I'm glad I picked this up a few days ago, so I can do my part to protect Managed Democracy!

But yeah I'm having a fucking blast with this game.

I think just like yelling slogans and being obvious to any sorts of logic or arguments TBH

Now have my meme vaguely-related to my statement.

This fanbase is disturbingly good at genocide.

Not really, then the wars would be over, wouldn't it?

Both the Automatons and Termanids are attacking now with 5 planets under seige.

Objective is to successfully defend 10 planets across 5 days.

Given how the last defense GO went, I'm not optimistic about our chances.

That being said, the fact both attacks are happening simultaneously implies some degree of coordination between the two groups.

The plot thickens...

In before the Illuminate has been indirectly pushing the other factions into dogpiling Super Earth so that they can step in and take advantage of the spread-out Helldivers.

I named my ship the SES Emperor of Mankind, but I was disappointed that it wasn't possible to name it the Litany of Litany's Litany.

Here's a message from the Discord community manager, apparently this MO is specifically designed to be unwinnable.

I know Helldivers 1 was a top down view that played like a twin sticks hooter, but what was the meta game like? I know there was a map of the galaxy and you'd campaign to defeat the three factions, but I'm not even sure if this was a single player thing and each individual played until their version of the galaxy was liberated, or if it was like Helldivers 2 and everyone was working together on a single map shared by everyone.

In Helldivers 1 everyone worked together on the same map but after a faction won (either super earth or one of the enemy factions) the map was reset at the war started over. For 2 they are going for a longer war telling a story, including having a game master to control the overall war.

Side note: the Op is supposed to be unwinnable not incompleteable. it's possible, though difficult, for us to win enough defenses to complete the op, but we will still lose ground. And specifically lose a ton of ground on the automaton front because there's a larger front defended by fewer players.

Thank you, though, follow up question: How many times did Super Earth achieve victory and cause the war to start over, and how long did it take for Super Earth to achieve victory in an average cycle?

The campaign cycles were significantly shorter, somewhere around 60 days. If an enemy faction was eliminated, they were permanently removed from the map, and total victory was achieved when all three factions were defeated. Afterwards, the campaign map would be reset.

[up] X5 There's no need to talk about Helldivers in the past tense. The game is alive and well even after almost 10 years.

It's not about the gold; it's about the glory.

[up][up][up] I mean, it's pretty clearly not meant to be a Guilt-Free Extermination War no matter what the higher ups of Super Earth claim.

There's a new major order. Liberate the planets Choohe or Penta. Whichever one is liberated first will determine which new strategem is unlocked. The former gives the Anti-Tank Mines and the latter gives the Airburst Rocket Launcher.

Oh, and saving civilians too I guess.
