Well, what would be a good image that doesn't look like fan art or manga because Doujinshi looks the same as the previous two.
Mine-kun Is Asexual by Uta Isaki has a "Doujinshi" sticker at the bottom right corner.
Maybe? But it still doesn't make it clear for those unfamiliar with the term how it differs from any other manga.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.In cases like this, it can be carried by a caption. I don't think we can make it clearer than either a Doujinshi in another work (which doesn't show a real Doujinshi and often just parodies Yaoi) or a pic from a real Doujinshi with a blatant Doujinshi label.
I actually can think of an exception we could use, from The Geek Ex-Hitman, but it'll take me a bit to find the image in the scanlation.
I don't really mind the current, it at least shows someone reading it and the more informal con atmosphere that tends to be associated with self-publishing. A manga claiming to be a doujin and then the caption explaining what it is is less effective.
Different frame of current with better quality
Are there any telltale signs if it's from the original creator, but not published by their official label? For example, I know the guy behind Tenchi Muyo made TONS of doujins for that franchise after the 2nd OAV ended, but weren't officially published by any of the big companies.
I agree. Plus, if it needs an explainy caption anyway, I'd rather the picture be a little more tongue-in-cheek.
Well, I don't like the current like OP.
Double post, but ~StarSword, did you find the image?
If we wanna illustrate self-publishing, why not something like Copiously Credited Creator, a work made and published by a single person?
Like Genetos's page image / Start Screen, naming only the sole creator as copyright?

I don't get what's happening.
The text is also blurry, and he could be drawing manga for all we know.
Doujinshi are manga. More to the point, they're amateur manga, and the arrangement shows this is not a professional job: he's doing the book binding with a needle and thread for Pete's sake. Then they go off and sell it at a con.

…which is a location where doujin are bought, as shown in the image? Con culture is a whole part of the description.

I think the suggestion is fine as Fan Convention's image is clearly focusing on the people in the con and this focusing on the doujinshi on display. I also think the current is fine for similar reasons.

Macron's notesI prefer an image of a doujinshi or its direct making, tbh. The suggestion is kinda similar to the current still.
Anyway, we need more opinions.
I'm cool with 17 if it has to be changed. Current or No Pic otherwise IMO. I don't find any of the other options clear.
Not super into any of the suggestions. I'm tempted to argue BUPKIS for this one.
I like 13 or 17, but I'm also fine with the quality improvement for the current.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable
Crown Description:
Doujinshi
Literally nothing shows that it's Doushinji, just perputates the stereotype of these types of works just being hentai and nothing else. It would work for something like Yaoi or Yaoi Fangirl, not this. Those pages have images though, so the best place for it to go is off the page.
