Character pages are a large chunk of the wiki, but they're often filled with problems that don't get resolved. These problems include:
- Zero Context Examples
- Indentation problems, including bulleting tropes under supertropes or tropeslashing
- Spoiler tag misuse
- A lack of alphabetization
- Empty character folders
- Plagiarized character descriptions
- Misused tropes, or tropes that don't belong on character pages
- Broken or incorrect formatting
- Subjective / Trivia trope mentions
Per How to Create a Character Page, character pages should only include tropes that describe the characters. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, Unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask about that at Are These Character Tropes.
All characters must have at least one contextualized trope for their section or folder to be visible. If you find a character that has no contextualized tropes present, comment out the entire section and add this tag:
Other relevant threads:
- Problems with pre-existing images on Characters page need to go via Image Pickin'. Low quality images can usually be upgraded without discussion, but don't change or delete images without Image Pickin' approval.
- Character Specific Pages have their own separate cleanup thread
- Self-demonstrating character pages also have their own thread.
- Inanimate objects and locations on character pages have their own cleanup thread
- Character pages for Reality Show contestants are on-topic here, but there's also a dedicated Reality Show cleanup thread which deals with the No Real Life Examples, Please! grey areas these shows create, and may sometimes be a better place to discuss them.

The Doctor Who – Revival Series Companions is 188,169 bytes long. I’m trying to thing of ways we can make it shorter. If we put Amy and Rory’s folders together. And call it Doctor Who - The Ponds it’ll cut down 58,029 bytes from that page and there’s plenty to be said in a folder of them as a couple. I think that’s the best course of action to make the base page easier to edit
I'm good with that idea.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportOkay it’s at 58,734 bytes, if no one objects I’m going to go ahead and launch it

Any views on Baldur's Gate III: Classes?
It's troping class features rather than any specific characters, and I know we have some concerns about how player choices and game classes are handled on Characters pages.
I mean did we do anything with Characters.Pokemon Types and Characters.Fire Emblem Heroic Archetypes in the end?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupShould Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss be merged?
It's gonna be fun on the bun!No, why? They are different series.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThey take place in a shared universe.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!...And, due to copyright reasons, will never have a crossover.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThey're a shared universe, but the characters of the shows are separated to the point where they're legally barred from ever having a crossover. It would be confusing for newcomers and more trouble than it's worth to combine them.

And they already have a shared page, Characters.Hellaverse, and don't share characters aside two cameos.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupHuh. Well that's news to me. I honestly still need to watch Hazbin Hotel. I keep putting it off. Good thing I asked first and didn't do anything.

It's gonna be fun on the bun!Madame web takes place in its own continuity as per the creators. Should we seperate that page from the other Sony properties?
Does it? I’ve heard some of the marketing uses “meanwhile, in another universe”, but that could very well just be Sony trying (and failing) to exploit Spider-Verse/MCU adjacency to entice audiences.
I know it’s been described as a stand-alone movie, but my impression was that they meant that as in “we weren’t required to include big connections to other films”, not that it was a stand-alone universe.
Sony has done so poorly that I honestly don’t know if any film they’ve released from the SSU is in the same universe. But they consider it apart of their franchise so I’d keep them together.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Crowner voting for the proposed Character-Specific Page (CSP) policy changes is now open here. Please comment and/or vote if you have a view on this.
Rather than a single vote on the rewritten policy statement, this Crowner has broken it down into six different statements, each with its own vote:
- The recommendation that character folders should be cleaned before a CSP is approved would become a hard rule. Cleanup would be coordinated by the existing Character-Specific Pages thread.
- The recommendation that any CSP should be at least 40,000 characters would become a hard rule.
- The recommendation that other options must be attempted first, such as splitting character pages into smaller groups of characters, would become a hard rule.
- The note that CSPs may be used when a page starts showing 'too long' errors would be replaced by a hard rule that a CSP will only be created if the parent page is approaching 250,000 characters.
- The note that the original Characters page "should still have enough writing to stand on its own" after a CSP is split out would be replaced by a hard rule that the original page is still at least 40,000 characters after the CSP is created.
- All pre-existing CSPs should be actively reviewed against the new rules and merged back into other Character pages if they don't meet them.
After voting closes, any changes that get consensus will be made to the Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy page.
I would like to apologize for repeatedly bringing up Black★Rock Shooter and my initial suggestion for a Character Page split of the franchise, both on this thread ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5]) and on ATT (which have since been privated). Not only for being irrelevant and derailing the thread, but also the lack of any progress I actually put on the project before eventually discarding it all together out of disinterest, even deleting my sandbox for the huke designed-characters. As a substitute, I'm shifting focus more to sweeping the current character pages as they have a lot of problems regarding their examples mostly consisting of ZCEs, Word Cruft, and in Dawn Fall's case, empty folders.

Apologies. I just wanna see your thoughts on the above post.

"The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VIIThere's no point bumping after just an hour.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupFor my suggestion above about merging the Character pages of Gundam SEED (entry #1722 of this topic and it was suggested before in entry #1663), excluding the spin-offs, and to making them consistent with other Gundam pages (except the UC ones). The Gundam 00 pages came in my mind, due to having the same number of official media (two seasons and a movie, again excluding spin-offs), where a character page covers his/her development in the whole Anno Domini universe.
Should we give it a go ?

Characters.Rollplay has characters without tropes, plus some major spoiler tag violations.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI think that could work.

Best I can say is just cut the page

Bakugan 2023 doesn't have any tropes whatsoever. Just several empty folders.
