That blood swipe is tacky as fuck. Does he reapply it every day after bathing? Does he ever wash his face? When it rains, or when he goes for a swim, does it wash off? Whose blood is it?
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."I don't think it's actually blood, just some sort of waterproof cosmetics.
Dwarves get their brands a lot of beards.
It was a difficult delivery, now it's growing up mean and strong.Even the lady dwarfs have beards. :D
Well, they have stubble. I don't remember them having actual beards.
So are the World of Thedas books and novels worth buying? I was maybe possible considering buying them, but I dunno.
It was a difficult delivery, now it's growing up mean and strong. It's all lore stuff. By it if you want.
The earlier DA books are poorly written dreck. Gaider's especially are bad. I prefer Last Flight. It's written by someone outside the DA writing team, and an actual author of her own original fantasy.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."I thought Last Flight was Mass Effect Deception come again. Plus having a writer form outside the Bioware team leads to things like the main character screwing a Qunari centuries before they arrive in Thedas, though maybe he was just that much of a pimp.
I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom. That's a huge exaggeration. Mass Effect Deception had dozens and dozens of continuity errors, while Last Flight has perhaps two. And the Qunari thing can be explained by Garahel meeting Qunari before their people arrived in force. It's canon that the ogres in the Darkspawn horde were birthed from broodmothers that had once been part of a Kossith colony in the Korcari Wilds.
Having a writer from outside the Bio Ware team means that you actually have someone who can write prose. Gaider fails hard at that. Check out this passage from The Stolen Throne. Emblematic of Said Bookism.
"“Maric dug into his stew ravenously. Katriel picked at hers gingerly, sipping on some of the broth. The dwarf all but gulped his down greedily, finishing it long before the others were even half done, and then belching loudly."

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."My rankings of the DA novels:
- The Masked Empire: Briala is the best. Weekes is brilliant and I am really glad that he is lead writer now.
- Last Flight: I went in worrying that this would be Deception 2.0. But the novel turned out to be really damn good.
- The Calling: The Architect is a fascinating villain and there were a lot of really good moments. Unfortunately, Gaider has this really grating narration style that drags the book down.
- Asunder: Cole and Evangeline were great, but Rhys was a really forgettable protagonist and Adrien and Lambert were too one-dimensional. Again, Gaider's grating narration style drags the book down.
- The Stolen Throne: The novel is basically half complete because Gaider struggled to meet his deadline. Also, Gaider's writing style.
Which was the book that goes more into Loghain's backstory and Alistair's dad?
The Stolen Throne.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Stolen Throne. Loghain's probably the best part of that book.
That's not really saying much, though.
Here's a review of the first book that I feel best encapsulates my own opinion.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."In other things that bug me, Inquisition keeps assuming that Sera is an archer and Cole has daggers, even when I turn Cole into a ranged assassin and Sera into a melee backup tank, and even when the game gives you no incentive to spec them differently.
Poultices are hard to use in the heat of battle too, but that didn't stop our characters from drinking them in Origins.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.@Khantalas: I'm fairly certain they both at least come with an initial weapon set that belies their intended combat role, even if they don't have points in those things.
And, I don't know about Cole, but Sera does like arrows. A lot. So you shouldn't be surprised.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Sera does like arrows, yes, even when she isn't allowed their use in actual combat situations.
At least they aren't as bad as Solas, who is apparently most associated with fire spells, even though he starts with Winter's Grasp and Barrier instead of any fire spells.
So it turns out Revive Kills Zombie in Inquisition.
Probably hinting at the Deep Roads DLC.
...are we gonna fight ogres?
Please tell me we're gonna fight ogres.
((Khan, why do you care, you don't even have a current-gen console.))
Orges could be put into the game without a real issue. They only need to reskin the Pride Demons.
Dalish at least get those neat tatoos (Yea yea, slave markings and whatnot) and Mages get their tattoos. Never played a Dwarf, so no clue if they get anything specific to them.
Also, playing a Mage!Hawke. Joined Mercenaries this time, normally I do the Smuggler job.
