I feel like the tale of Pandora is recognizable enough to avoid ambiguity ("pandora's box" is even a common idiomatic expression), so I think we should wait until other suggestions.

Keep, I think we can assume curiosity from the man's pose shielding his eyes, and the alternative (that she's just looking for linens and someone trapped the chest???) isn't any more likely.

About the only alternative I could think of are the Mimic Chests from Dark Souls.

Just as an update, I messaged the artist of 8.1 on Twitter and Deviantart asking for permission, but have not heard back yet.

Good news, the artist wrote back granting permission! There is one unusual thing, he doesn't want an attribution caption or link back to his work since much of it is NSFW. Could we leave the attribution as a dummied out comment for future reference, or do we need full visible attribution for legal reasons?
