It looks like this image started out being JAFAAC, but then someone commented out the caption for being inaccurate, leaving the image without any context whatsoever. The image doesn't really fit the trope regardless, other than the fact that it depicts a Composite Character who didn't actually exist in real life.

Pull. And I'm preemptively voting bupkis because I have no clue how we could sensibly illustrate this.

Pull. This was/is the caption, for reference:

It may be Saturday morning, but there should be more people at the institute. Saturday was not a day off in the Soviet Union - In fact, Saturday WAS a day off in 1918-1940 and from 1967 onward, and the miniseries are set in 1986.

Here's the only thing I can think of that might possibly work as a replacement, showing the difference between the actual fire in the aftermath of the explosion, versus how the show depicts it: [1]

[up] I can live with that. Got a good caption to go along with it?

I'd like to apologize for all this.

I'm not really a fan. To me, 'aftermath of fire' and 'pillar of smoke from fire' seem like they're showing the same event.

It's going to be too reliant on the caption to explain it, I think.

Pull current; not really feeling the comparison pic.

A lot of the examples on the page seem almost nitpicky and not good illustrations. Having seen this show and read a bunch of 'Chernobyl vs real life' listicles, the consensus is that it nailed the visuals.

Locking as this is at the clocking point and has been dead since the pic was pulled.
