That's one of the biggest cases of Mundane Made Awesome, Mundane Utility, and just plain overkill I've ever seen.

Seems like all the bosses got remodeled to include Majora's Eye on them somewhere. Interesting.

For reference:

  • Odolwa has one on the back of his head.
  • Goht has one on its back.
  • Gyorg has one in its mouth.
  • Twinmold has one but I'm not sure where exactly. I just know that it shows up at some point during the battle.

It's a neat effect. The eyes are what make both the mask and the moon so iconic, after all.

I sure said that!

The only place I can think of where Twinmold would have an eye is on their heads or on their tails.

So I've been playing through Oracle of Ages and I think I need to clear the Goron Dance on Platinum in order to access the next dungeon.

Fuck.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

im stuck on that exact part, and i remember wiki-ing the real solution a few months back (i just havent gathered up the motivation to go back) but after you get the first mermaid key from the goron dance you never have to do another goron dance again. you need to finish the trading sequence to get a 2nd mermaid key.

s'just a matter of finding the right fucking npc, which i fail every single time.

damn straight.

the goron dance is the minigame in which i learned my gameboy color is fucking invulnerable and cannot be destroyed under any circumstances.

god knows i tried back then.

[up]Pretty much, I think my wall took more of a dent than my GBA did after I couldn't clear that for a month.

Nintendo handhelds can take a crapton of punishment, that's for sure.

Though I was positive you had to clear the event twice, once in the past and once in the future. There's a way around one of them?

At least the event in Seasons can be skipped, you don't need the L-1 Boomerang to get through the game.

uh, according to the wiki the only thing you need from the goron dance is the brother emblem. all other rewards for the dancing past and present are rupees, gasha seeds and magical rings.

so yeah. one mermaid key from...the other minigames? and then the other from the trading that gets moving around this point in the game.

you can get the brother emblem in the past or the present, by the by.

oh...wait...

"The Mermaid Key is also obtained through a side-quest. Where the Target Carts mini-game is in the present, in the past there is the Goron Shooting Gallery, much like the shooting gallery in Lynna Village.[11] If Link achieves a score of 100 points or more, he will receive the Lava Juice as a prize.[12] Next, in a cave near the summit of Rolling Ridge, Link will meet a Goron who happens to be an acquaintance of the Graceful Goron.[13] If Link already has the old version of the key, the Goron will tell him that it is the Graceful Goron who owns the Mermaid Key. In exchange for the Lava Juice, the Goron will offer to introduce Link to the Graceful Goron with the Letter of Introduction.[14] Once it is shown to the Graceful Goron, he will agree to give Link the Mermaid Key, but only if Link proves himself by matching his skills in a dancing contest. Once this is done, Link will be the proud owner of both Mermaid Keys, leaving Mermaid's Cave waiting for him. "

...nooooooo

just booted the game up to finish the trading sequence as mentione. -facepalm- i literally walked past the goron a dozen times because you have to talk to him twice before he reacts to your key and lava juice.

Funny, the Goron dancing minigame wasn't that difficult for me, but the Subrosian conga line in the other game gave me a little more trouble.
