Eyriestone, Indiana - Paranormal Small Town Monster Mystery RP Sign Ups and Interest

May 12 2018.

On the very day a new family moved into the small Indiana town of Eyriestone, the mayor's wife perished in an unusual fire that according to all eye witness testimony burned blue and black. The police department has announced no suspects for the arson of the mayor's house.

There are a few open secrets in the town of Eyriestone which threaten to burst into public view - first and foremost what this small town tends to invite.

Monsters of an unusual and atypical sort.

Creatures unwelcome in the waking world, who, due to their practices or nature come to this town to get away from a world hunting them.

The "normal" residents lock and bar their doors after dusk, for reasons that boil down to "intuition" and "common practice". It is known it is unsafe to be outdoors after dusk in this town, even if you're not exactly normal yourself!

But now the town brims with danger anew - the mysterious arson has forced numerous plans and schemes to the finishing point, and now the town is on the brink of open conflict. The forces outside may yet come a'calling, and the history of the town, spattered with blood, calls for yet another dousing of its pages in new red ink.

I was inspired to make this RP based on several horror short stories and such, some by Stephen King, with the idea of "what if all these odd and strange monsters all lived in the same town?"

There will be a faux-slice of life flavor to this RP that sees people living in the town trying to continue with their little slices of life while also dealing with the mystery and the incidents related to it. How long can this calm life last in the face of what is surely to come?

  • Name: Nathrach (of the Highland Catacombs). Human name is Daileass.
  • Age: Unspecified; estimated to be over two millennia.
  • Gender: Male.
  • Monster or Human?: Monster.
    • Monster Race: Beithir/Human Hybrid.
  • Appearance:
    • As Daileass: [1]
    • As Nathrach: [2]
    • As The Beithir: [3]
  • Personality: Nathrach's personality slightly varies depending on what appearance he takes; his human form is more reserved and snippy while his Beithir form is instinctual and animalistic. Generally, though, he is a bit of a thrillseeker at heart – albeit in a more calm and quiet form than your typical daredevil. Rather than finding entertainment through experiences, he finds it through conversation – weaving his way through speech as excellently as a racing driver through a track. He rarely shows genuine remorse for what he does, and if he ever appears to it is almost guaranteed to be a farce. That said, he is rather amicable and open even to his prey – informing those he encounters exactly of what type of being he is and how he could turn his heel on them on a whim if he was so inclined to. Yet he is always fair – returning kindness with mercy and churlishness with ruthlessness – and perhaps after prolonged exposure to a particular person they could get on his good side and reserve a spot in his cold little heart. For now, though, he is best described as a polite dinosaur – you may chat with him all you like, and he'll gladly chat along with you – but you always know that at some point the external humanity will suddenly cease as the predator wakes up. While occasionally willing to prey on animals in desperate situations, Nathrach will always return his attention to devouring humanity at some point – and is in fact so dependant on their existence he may even assist them in times of world-ending crises to make sure there is still food for him to eat.
  • Abilities:
    • Serpentine Physiology: Nathrach's fused nature with the Beithir has caused a disturbing overlap between traditional snakelike abilities and an externally humanoid appearance. He is flexible beyond measure – able to contort, stretch, and warp his body to unnerving degrees – and is effectively boneless in nature, allowing him to slip through surprisingly small areas and even under doorframes with some time and effort. He has foldaway fangs – inheriting the Beithir's characteristic sting, of course – and slitted, reptilian eyes that grant him a degree of night-vision (and a negation of the process of blinking). In truth, however, his hybrid outer appearance is little more than a husk – and when removed either by force or by his own decision it reveals a writhing mass of self-consuming and rebirthing snakes. This is shown out of his control by both his shadow and mirrors – and intriguingly it reveals that all his interaction with the outside world is born by the careful positioning of his serpentine army. These snakes held within also are clearly visible in the event that Nathrach is mutilated or injured – to which they may leak out of gashes and cuts in place of blood, or in the case of an entire body part being detached to which they will swarm out of the exit points and try to pull themselves and Nathrach back together again. It is also to be noted that due to his ever self-consuming nature, Nathrach requires periodical human sustenance to continue existing.
    • Schrödinger Teleportation & Snake Summoning: Nathrach is technically not meant to even exist, and is treading the line between manifestation and a pure state of immaterial consciousness. As such, he can 'lean' into either side, so to speak – allowing him to vanish on a whim and reappear elsewhere as long as he remains completely unobserved by physical eyes in the process. This also applies to the countless snakes making up his form: by using the same rules, he can summon his serpents from any place unseen on or in his own body as well as elsewhere if he is intimately knowledgeable of the location. When detached from his control or allowed a degree of individuality, these snakes can activate this ability on a whim to either complete their assignment or return to their master. This power could also apply to small objects to allow for quick summoning of useful tools – which he rarely carries anyway.
    • Hypnotic Control: Nathrach's gaze is powerful in more ways than one might initially suspect. With prolonged eye contact, he can cause human and animal to slip into a trance-like state so he may issue basic commands to them – however the former is tricky due to the added sentience and mental fortitude. As such, he uses this most often on his snakes – manipulating them to do his bidding. This ability is unconscious, and he cannot blink – something those interacting with him will need to be wary of.
  • Biography:
    • In a time unknown, Nathrach was two separate beings: the human Daileass, and the serpentine monstrosity known only as the Beithir. The colossal creature had plagued the village where Daileass had grown up in regular intervals (approx. twice a year) and seemed to especially enjoy hunting them down via the usage of underground tunnels whenever they tried to move their location in ultimately futile attempts to escape the beast. Frustrated by his people's constant suffering at the hands of the Beithir (and already a brash, high-strung individual), Daileass snapped, taking a sword in a last-ditch effort to combat the beast. Despite warnings from his village and even having to avoid their dispatching of warriors to chase after him, Daileass encountered the Beithir within its catacombs. After a tense skirmish, something unexpected occurred: the man and the beast struck each other dead at the exact same moment.
    • By legend, the Beithir's bite is fatal and can only be cured by the accursed rushing to the nearest lake or water source to cleanse it – with the serpent-beast racing them there the whole while in attempt to devour its prey whole and complete the curse. Yet Daileass and the Beithir had both been slain – the former bitten and unable to run, and the latter struck through the head and unable to devour him. They were at an impasse – and if that wasn't bad enough, legend also states that the Beithir has the ability to reconstruct itself. It did so – taking some of Daileass along with it.
    • The next thing both creatures were aware of was waking up. As one. Neither had memory of their individual lives, as they were now the same being. The new creature – confused and with a strange hunger plaguing him – dubbed himself 'Nathrach' (after the possessive form of 'Nathair', which means 'Snake' in Scots Gaelic) and retreated into the Beithir's catacombs to reside. After an indeterminate amount of time hiding within those tunnels – slaughtering and consuming all who dared to trespass within and gaining a reputation in legend as the 'Devil of the Catacombs' – Nathrach has finally come out, long since accepting of his strange situation and curious to see how the outside world is faring. Travelling far and wide both in subtle and unsubtle fashions has now led him to Eyriestone, where the Serpent of the Highlands hopes to find the stimulation he is seeking.
  • Other: It is unknown what has happened to the sword that Daileass used to deal the finishing blow against the Beithir, but it is most likely still located somewhere within the Catacombs. If so, its involvement in the creation of the fused creature – plus Nathrach's apparent unawareness of its existence – may make it a crippling weapon against him...

  • Name: The Trickster
  • Age: Unknown, but they are very old
  • Gender: Unknown
  • Monster/Human: Monster
    • Monster Race: Fae
  • Appearance:
    • In their human form, they appear as a girlish boy/boyish girl in long, tattered patchwork robes with a shock of wild white hair and slitted yellow eyes. They are 4 ft. tall and weigh about 80 lbs.
    • Their true form is just plain strange. They are a white-furred quadruped with hoofed hind legs and retractable claws in their front paws, with the addition of three long, tufted tails fanning out behind them. Their head has antlers, pointed ears, and multiple slitted yellow eyes on their forehead and snout. Their teeth are sharp and their tongue is forked. They have multiple scars on their body.
  • Personality: The Trickster seems to be a childish and vacuous eldritch being, but they are actually more intelligent than they let on. They have a personal code of honor that they will not break, and demand that others show "honor" when dealing with them (such as adhering to the Law of Hospitality). They ask for "favors" in return for their assistance, and only give out "freebies" for close friends.
  • Abilities:
    • The Trickster can shapeshift into different animals and people, but will always retain either the yellow eyes or a streak of white hair.
    • They can't be sickened or poisoned due to their odd Fae nature. Neither cold not heat seems to faze them, and they don't seem to need to breathe.
    • Their catlike eyes enable them to see in the dark, and their senses appear to be very keen as well.
    • They can teleport in a puff of black smoke.
    • Despite appearances, they are monstrously strong and fast in their true form. Their antlers are both sharp and durable.
  • Skills:
    • They know a great deal about magic, and specialize in ritualistic dances intended to bring various kinds of weather, ensure a good harvest, etc.
    • They speak Scottish Gaelic, Irish, Manx, Old Norse, and English.
  • Biography:
    • Trickster was a formerly high-ranking Fae Lord who terrorized the British Isles and some Nordic regions, but ultimately fell in love with a wizard, who betrayed them and sealed them away. After some time, the wizard came back to unseal Trickster, but he was so eaten up with guilt after he sealed them that he turned evil and wanted to force Trickster into being his servant so they could "be together forever." Trickster was forced to kill the wizard and escaped to the forests near Eyriestone. They hope to live out the rest of their days in relative peace there, but it seems like that isn't going to happen due to the chaos in town.
  • Other:
    • They retain the same intelligence in their more animalistic true form, but cannot speak.
    • Trickster can't lie, so they resort to using exact words and half-truths.
    • Their shadow and mirrors show their true form.
    • They will never tell anyone their true name since it would give that person power over them.
    • They can't cross lines of salt, touching cold iron burns them, and they can't cross dwelling thresholds if they don't have permission or if the house has an iron horseshoe nailed to its front door.
    • They used to receive milk, honey, and fruits in return for leaving people alone/not eating them. Trickster will happily be your friend if you give them these things when you meet them.
      • They have managed to curb their appetite for human flesh, and eat the flesh of other animals instead. However, their craving for flesh still flares up, sometimes at the most inconvenient moments...

  • Name: Charles Lewis Grady
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: Male
  • Monster or Human?: Monster
  • Monster Race: Were-Cat / "Sleepwalker"
  • Appearance: The only son of the family that just moved in to the old Mundwich Home, Charles is a handsome, charming lad - perhaps a bit too much so? - having blond hair, bright blue eyes, and a light tan. He has a well formed, muscular look to him, prefers wearing a large coat over a black short sleeve t-shirt. He has a beanie hat that is very precious to him, the last remaining belonging of his father. He wears tight jeans, and a pair of boots - the boots are another keepsake.
  • Personality: Charles is heavily affected by the death of his father early in his life - he has possessiveness issues, and is afraid if he lets go, that person will die. He is perhaps a bit too charming for his own good - some of the time, he's let himself get far too close to a "mark" and let them either get away or...disqualified them from the virgin category. He seems to have a definite inkling how he and his mother live is not by any stretch good, he feels locked in - that there really isn't any other way. He feels unendingly lonely and yearns for some form of honest companionship despite feeling it cannot truly be. He chases a relationship each time despite knowing damn well it will be based on his own hunger, and will never be a healthy one.
  • Abilities:
    • Only By Claw and Fang of Feline: Due to the curse that makes them what they are, Charles and his mother can only really be harmed by and large by cats. Charles - despite being a young one - is capable of shrugging off enormous trauma and regenerating it off.
      • Curse of Bast: Owing to their origins, the mere presence of a Sleepwalker causes cats to...change. They become bloodthirsty, insanely aggressive, and they ignore any and all nonfatal injuries. Charles prominently remembers one cat not even flinching at lacking half its body and dragging itself at him, its eyes glowing red and its fangs looking sharper than they should be...
    • Enhanced Speed, Toughness and Strength: Due to the curse, he is capable of well beyond human speed toughness and strength.
    • Shapeshifting: Charles is a capable shapeshifter, being capable of either changing his form to a Game Face or simply going invisible. Charles' Game Face involves black smoke coming off of him, his eyes turning to lustrous red cat eyes, his hands getting extremely sharp claws, and his teeth sharpening.
    • Illusionist: Any given Sleepwalker is a powerful illusionist, and he can make objects appear to be other objects, make his car change apparent models, among other things.
    • Immunity to Diseases and Poisons: That Nigh-Invulnerable trait except to cats even goes as far as diseases and poisons. It takes specialized, cat hair derived poisons to do anything to him.
    • Soul Drinker: Unlike the original movie, Sleepwalkers very much CAN drink energy / life from anyone, it is just that virgins give the most charge. Notably, there's a different flavor and experience pending on the victim's nature.
  • Skills:
    • The Honey Pot: Charles' "job" is basically to seduce people so he and his mother may feed. He's good at being charming, though as covered, he can be a little too good at it.
    • Self Defense: His mother basically taught him all she knows. He is far from helpless in a physical altercation.
  • Biography: His early life was marred by a lot of moves and violent altercations - his mother and father spent most of their waking life fighting off "men with strange lights and guns", belonging to Noble Tech, which sends both said men and "monstrous metal creatures". On one occasion, Charles' father, worn down by numerous felines, was ambushed and torn to pieces in front of the young Charles by Noble Tech's latest mechanical horror. This drastically affected the young boy - driving his need for companionship. His mother has spent the years since trying to evade their enemies and continue their lifestyle. And that lifestyle only became more twisted as Charles grew up. Recently, the two of them are set to move to town due to Mary saying that "Mayor Renard is an old family friend".
  • Other:
    • He and his mother are the mentioned new family.
    • Mary wasn't smiling when she referred to Renard as a family friend.

Lots of interest! I hope that this character is okay!

  • Name: Fiona/Fenrir
  • Age: Unknown!
  • Gender: Female
  • Monster or Human?: Monster!
    • Monster Race: Werewolf-Fenrir
  • Appearance: Human Form
  • Personality: Fiona is quite the character, having lived since the age of gods. Fiona can be rather aloof, charming, and deceiving if need be. She has a rather hard time getting along with authority and would rather just have fun, especially considering how much time she has been chained up. She has a intense interest in playing games and listening to the music of the modern age, something that the era of gods were quite dull in. She's rather kind, playful, and trustworthy despite being betrayed by her one true friend, Tyr, in the past. However, if gotten on her bad side, which can happen quite often due to her short temper, Fiona can be a cruel individual, playing with her prey and pretending that they have a chance of living only to kill them at the height of their hopes and dreams.
  • Abilities:
    • Enhanced physical prowess: Due to being the true Wolf, Fiona's physical abilities are greatly enhanced. Her strength being powerful enough to break through the Three Fetters placed upon her by the greatest craftsmen during the age of gods.
    • Shapeshifting: Able to turn into any type of wolf. Most of the time she is in her human form, but is usually in her floof form when out and about to deceive humans that she isn't a threat, and to hide her true nature.
    • Immunity: Fiona is immune to most types of damage, excluding magic and silver-based weaponry which is lethal to her and leaves burns when touched.
    • Enhanced senses: Her sense of smell, hearing, and sight are exceptionally strong, strong enough that she can even sense heartbeats from miles around. However, because her senses are so strong, she has to smoke in order to dull them to the point that they aren't overwhelming.
  • Skills:
    • Fiona knows a great deal about beasts and crafts.
    • She's knowledgeable about magic, especially magic from gods or deities.
  • Biography: Fiona, is in fact Fenrir, the first werewolf. Having survived her ordeals and bondage during the age of gods, she traveled the world to indulge her curiosity and to entertain herself. Having finally settled in Eyriestone after many years of traveling, Fiona intends to have as much fun as possible.
  • Other:
    • Smokes and drinks a lot to dull her senses, otherwise she would be overwhelmed with her keen senses.
    • Loves to play games. Whether it be card games, video games, or board games she will always play. It's easy to get on her good side through this method.

Name: Francisco Isaias Rojas de Los Rios

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Monster or Human?: Monster

Monster Race: Werejaguar

Appearance: Normally appears as a tall, lean and rather tan handsome young man, with long, dark brown hair and normally half lidded amber eyes, and usually keeps a necklace on him. But his real face is like this.

Personality: Relaxed, joking and somewhat flirty, Francisco is quite a breath of life in a sleepy town, even if a bit oblivious at times. But that hides some feelings of isolation, and a wish for peace and a place to belong tends to influence his behavior. While he tends to try to act lighthearted most often, he is very emotional, and can fly on a blind rage, even if later he feels he has to clean the mess.

Abilities: Amazing agility, speed and reflexes.

Superhumanly strong

Sharp senses

Claws and fangs

A link to water and rain: He can control water to an extent and mess with the weather.

Seals: With some artifact, he can look human, but it costs him his more physical powers.

Skills: Parkour: Even without being a jaguar, he is very agile, and can climb and jump around with ease.

Brawler: While not formally trained, fights like on a bar brawl, but hits fast and precise enough to do a lot of damage.

Good observation skills: He rarely misses things, and always looks for what could be useful.

Some knowledge of magic, but doesn't get much out of it.

Biography: Francisco moved over with his family at a young age, concealing themselves from detection with the use of a spell - while most looking at them would only see a poor Mexican Family, what they concealed was their nature. Each was a were-jaguar, having moved to escape from a bad situation in Mexico. The young Francisco and his family would move across the country when a number of incidents threatened to expose them. From a fight with a racist neighbor to a profiling incident that saw a violent cop get his throat ripped out, it seemed they found only a lack of belonging and hostility. However before long they stumbled upon another family in similar straits, moving to a place called Eyriestone. Supposedly, Eyriestone was hospitable to monsters and those who existed outside the norm. Deciding there was no other option with which to give their son a home, Francisco's parents moved to the Town of Eyriestone.

Other: We'll see.

Wake me up at your own risk.

Name: Jordan Evan

Age: 36

Gender: Female

Monster or Human?: Human

Monster Race: (if applicable) Um...human.

Appearance:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/19_04_2017_9_20_41_am.jpg
Jordan as a cop

Six feet tall, incredibly fit from still maintaining a strict diet and exercise regime outside of being a police officer. Long brown hair which she traditionally wears in pigtails or plaits. Blue eyes which is unusual given her heritage, indigenous possibly Native Indian (Cheyenne). Thick muscular legs and thighs.

Personality: Very nice, very kind, has high morals despite the knowledge that Being Good Sucks. In fact it was primarily this that drove her from the police force.

Abilities: Physically she is the near perfect prototype or model for police work. Quite strong, very fit and athletic. Very competent at the physical aspects of the job, and very intelligent if not particularly gifted at detective or investigative work.

Skills: Apt at both firearms and hand to hand combat, Jordan was not only physically but mentally apt at police work, gifted at resolving a situation without the use of force. As far as actual cases go Jordan was very much an outside the box thinker, coming up with unique ways and angles to approach a case even if not all of them panned out. As an EMT she is also a capable driver and healer.

Biography: Jordan Evan joined the police force when it was mentioned her heritage would be a barrier to joining and she served to prove the notion wrong. Graduating with honors, one of Jordan's first cases involved youth gangs which she tried, and failed, to prevent from entering a life of crime.

She later discovered online cases of child exploitation and sought to have the sites shut down. Chasing up a lead she ended up shot and wheelchair bound for months, in the time she was unable to work she covered for the officer who shot and killed her assailant possibly in cold blood while trying to hunt down a vigilante who was taking her previous cases into their own hands.

Once she recovered Jordan looked into what seemed to be a spate of vampire attacks. It turned out it was some wannabe who thought they were a supernatural being and when confronted and he attacked Jordan was forced to shoot and kill him in self defense, before learning that the sites she had tried to shut down were being run by police as part of a sting operation. When a suspect named Travis Kennedy was browbeaten into a confession he was so worked up he tried to kill himself, ending up a cripple. So disgusted by this Jordan quit the police and joined the ambulance service.

Other:

  • Being Good Sucks: Jordan faced this in trying to work as a police officer, despite her best efforts she saw problems everywhere she looked and nothing she could do helped her goal of preventing youths from a life of crime.

  • Closet Geek: Will look at any form of police or emergency services media from gangland to 911 call reality TV (she said Blue Heelers nailed it, at least initially.)

  • Cool Big Sis: To Travis after he crippled himself.

  • Driven to Suicide: Not her, but Travis: after being verballed into a confession for visiting a site the police were running as part of a sting he tried to bash himself to death. Instead he ended up with brain damage and in need of a full time carer.

  • Everyone Has Standards: Earlier in her career Jordan learns of a web site that she tries to have shut down. Instead the police take control of it in a bid to entrap anyone visiting, unknowingly enabling actual offenders. So disgusted Jordan was she quits.

  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: And Jordan is so grateful that she cannot grasp why anyone would commit evil acts.

  • Perpetual Poverty: What Jordan faced in the police and today as an EMT.

Aight, I hope you don't mind if I do 3

Name: Michael Blanke

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Monster or Human?: Technically Monster?

Monster Race: A member of a Witch Species

Appearance: About 5'5, short brown hair, Pale-skinned, and blue-eyed. Generally has a preference for wearing a lot of blue and white.

Personality: Michael's not coped well with the loss of his parents; He became introverted, quiet, and overprotective. While he does put up a bit of an aloof front out of fear of getting close to anyone, anyone who manages to break through will find a kind, albeit dorky young man who is fiercely loyal to anyone who manages to get close. Michael geniunely feels like he has to step up and be a protector and has a tendency to push himself too hard, much to the annoyance/worry of his younger sister. Has a tendency to be blunt and snarky at times

Abilities: Michael possesses the ability to control ice/cold; Manipulating it, freezing things (Though this is limited to touch), make simple constucts out of it (I.E nothing as complex, as, say, a gun), and manipulating the moisture in the air to create it.

Skills: Knowledge of the Supernatural; Michael's family has been involved in the world of the Supernatural for many a generation; as a result, Michael's been taught extensively on how to recognize signs of a supernatural creature's presence, as well as the minute, telltale signs of a supernatural being trying to pass for human.

Biography: Born to a human mother and Homo Magus father, Michael was surrounded by the supernatural since birth, growing to learn more and more about it as he grew up alongside his sister, Rose. Which is probably why he sounded crazy to people when he tried to explain that a supernatural creature had been the cause of both his parents' death one fateful evening, which was written off as the result of trauma. Eventually, Michael and Rose were sent to live with their closest living relative in the nearby town of Eyriestone, Indiana.

Name: Grace Blanke

Monster or Human?: Monster

Monster Race: Ursithrope(essentially a Were-Bear)

Age: 16

Appearance; Fairly tall, long, dark hair that goes to about the middle of her back, brown eyes, caucasian skin tone.

Personality; Rose can best be described as a "Social butterfly"; she's outgoing, friendly, energetic, and good-humored. However, while this is how she appears outwardly, on the inside she is a mix of sad and traumatized over the loss of two sets of parents, yet determined to not let her traumas define her, and to not let the past repeat itself. She tends to be very protective of the friends she does make and despite being young, attempts to take on a sort of "Mama bear" role. She's been known to run her mouth on more than one occasion, often being blunt, sarcastic, occasionally insensitive without realizing it, and even a little boastful.

Abilities:

-Rose's senses are massively enhanced, even outside of the were-bear form

-Rose's Were-Bear form grants super-strength and durability, at the cost of speed.

-(This one is a heavy maybe because not sure if it'd be Op?) Depending on the severity, Rose can heal from injuries faster than normal (Nothing as OP as, say, regrowing a whole limb)

Skills:

Self-Defense: At the insistence of her family (Due to Ursithropes being fairly sought after pelt-wise), Rose has taken some self-defense classes and is far from harmless in a scrap.

Biography: Adopted into the Blanke family after the death of both her parents due to pelt hunters at a very young age, Rose grew up knowing that, while her family did love her and treat her like one of their own, there was something very different about her. Of course, that made itself very clear once her werebear form first manifested, forcing the truth to come out. While painful at first, life continued on as usual until the tragic passing of her foster parents. Both her and her brother were sent to live with their nearest living relative, in the town of Eyriestone Indiana, with her just as determined to protect him as he is to protect her.

And I hope you don't mind, but I have a different Antagonistic character in mind as well;

Name: Edwin Gray (His real name, although he's had dozens of aliases over his time on this planet)

Age: 330, mid-20's physically.

Gender:Male

Monster or Human?: Monster

Monster Race: Vampire

Appearance: tall, with straight, light-brown hair, pale skin, fairly muscular, and with yellow eyes.

Personality: Edwin, at least on the surface level, cultivates the image of a man of wealth and taste, of a suave gentlemen with a kind manner and a dry wit about him, a very old-school actor sort of classy. While there is some truth to that image, beneath it all Edwin's a vicious, manipulative monster who left his humanity behind years ago. Having long since lost his compassion and empathy for not just humans, but his fellow supernatural beings, Edwin's taken a dark sort of thrill in manipulating people into doing what he wants, having found it to be his most recent amusement. Edwin doesn't particularly believe in things such as "Causes" or "Loyalties", considering his long life as proof that such things will inevitably shatter, however he will throw himself behind something if he believes the outcome will benefit him. Edwin does have a sense of humor about him, but it tends to be snarky and biting, or mocking and sadistic.

Abilities:

In addition to the typical vampire attributes of enhanced strength, speed, agility, senses, etc. Edwin has a particular affinity towards animals;

-he can communicate with them on some level.

-so long as he locks eyes with them, he can control them/see through their eyes for a limited time.

-Depending on how much blood he's drank from an animal, he can turn into it for a limited time

-(Thinking of giving him some kinda healing factor but again not sure on how OP it'd be)

Skills:

Acting- Edwin is incredibly skilled at faking his emotions, particularly love and empathy

Charisma- He displays a talent for putting up a charming, charismatic front, particularly when he needs someone to trust him.

Biography:

Formerly a simple farm boy, Edwin's life was changed by just 1 question; "How would you like a taste of power?" One "yes" and a bite to the neck later, that's exactly what he got. For the first century or so of his Vampirism, Edwin was enamored by his vampiric powers; Sure, the weaknesses were annoying, but to be stronger, faster, and tougher than any normal human...That was power that should've been reserved for the gods alone, and yet he was blessed with it! However, as time went on, he began to get bored and longed for something to reignite his spark. Eventually he would find it in combat once the Revolutionary War broke out. While this sated him for the time being, this cycle would repeat itself; Love, War, Art, Science, nothing seemed to sate his boredom for long, and the longer he lived, the more friends and loved ones he seemed to lose to time. Eventually, taking on an attitude of "Everything fades eventually, why not just do what I want?" Edwin willingly unbound himself from human morality and began to act however he pleased, so long as he benefitted. Now he's found himself in Eeyriestone, hoping to find some sort of excitement, and given the supernatural population of the town, he's bound to have found it.
