- Appearance: Dueling's like fighting, ye? Better dress like it!
◊ Stands about 5'9 and can never actually make up his mind on what hair style he likes.
- Backstory: Like most everyone, Dueling started off as little more than a hobby he entertained as a kid, never really seemed like much to him. However when he was in his early years of college, a friend of his reintroduced a bored Jo to the game that they had messed with when they were kids, showing off how the game had changed and the new mechanics that went with it. After reading up on the changes, Jo's eye was snagged by a group of cards called Gouki, resembling the Styles and Personalities of the wrestlers of old he watched with his father when he was a young lad. Jo was enthralled by the relatively simple idea they presented, comboing into larger monsters for a vicious beat down, changing up the end result depending on what was desired at the time. Soon after, Jo got into the game seriously, wanting to learn every possible variation and combo he could run while still keeping the focus on the simple idea of rushing down his opponent with a blistering assault. By the time the tournament had been announced, Jo was ready to try his hand at the competition, motivated by a desire to see how far his "fists" could carry him and to grab that cash prize for himself and his pals. The idea of making a new card was just icing on the cake.

Master Saboteur
- Name: Anna Cunningham
- Age: 22
- Gender: Female
- Duel Disk: A silver 5Ds Standard Disk supplied by her organization.
- Appearance: Not too exciting, but functional. Anna is relatively short at a mere 5'3, and typically dresses in plain clothes.
- Backstory: Anna is one of those lazy types who suffer from a complete lack of motivation, whether it be in Dueling, or in life in general, which might make some wonder why she's even in this tournament in the first place. The answer is simple: she's here because her job requires her to be. Anna has always just coasted through life, going wherever the wind takes her. Somehow, this led her to be recruited into a research organization specializing in research the energy that is created through Dueling, supposedly because of her own talent in a Duel, despite her laziness. Now she's starting off in the field, gathering data on Duelists' energies, and since a tournament as big as this one is sure to attract strong Duelists from all over, her supervisor directed her here as a place to start. If she wins however, that blank card will be handed off to the organization, although she will be nicely compensated for her trouble.

Okay, before you say "what the heck is this energy nonsense," in Arc-V they would have things like Synchro or Xyz energy signals when Duelists summoned particularly strong monsters and such. I always thought that was interesting, so I just incorporated it into this character. For the purposes of this RP, it's mostly an excuse to have her show up where the fun is. And also comment on how strong monsters are and such.

Here's another WIP for ya. Backstory to come later (i.e. not 2 A.M.).
Name: Camellia "Mellie" Valentine.
Age: 22.
Gender: Female.
Duel Disk: Pretty close to a standard one, but with a vine pattern snaking around it. The card holders are painted to look like leaves, as well.
Appearance: Mellie’s a pretty short woman, topping out at 5’ 4” (if you count the extra inch her hair gives her). Said hair is red, curly, and is usually cut fairly short, though its sheer curliness means that no matter what Mellie does, her hair always manages to form into a wild, fluffy mess. She doesn’t bother styling it that much at this point; she manages to pull off the look pretty well, as it turns out. The hair brings out her eyes (green). Mellie’s also fairly stocky, though she’s less obese and more big-boned. She tends to stick with large, baggy clothing, and has an extensive stock of hoodies.
Backstory: Mellie would describe herself as an average college student; she has a few friends that she goes out with sometimes, she plays video games instead of doing her homework, she stresses about what kind of jobs she can get with a structural engineering degree, all that. However, that's because Mellie has the self-esteem of a lemming; she's a student at one of the top universities in North America, where she is consistently among the top students in her year. She's also a member of her university's Duelist Club, and though she's not quite the best duelist there, she's won her fair share of their twice-yearly tournaments. Her entrance into the tournament, however, was a random drawing from among the top 8 people in the Duelist Club; as a result, Mellie feels that her entrance in the tournament was purely by chance, and is struggling with the idea that she's not good enough to be here. Fighting against such an ingrained behavior is difficult, though, especially when her own deck relies more on luck than most others do.

- Duel Disk: Standard duel disk, but heavily polished and shined.
- Appearance: Scott's personality is demonstrated and aptly shown by his mere appearance - he's a tall, muscular athlete, dressed in a red letterman jacket, a white short sleeved t-shirt, tight jeans, and expensive shoes. He has bright blond hair cut short and gelled back, blue eyes, and a nice tan. He usually has a smirk on his face. Despite his age, due to his familial wealth, he has a tattoo of a ring of arrows around his left bicep.
- Personality: Pretty much what you'd expect - Scott is a haughty Jerk Jock who takes this alpha male attitude to everything he does. Whether it be acting, sports or dueling, he is pushy, aggressive, and prone to bragging. He acts a bit dumber than he actually is, indicating despite the appearance, he has a functional brain in there. As he puts it "you can't run past Linebackers and be a dumbass."
- Backstory: Despite appearances and stereotypes, Scott Belgrove is a multi-talented sort - he's an athlete, a duelist, and a thespian. He's very popular for all three, and is exceedingly proud of this. He already has a history of more than twenty girlfriends in the space of the last year.

- Backstory: Yuria was... fished out of the ocean when she was a young child by an expedition team. They found her unconscious, but alive. One of the expedition members, Dr. Anna Mariana, took her in and raised her as a daughter. However, she has a breathing difficulty and needed to have implants in order to breathe normally. As a result, she has been home schooled for years. Now, Yuria is ready to step out of the facility and join the world.

@R Alexa21th Hmmm. I'm... conflicted towards this character.
I actually enjoy the idea of an Ambiguously Human character with more of a connection to Yugioh's supernatural side. Yes, there are gonna be supernatural things in this RP, it's Yugioh, its going to show up eventually. (Vrains being the exception... for now.) I also like the backstory of being found in the ocean and raised by marine biologists. Kinda reminds me of Hassleberry/Kenzan and Jim from GX and of course Mako from the original series.
Now on the other hand, I have two main problems. One, she's too supernatural. A blue skinned girl with gills feels too out of place in the relatively normal setting. Maybe tone it down so she's similar to how Elisa from The Shape of Water is Ambiguously Human, like an oddly pale skin tone or scars that resemble gills. The other problem is her deck. While I'll admit Atlanteans/Mermails are definitely past their heyday due to MR 4, they're still quite powerful and even won a nationals earlier this year, meaning they probably fall under the "Too Meta" rule. (Correct me if anyone feels otherwise, I've never played the deck and I rarely run into it on Dueling Book/Ygopro nowadays) The addition of Umi is a nice touch though, maybe switch the deck to focus more on that by using Phantasm Spirals?
I'm interested in this character, but as it is right now I'm sadly gonna have to reject it. If you're going to rewrite it, better do it fast.

Thanks! I guess without Megalo it'd be fine. I don't really see a problem with Diva, but can I request to remove "Toadally Awesome" instead? You could replace it with something like Nightmare Shark if you want to keep Bahamut Shark or you could replace both of them.
