Content Violations Review: Anime.Kite

Currently, examples from this OVA are limited only to the censored general release. I don't know why - Sawa's young, yes, but she's not THAT young. I therefore propose we begin allowing examples from the explicit 18+ release.

Firstly, when I checked the page out it turned out there was a film with the same name with the YMMV and trivia pages mixed up, so I disambiguated the anime at Kite (1998).

And looking at the tropes, the sex and rape ones are already there so I don't think there's much more to restore. These points under Nausea Fuel are more suspicious:

• The sex scenes between Sawa and Akai. Not helping matters is that Sawa is 14.
• The flashbacks during the sex scenes mentioned above showing Akai raping a much younger Sawa during her childhood.

Is there any confirmation that Sawa is 14? Secondly, how explicit are these scenes in both versions? They seem to be played for drama and not titillating though...

I haven't seen Kite, but it's by the same production company that did Mezzo Forte and its sex scenes are very explicit, so I have no reason to think Kite's sex scenes are tamer.

But Mezzo Forte already allows examples from its 18+ version. What made Kite different enough that the 5P would disallow examples from its 18+ release, especially considering the 5P was also responsible for the complete restoration of Mezzo Forte?

Just as I suspected, the main problem was with the flashback scene. Now the question is if it was pandering or played for horror.

I've seen the uncensored version. We're not missing much by not troping the sex scenes: they're like 5% of the OVA and don't add anything useful besides an example for Coitus Uninterruptus.

In this forum thread of ANN they mention that there are two versions with the sex scenes: Director's cut and Special. The difference is that the former excludes the potentially paedopandering scene. So I'm leaning towards keeping Director's cut.
