was the most physical.
What's interesting is that Hisao's personality changes depending on your choices. Not as a consequence of what happens, but retroactively. Interesting way to turn AFGNCAP on its head.
One interesting thing I'm learning from this game and Ace Attorney is how liberating it is to make comments that are as snarky as possible on people in your head, with the infinite satisfaction of knowing they will never find out about the horribly hyperbolic witty insults you hurled at them, especially when you know you're being unfair and not "really" thinking what you are thinking. Whoever said Keeping Secrets Sucks? It's damn liberating, that's what it is!

I think what is happening is that each path has it's own scriptwriter, so Hisao changes slightly between each writer, which is kinda to be expected. The Hisao one writer perceives is always going to be a little different from another writer's perception.
So some of Hisao's changes, rather than from being Character Development, come from a change of writer.
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listIn a way, one might be able to consider that a form of Character Development?
I think it makes sense, actually. On the one hand, he'd have to be a different kind of person to want to hang out with and generally get along with the different groups of people. On the other hand, choosing to hang out with different people can, in a way, influence one's own behavior. It works both ways, I think.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I've introduced two friends to the game. I feel like a real fan now.
WHO IS THIS LOSERThat might be the case, but I'm pretty sure they could coordinate his past and come to a general consensus on his personality if they were concerned with doing so.
If he does have a Multiple-Choice Past, he wouldn't be the first one. You can answer questions about the past of Persona 4's protagonist, and the veracity of your answers is never questioned. If you say you have experience playing a musical instrument, or basketball, or football, then you do, and the results of your experience are apparent to others.
Being able to determine a character's qualities retroactively seems to me to be a perfectly legitimate way to develop a player character, since it ensures that whatever you do, you remain consistent with the nature of the character as they have developed over their entire life so far.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.I think it's a neat idea. I was just reading today a little article that Yahtzee wrote on a similar idea he had (and abandoned) where the choices you made actually determined things like the setting and what was even going on to being with:
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Of course then he gave up because he realized with horror that he was writing a Visual Novel.
Yep pretty much. He's not exactly fond of Japanese-type media stuff. Although he's not entirely averse to it either - I remember in the pilot for that one gaming show thingamajig that didn't get launched he declared himself the indifferent one on the subject of anime, while one of the other hosts said they loved it and the other one said they didn't like it.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.^^^
I guess Ben Croshaw will be Ben Croshaw. That idea actually sounded really interesting.
Besides, visual novels aren't what I would call inherently Japanese. As long as your characters don't look like generic shonen rejects and you're not throwing tits and sex scenes everywhere, who gives a damn?
In all honesty, if I had any confidence in my writing skills, I'd be stealing this idea for myself.
Oh, and you don't have to pothole to Buffy Speak every time you say something like "wordy-type-thing" or "vidya-game-doo-hickey".

I'm the spark that makes your idea bright. The same spark that lights the dark, so that you can know your left from your rightUse @@[= and =]@@ around the code to keep it from parsing.
Though you might want to add linebreaks in the CSS selectors to keep the page from going wide.
And that seems to belong in the Durarara!! thread.

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.I found it a few days late, but it still made me smile. Especially the editted Higurashi scenes.

Is that The Brave Little Toaster? WHAT
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. So, uh, once they make this into an eroge, will it involve necrophilia due to the protagonist's heart condition? That may also be the only way for him to get an erection.

It's actually pretty straightforward and respectful and nice, if with a bit of a twisted sense of humor.
