Video uploading

Heck, it's impossible to prove a user watched a video in the first place. The info on who voted is anonymous, so it's unenforceable.

Different topic, but is it okay to upload two videos from the same work for the same trope BUT it's the primary trope on one video and a secondary trope in the other?

Clarifying: I made the Agent Ali video for Freeze-Frame Introduction "Agent Ali (Season 1)". The show tends to use this method of introduction a lot.

The next video I intend to upload is also from Agent Ali but for Everyone Meets Everyone, and since there are a lot of introductions, there's a lot of Freeze-Frame Introduction too. There's no overlap in footage because the former is a compilation of them from Season 1, while the latter will be from Season 2, Episode 2 (The to-be footage is from the beginning of this episode).

Would this be fine or should I not add Freeze-Frame Introduction as a secondary trope to my next video example?

Wait, is 4.5 a bad rating? It means that half the voters voted 5, and half of them 4, and 4 doesn't mean it doesn't fit, at least for me. I usually give a 4 if it kind of fits or if it contains somewhat too much context or some of the tropes fit but others are a stretch. Looking at some of the Frozen videos, the only one that got voted below 4 is one that doesn't fit the primary trope at all and kind of fits the secondary one.

I consider ratings arbitrary. Unless someone requests in the moderation thread that the video doesn't fit, it's not something worth attention.

BlackFaithStar, Different clips from the same work can even have the same primary trope as far as I care, because Video Guidelines doesn't say otherwise.

x3: Having a 4-level score does not necessarily mean all the ratings were 4 or 5. It could be several 5's and 1 or 2 as a bomb. Looking thru the videos for Frozen (2013) and Frozen II, almost all of them are less than 4.5, many are less than 4, and only two have a 5 score.

To this post: Just as an example, the two videos I uploaded with WebAnimation.Supermarioglitchy4s Super Mario 64 Bloopers, "Rip Mario" and "You had to say it Mario?" so far have no rating despite them fitting their respective tropes (Killing Your Alternate Self and Instantly Proven Wrong). Compared to most of the clips from WebAnimation.Death Battle that I uploaded which do score high ratings.

If y'all saw my entry to the Despair Event Horizon thing then please get rid of the equal thingy shit around the IShowSpeed name, this is my first time using this feature 😭

You can edit your video example by going back to the "Edit Videos" page and clicking the cog in the corner of the thumbnail. I've circled it here in a screenshot.◊

If that doesn't work (or you want to edit someone else's video example), ask for the change to be made in the video moderation requests thread.

is it okay to mix the original audio of something with higher quality footage from a foreign dub?

Don't know if this is the right place, but...with the new character specific pages rules, a lot of character pages will become redirects. Is there a way to move the video examples?

Character pages aren't supposed to be linked in video examples to begin with.

I really need your help. I was just trying to upload new thumbnails to some of my videos at the Edit Videos section when suddenly, there's nothing on the screen. The box was supposed to say "Click or Drop files here to upload" but when I tried uploading an image, it won't work, not even with dragging the image to the box. Is this a glitch? Is the site trying to fix it?

This has been fixed yesterday. Clear your browser's chance and/or reboot the device. If nothing works submit Query Bugs with a reference to here.

Still doesn't work. So, I will just wait for the site to fix it soon.

It happened to me a few times in recent days. Reloading usually helped.

Even if I tried reloading multiple times, I still have this issue.

Maybe it's a browser thing. What do you use? I know Safari had issues last night.

I use Chrome. Even if I try using Edge and Firefox, it doesn't work either. It is probably a site issue and has nothing to do with my browser. Some other users have this issue as well.

As mentioned, if something isn't working, it's for Query Bugs so admins look into it when they get online.

Can videos used for Playing With examples? I'd say these are for straight examples only, or they would simply not look like examples.

Videos are hard. Because they can be for multiple tropes at once and exist to illustrate specific tropes in action, also having to recognize valid played with examples does seem like a headache.

I've tried to upload a couple videos recently, but the upload basically hung on "Sending file to Media Converter.." (yes, with two of ".")

Is anyone else getting that problem? I'm not sure how to get around that issue.
