I'm probably gonna be posting here a lot, but I'll start with just one commercial series:
Levi's commercials starring Mr. Oizo's Flat Eric puppet character. I've wanted a plush of him for years now but they're so expensive!
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."I like Telenor's ads.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”This commercial, from Japan. I already have it linked in my current signature though. Either way, words can't describe it.
—signature not found—The old "Coca-Cola is it" commercials from the '80s/possibly early '90s. They were before my time, but both our family and my grandparents had these Peanuts VHS cassettes that showed Cola ads before the first episode.note And they were so upbeat and catchy:
Coca-Cola is it
When you want to feel refreshed (Coke is it)
When you're thirsty, one of the best (Coke is it)
The biggest taste you'll ever get
Coke is it, Coca-Cola is it
... And while the cola in the glass bottles from then looks super-tasty, I don't remember if the ads made me want to drink cola, per se - I mostly remember thinking the water slide they showed in one of them looked awesome. Can't find it, though. The other ones were a guy playing piano in a traffic jam, a guy finding a girl's lost dog on a beach and this one, which is the only one I could find. But the audio quality makes my left ear sad.

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.I love the Coke advertisement campaign for the new taste, especially the commercial.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Bump. I like the new Domino’s commercial about the “two minutes or your next pizza is free” curbside pickup. The one where the pizza guy is about to step out with the order… and then a bunch of African animals (and one South American monkey) show up. XD Somebody’s been watching a little too much Jumanji.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.~Magma Tea Merry: I'm guessing that's a UK/international version? Coke ads in the US from roughly 1982-1986 used the same song with different lyrics.
As for old commercials I like, my family has a few old VHS tapes recorded in 1981-1982 that were the only copies we had of certain movies (Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Caddyshack) and we left the commercials in. I remember being obsessed with an ad for Ford trucks on the Close Encounters tape.
Even the station IDs were fair game. ABC's 1981 campaign ads were what I call "mental flotsam" until I rediscovered them in RealPlayer format c. 1999, since I really liked that campaign and the two that followed it for various reasons.

online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comOh man, I miss really creative station IDs. Sometimes I watch ones from before I was born, mostly from Nickelodeon and The WB. (The WB sang their sponsorships!)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Three, I think:
- The campaign for local mobile provider, Plus GSM, featuring a local comedy troupe called Mumio.
- The "piercings" Pepsi ad from early nineties.
- A 2003 online campaign for Fanta Shokata, where you could add your own Gag Sub to clips from Bollywood movies from the seventies. The clips even featured young Amitabh Bachchan!
The old JG Wentworth "viking opera" commercial. Catchy, entertaining, and funny for how out of left field it is.
Specsavers' ads are masterpieces.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Bumping this thread with one of my favorite commercials; I just remembered this one. :) It was a commercial for Yu-Gi-Oh!. It showed the other characters saying who they’re altruistically dueling for: Yugi for his granddad, Joey for his sister, Seto for his brother… and then it cut to Mai excitedly listing off all the fun things she wants to do with the prize money. XD Then it showed Yugi smiling and Sweat Droping and saying “Well at least she’s honest.”
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. One of my favorite So Bad, It's Good commercials.
I love this Battle Of The Planets promo from Channel 5, WNEW!
The Fun's on Channel 5!

Progressive's ads..... I like the world building and character arcs
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindThe Liberty Mutual "Human" ads (e.g. this one), in which people make various catastrophic, vehicular-related mistakes to the tune of the eponymous song by The Human League. It's over-the-top enough to be comedic, and the ads do a great job recontextualizing what was originally an infidelity song. To this day it's probably my favorite ad campaign out there, and it's a shame that it had to end. Heck, even if the lyrics to "Human" are kinda banal, the ads made me like the song a lot more than I otherwise would have, lol.

Be kind.the skittles touch
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterAny ad with the Brown M&M spokescandy
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindSpeaking of sweet treats, when I was a kid, there was this contest going on where if you found a box of Chips Ahoy that was filled with sugar cookies instead of chocolate chip ones, you would win a lot of money. And it had a hilarious commercial to go with it. XD
I know this is a "meme" pick, but... the Reese's Puffs rap was catchy then, and it's catchy now.
NEW DREADWING IS PUNISHIN' HIS GATLING GUN IS ILLIN'
"noitulovE", that Guiness beer ad from 2006. It's a shame that it was a beer ad, because if I had gotten the chance to see it on TV at the time (I would've been 7) I would've gone nuts for it as a kid. As it stands, I can still love it now.
Couldn't find a thread on this, surprisingly. I like talking about good advertising campaigns, so I'll just make a thread here.
I've been binge-watching Compare the Meerkat ads cuz I'm on the other side of the pond and can't watch them on TV, and wow I love ads with actual lore. It's quite amusing. Insurance companies in general have the wildest commercial campaigns.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
