Just wondering - should we add a comment with a link to this thread to the top of the Snoot Game works page??
It would encourage good faith edits to come via here first, and might deter some bad faith one’s entirely.
If they are editing in bad faith already I doubt that would deter them. It is still a marvelous idea, because that would deter people who edited in good faith but didnt know about the hatefulness of the work.

How about this:

If it works well, this feels like something we should consider for future page-specific cleanup threads.
On the YMMV page, there's an entry entirely in a note, which feels wrong. Don't think it requires too big of a change though.
- That One Puzzle: Those fucking cables.explanation
- At VVURM DRAMA's first real concert, Anon trips over the stage's cables and mentions it's a hazard to Trish, who ignores him and says Reed knows what he's doing, with the player getting the choice between fixing the cables or leaving them as is. It's one of the more morally ambiguous choices in the game, as while you're told the building you're in is incredibly ancient and likely not safely wired, Reed has been shown to be good with technology despite being The Stoner, and by this point the player should know to trust the band. This makes it very likely that a player who doesn't know wouldn't pick the right option, leaving the cables as is, causing many players to suddenly get a worse ending in response. In the initial release of the game the scene was bugged, meaning that regardless of the choice you make, the game would only ever play the scene you get for not touching the cables, leading to many players getting the bad endings by mistake.
Is fixing the cables supposed to be the right option? The wording is confusing.
I dont know but having the answer would be Walkthrough Mode and we dont want that. And I dont want whomever's reading get a "happy ending" where the Non-binary character detransitions anyway.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Thinking about it, it sounds less like a puzzle and more like a Telltale-esque choice?
Should we add Spiritual Antithesis? The difference between an antithesis and a parody is that an antithesis can stand on its own. Given that it's several hours of story based off a trailer, I feel like this game has grown beyond its anti-inspiration, however badly it has grown.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Troper rikusouleater has just deleted a block of text - no edit reason, no discussion page posts and nothing here (looks like they've never posted in forums).
Deleted text:
Notifiers (edit reason, ignored comment) sent - is this a straightforward case of putting it back? Looks that way to me.

You could have explained what the text was in case we cant follow the link. It's actual policy and they seem to have deleted the criticism parts of the description.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Yes, given that a moderator previously restored that very paragraph citing thread consensus after someone else removed it, they're clearly just in the wrong.

Trans rights are human rights. How’s this rewrite for the cables puzzle to condense it a bit?
Like Skyla above, I am not convinced (from the original write-up, which is all I have to go on) that this is even a puzzle.
That's not even a puzzle, just a single choice.
I think it might fit under another trope, however, it doesn't sound like a puzzle to me.
That sounds fair.
It sounds like it counts to me.
I implemented the Shallow Parody rewrite. Forgot to do it earlier.

Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?Edited slightly for further context about the circumstances Snoot was developed under (Volcano High having been in Development Hell at the time with no release in sight).
Looking at it I think the last sentence might not be entirely necessary or even accurate; the fact that Volcano High's story was overhauled doesn't make Snoot's parody elements any more or less outdated IMO since Snoot's parody elements barely had anything to do with Volcano High's story in the first place — it was pure mockery of the perceived melodramatic tone and "SJW" devs without any regard for what Volcano High was actually about beyond "dinosaur high school"
EDIT: Also reworded the laconic and trimmed some gushing on the trivia page about the final game being "much deeper" than originally intended.
DOUBLE-EDIT: Aaaand went ahead with the That One Puzzle -> Guide Dang It! move discussed above. The other two bullets on Guide Dang It! could use a glance for general Repair, Don't Respond issues. Also as a general observation, I'm starting to get the impression somebody here's gonna have to actually play this thing (or at least binge playthroughs of it) in order to accurately assess a lot of this article's contents.

I added the last sentence about the parody being outdated on top of being based on scarce pre-release details because it’s an additional piece of the game being a Shallow Parody. Edit: The guide dang it entry says that both fixing and leaving the cables alone are wrong answers. Also I’m not wasting my time playing homophobic propaganda made by 4Chan

As I stated earlier, user reports go in Ask The Tropers. Let's focus on cleaning up Snoot Game on this thread.
