Odd TV Tropes confessions

I hate that using "tv" or "tropes" in the search engine is useless because it looks at window titles and not page titles.

When I go to New Edits and see edits of three or more consecutive pages with the same namespace (sometimes even just two, depending on the page names), I quickly suspect that a trope is being removed, even when the edits are all done by different users.

I feel bad that videos are glitching right now... but dang it feels good to have an empty video approval queue.

The lady in the picture for Goth Girls Know Magic makes me think of Morrigan if she was in the modern day. ^_^;;

Meanwhile, there have been some days within the past month or so when the amount of pending requests in the custom title request queue was either a triple-digit amount or close to it, but between custom title requests taking less time to review than videos and a lot of those requests being formatting adjustments for multiple recap pages from a single series (such as the spacing between the episode and season numbers and quotation marks around episode names), the custom title queue having a high (or relatively high) amount of pending requests doesn't intimidate me as much as it used to.

Edit: In case anyone's wondering, it's not at that high of an amount now; there are just 19 pending at the moment, so not close to three digits this time.

Amused at myself for writing a legitimate edit reason with the phrase "Deleted entries that had nothing to do with interactive toilets".

Sometimes I wonder why some tropers seem to prefer tweaking locked pages with multiple spaced-out request posts instead of citing everything/bigger chunks of things to be fixed on it (or better yet, a sandbox with all the fixes).

I can get it for the removal of a recently defunct trope, but I tend to do a Quizzical Tilt when I see the same work page being requested for by the same troper over a period of time.

Naturally, because it wasn't clear there was another problem when it was first requested?

For a while I have been worried me disagreeing with people comes off as not understanding the issue. I could say "but I still think I'm right", but it sounds arrogant and may provoke a discussion going on a tangent.

I constantly throw in mentions of potentially being wrong or suggesting that it's a communication error since, while I can be very argumentative, I also hate going in circles especially if it's a minor issue and I don't want to be too close-minded.

I've recently developed the habit of using "Ctrl + F" to search for multiple wicks that need cleaning on a page in one go (such as "usefulnotes" and years), but my most recent keyword is "youtube". Initially, I just did it to replace "Website/" with "Platform/", but now I check if video links still work.

This means that I don't clean wicks as quickly, but I'd rather be more thorough than fast.

For renaming wicks I have an AHK script that goes over a list and does Ctrl+F Ctrl+V for me and pastes an edit reason. Still have to watch the screen, because messing up is forbidden.

I do CTRL+F too. Idk how else one would do it, really.

Probably not. Media Notes was created because Useful Notes was being misused.

I know why it's been created, I'm saying I wonder how many Useful Notes will be left in the end.

Plenty; given all the pages on history, geography, science, psychology, and politics won't be moving.

This makes me wonder, now that UsefulNotes.Steam has been moved to Platform.Steam, if we would ever see a page about water taking on a gas form on being evaporated or boiled.

The tedium of crosswicking is the main reason I don't make as many pages as I want to.

I've been procrastinating on a bunch of pages because I read about the upcoming auto-crosswicking tool months ago and was hoping the thing would get released soon. I'm still not sure if I want to (a) bite the bullet and launch them with manual crosswicking, (b) see if I can write a rudimentary crosswicking helper myself to make the job less painful, or (c) keep stalling.

Another common reason for stalling is that I suck at work descriptions. I'll often collect examples in a sandbox or a text file on my computer, only to have it gather dust because I can't think of a good description. In contrast, I really like writing trope descriptions.

While making a query, I misread "Ask the Tropers" as "Eat the Tropers" for a second.

Yeah, don't do that. I don't care if they're delicious, we don't advocate for cannibalism here.

Remove one letter from "Eat the Tropers" and you get "Eat the Tropes", which sounds like another name for TV Tropes Café.

Becausee of how many Dog snowclones are there, I've considered Kick The Tropers and Pet The Tropers
