I could go with a crop of the suggestion pending other ideas.
I don't like the OP. Apart from the trope name written on him, nothing is indicating what the trope is supposed to be about.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I actually like the suggestion.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I agree, the text is pretty much doing all the work. The current's get-up is reminiscent of a Quintessential British Gentleman, which is more stereotypically "white" than what the guy in the OP is wearing.
Yeah, I don’t see a problem with the current either. The guy is dressed up like a Quintessential British Gentleman, a role which is pretty much always white. While the suggestion works (I wouldn’t say it’s text-reliant since the dude has blonde, straight hair and is dressed up in a way that I’d say is typically “white”), the quality isn’t great, and I can’t find a better-quality version or upgrade it with waifu2x.
back lolI prefer this suggestion.
Keep the current. The suggestion isn't bad, but the current is a lot better in my opinion.
TRS Wick CleaningI think the current works better for the reasons pointed out — his outfit is a lot more 'timelessly white' (or at least more indicative of The Establishment TM) than in the suggestion, which is a dated cultural reference.

The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?
You guys act like that black people don't get dressed up like that.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! Not in works that feature them, as far as I know. Anyone wears anything these days. It's more about the perception.
Black people could also dress up in the way the OP depicts; in fact, remove the blonde hair and it wouldn't be that unusual or un-stereotypical since it's just a hoodie. A white hoodie, but still just a hoodie, which everyone wears.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBeing blonde is the most unusual thing for me aóabout the OP, but that's Dark Skinned Blond, not this trope.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Not to mention, the art style makes it quite hard to actually tell (without the text telling us exactly that) if the guy is supposed to be black and not simply Ambiguously Brown.
Other ideas or crowner time?
I prefer the current.
Keet cleanupSo far, it seems like this one is relatively evenly split, with a slight favoring of the current. A crowner is likely in order, but first, I have some suggestions using Street Fighter’s Dudley. (uploaded a better and cleaner image.) Or this one:

I think the first is a mild improvement over the current because Black Boxer Stereotype is a thing, so there's an extra indicator of 'blackness' contrasting with the bougie stuff.
That's way better than the suggestion. I still slightly prefer the current, but I wou;dn't object 21.1 too much if that gains consensus.
Can we get this crowner pinned?
I'm not sure I fully understand this trope, but here's a few from Carnival Row of Agreus, a well-to-do half-man/half-goat in a suit and Nice Hat, living in a mansion, in a universe where most fantasy creatures are refugees and treated like second class citizens.

I mean, it's just a black dude in a suit. And there's an image from The Cleveland Show where he has a sash that literally says "Whitest Black Man In America". Right there.◊ Granted you might have to crop out Wayne Brady's shoulder, but I say it works. Hell, he's dressed like Justin Bieber on top of it.
