Gundam Build Galaxy - A Gunpla Battle RP

The year is 20XX and Gunpla Battle after several successful shows and video games has reached a new height, using the latest VR technology combined with Gunpla Base and Battle Programming users are capable of more immersive fights inside their gunpla than ever before. Current other Mecha series are under rights negotiations for future updates, but Gundam has remained extensive with countless forms of customization and modification to supply potentially endless forms of Gunpla to use.

Character customization has been brought to the table with Genetic Types that give users certain abilities both on ground and in their mobile suit. Mercenary bands, customized spacecraft and more have also been devised, the potential is endless.

So tell us, do you wish to join?

Hello and welcome to the RP everyone, I recently got inspired to try my hand at making another Gundam RP and I figured why not make it so that everyone can use whatever Mobile Suit they want, Build Divers gave me some inspiration on how to go about it.

So, let's get down to business.

In actuality the gameplay mechanics won't matter too much as this RP is hopefully more character driven through it's events and fights and the text about character levels is just to serve as a reminder that this is a video game.

• Name: Jason Willburn
• Handle: Ageaso
• Age: 25
• Gender: Male
• Nationality: American
• Appearance: A slightly short African American man. His hair is black with red highlights and he wears a pair of glasses over his brown eyes. He wears a slapdash of outfits from different series. In particular he wear's the Celestial Being crew uniform with the top replaced with a Tekkadan jacket. Occasionally he switches this out for an outfit similar to Arisa Gunhale from AGE's.
• Skills: Jason is decent when it comes to piloting a mobile suit though he prefers to stick to the rear when it comes to group based combat.
• Genetic Type: Innovator
• Avatar Tools: Jason doesn't carry any weaponry on him. At most he carries spare parts for his gunpla.
• Other: I'm not entirely familiar with Gundam outside of 00, AGE, IBO, and the different Gunpla series so please forgive me if I screw up somewhere.

• Suit Name: AGE-2 Barbatos Gundam
• Base Model: AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal
• Modifications from Base: Jason has removed the ability to go into striker mode. In exchange he has added in a GN drive. He's also added a few cosmetic changes by using parts from the Gundam Barbatos's 2nd form.
• Description: It primarily looks like an unmodified suit though it has switched out the head and arms for that of the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos 5th Form.
• Specials: Can activate the Trans-Am System in order to move faster and improve combat performance. Spending too much time in Trans-Am mode causes it to slow down though.
• Weaponry: The weaponry is simple: a gun on each shoulder and a beam saber.

• Handle: Brigand
• Age: 24
• Gender: F
• Nationality: Osaka, Japan
• Appearance: Riga's going for a sort of 'rejected 08th MS Team character' look. She's 5'7.
• Skills:
  • Riga's a civic engineer for her actual job. You'd be surprised how often knowledge of city infrastructure and advanced math comes up in a shootout.
• Genetic Type: Oldtype
• Avatar Tools: Along with a standard Normal Suit when necessary and a pistol always, Riga's character carries a high-caliber single-shot pilebunker, intended to be planted on a disabled mobile suit's cockpit and used to execute a pilot.
• Bio: Riga is half Polish half Japanese and the great-granddaughter of esteemed mechanical designer Hajime Katoki. She was a little kid when Gunpla Battle was first getting its legs, and her family grew up in luxury, soaking up that Gundam Royalty Money! However, Riga was sort of less interested. The Katoki Estate was great, but she had more of a head for numbers and science than for art, and so she went into STEM as she grew up. The nature of vicious high-end academia grew on her, and she developed a vicious pride about her. Thus, when she came home and saw her great-grandfather get so horribly disrespected and defeated by Gunpla Battle Punks at a local tourney who didn't even know who they were dealing with, something catalyzed in her. She grabbed the old Endless Waltz figure she got for a birthday a couple years ago and went to town, desperate to prove the reputation of the Katoki and that she is, in fact, the baddest pilot around.

• Suit Name: Gundam Heavyarms ABSOLUTE UNIT
• Base Model: Gundam Heavyarms EW
• Modifications from Base: The double beam gatling has had its actual beam emitters replaced with a set of 6 beam sabers which still spin on their mountings just as the gatlings do. In place of a second cannon, Riga mounts a shield. The arrays of missiles and gatling cannons have had their payloads replaced as well. Riga went with paint cannons in the head vulcans and flashbombs mounted in the shoulder and side skirt missiles.
• Description: The ABSOLUTE UNIT has been completely repainted. It is now mostly a pastel purple with red highlights on the hip skirts, helmet, and weapons. The gaps in the joints are able to light up a bright red from within but these are literally light rigs intended to fuck with people.
• Specials: "Gaze in awe at the NUMBER OF THESE LADS!" Riga declares, then deploys the Heavyarms Cavalcade Mode. She has replaced the Heavyarms's famous flip-open chest gatlings with a pair of powerful transmitters that spoof her signal into dozens of controllable dupes on most sensor arrays.
• Weaponry:
  • Beam-drill gatling (see above)
  • Flashbomb munitions (see above)
  • Spoofer transmitter (see above)
  • Paint cannon vulcans (see above)

• Name: Sarah Fernandez
• Handle: Luna Midnight (Okay, so she was kind of a dweeb when she made this account.)
• Age: 18
• Gender: Female
• Nationality: Filipina, but has lived in NYC her entire life.
• Appearance: Allenby Beardsley, but blonde. She worked really hard to earn this Avatar too!
• Skills:
  • Sarah has literally pumped all her points and perks into piloting her Gunpla as smoothly as possible, CQC especially. She does...less well in everything else.
• Genetic Type:
  • AV Control - Handheld controls for the suit are done away with and the pilot controls the suit as if it was them, can be upgraded to 3 prong AV, with each prong adding better control. Cybernetics for the ground are also more easily accessed for upgrades.
• Avatar Tools: Pistol, combat knife, and a small digital camera (a tool for taking lots and lots of screenshots)
• Other: Is kind of a nerd. Most things she says are IC.
• Bio: Sarah is a second generation Filipina immigrant - she was born in the USA after her parents moved there. Growing up, she was awkward, clumsy, and painfully shy. She wasn't able to make much friends, and it wasn't even like she was good at schoolwork. An underachiever all around. However, what she was good at? Art. Drawing, painting, all of it. She put her all into it, and when she was thirteen, she discovered Gunpla while out shopping. She fell in love instantly, even marathoning Gundam, show after show. She admired the pilots who fought and excelled. When Gunpla battle was invented, she was too shy to take part. But now, in a virtual world? Now, maybe she can be someone else. Someone better than dorky, awkward, Sarah.

• Base Model: Nobel Gundam
• Modifications from Base:
  • The shoulder pads are bigger and more rounded to house the "Falcons".
  • The forearms are also quite a bite bulkier, taken from the Destiny Gundam, and armed with weapons of last resort, the Palma Fiocina.
• Description: Aside from the bulkier shoulder, arms and legs (admittedly only so the limbs wouldn't be mismatched), it doesn't vary too far from the base Nobel. The colors were changed to a blue and silver affair, and the "hair" is also recolored Silver.
• Specials:
  • Falcons: Docked inside the shoulder units. Two small AI controlled, triangular Funnels. The Artemis Nobel's only long ranged option.
  • The Berserker System has been disabled.
• Weaponry:
  • Beam Ribbon: From the Base Nobel.
  • Beam Bow: Mounted on left arm, taken from the Rising Gundam. Good for Mid-range, powerful penetration, but slow rate of fire.
  • Palma Fiocina Beam Cannons: Close combat, zero-range beam bolts. Located on the palms.

• Handle: Revenger
• Age: 24
• Gender: M
• Nationality: America, Southeast
• Appearance: Harry stands at about 5'5", with slicked back light red hair and somewhat broad shoulders, he is usually seen wearing a black jacket, white shirt, and brown cargo pants.
• Skills: Although he is new to the Gunpla... stuff, Harry has a knack for quick learning and improvisation, making him very unpredictable. He has a knack for being very creative as well.
• Bio: Some people go through unbearable hardship, tribulations, and abuse, only to come out better on the other side. Harry is not one of these people. Harry lived a normal life with a normal family, studying to become... something that can help him support a family of his own, becoming blind to the Gunpla craze as he looked to greater things. He also had friends, however, and as his friends nagged and nagged over basically all of his life, he finally gave into the craze. A normal guy, living a normal life, entering the world of Gunpla for the first time, he was immediately sucked in by the creative potential and the escape of it all, he guessed...
• Genetic Type: Newtype
• Avatar Tools: Harry holds two things: A hand cannon of unknown model and an industrial grade laser pointer.
• Other: I'm making my character new to Gunpla and all of that simply because I don't really follow or know the Gundam series beyond it being one of the longest-running mecha series and looking pretty cool, so my character and I can kinda learn together in a sense.

• Suit Name: MSZ-006 HAPPY GUNDAM
• Base Model: MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam
• Modifications from Base:
  • The Grenade Launcher Cartridge is equipped.
  • The ability to go into waverider mode is removed.
  • Due to the above removal, the left-hand blade is instead replaced with a hand cannon that fires a slightly more powerful version of the fire-linked blasts from the waverider mode.
  • The Vulcan gun is removed.
• Description: It looks like a normal model for the most part, but there was the aforementioned removal of the Vulcan gun, and there was a color change: Where there was white there is now a golden yellow, where there was blue there is now black, and where there was red there is now white.
• Specials:
  • HAPPY GUNDAM has speakers in the back, allowing it to blare music to pump its team and himself up in battle.
  • HAPPY GUNDAM carries over the Bio-Sensor from its base model: When Harry is mentally and emotionally focused enough, it will enter a mild overdrive state, amplifying the speed, strength, and power of HAPPY GUNDAM for a relatively short time.
• Weaponry:
  • 2-tube Grenade Launcher (With Cartridge)
  • A.E.BLASH XB-G-35/Du.105 Beam Saber
  • A.E.BLASH XB-G-35/Du.105 Beam Gun (Hand Cannon)

I added a bio. TLDR, Riga's descended from that Katoki and she wants to prove her family's integrity and badassery.

Nationality: Filipino, Manila-based

Appearance: Cal'd be a typical dude were it not for his full 6" height and solid 203 lbs weight. Brown-skinned and broad-shouldered, he favors clothes easy for his well-built form to move around in, outfits like jeans, boots, and button-down shirts. He smiles rather quickly, with a twinkle in his eyes.

His Avatar is a more idealized version of himself, done up in barbarian leathers reminiscent of luchador tights and tattoos. Lastly, he wears a hawk-hooded cloak.

Skills: Other than riding a motorbike and cooking, Cal's a licensed gym instructor with a focus on martial arts by day. It was this that solidified his choice in Gunpla.

Genetic Type: Oldtype

Bio: The worldwide appeal of Gundam couldn't be denied. And thanks to something as simple as making new episodes of their shows free to view on video streaming sites, Build Divers from all over the Pacific Rim and farther beyond signed up in record numbers. Among them was a simple athlete.

Carlos, who was "Caloy" to his parents and "Cal" to his foreign friends, grew up with the stories of larger-than-life heroes and their exploits. It was series like G Gundam and Gundam Build Fighters Try that inspired him to take his martial prowess and translate that into the game, where he fights for honor and pride.

Suit Name: Asura Burning Gundam

Base Model: BG-011B Build Burning Gundam◊

Modifications:

• Aside from its customized paint job, its back and torso are modified to fit 3 extra pairs of arms.

• Given that Cal's favored martial art is muay thai, the fists, elbows, and legs are reinforced with exaggerated armor.

Description: Not much different when compared to the base model. Its paint scheme seems to have more of that famous Gunpla red, with intricate sigils and filigree. with only the upper arms and thighs remaning white.

Weaponry:

• As befits a martial artist, the most notable weapons are the knuckle, elbow, and knee plating. These were inspired by the fists of the Gundam Titus and Maxter.

• Eighth Fold - A lotus-shaped flyer that can act as both flail and transportation. Under his command, it adds to his flight capability and automatically zips around in erratic patterns to crash and smash targets while the Asura closes in.

Interesting Gunpla, Eighth Fold is a unique choice but the melee piles might be a bit much.

Easily the coolest thing I've seen all day, and I've seen a way to put Ridley in Smash and the buffest Shovel Knight ever.

If you could, everything else about the idea is fantastic I must say.

Edited. Also, the idea of his Avatar is a bit more inspired by Galuda from Power Stone and the aesthetic of luchadores.

But yeah, Tizoc works too.

Much better, the erratic flight pattern is much better and prevents the thing from just spamming fists.

Hi, I saw your RP and seeing as I'm a big fan of mecha and love build divers, i thought i would try joining this rp if it is still open?

• Name: Brooklyn Browning.
• Handle: B.B.
• Age: 24
• Gender: Male
• Nationality: USA
• Appearance: tan skin, around 6 feet tall, silver/white-ish hair, constantly dressed in a federation pilot's uniform. kinda looks like this.
• Skills: B.B. tries to be an all rounder type so that he isn't lacking, but he's always better behind the controls of his giant robot, and when he's doing that he's better at ranged combat.
• Genetic Type: Old type.
• Bio: A laid back guy who loves gundam, he's been a fan of it since the US broadcasts of gundam wing, when he would stay up late to watch the uncensored runs on the midnight toonami run. He's however never been a big fan of zeon so a large portion of his collection is of federation MS despite zakus being more popular. The chance to actually play one of the federation machines he put so much love and care into building was one of the few times he was nearly bouncing off the walls in joy.
• Avatar Tools: can you tell me what we can have? I would probably just go with a submachine gun for if he gets shot down, thunderbolt style, and probably three grenades.

• Suit Name: RGM-79SPX GM Phantom
• Base Model: A GM Sniper II
• Modifications from Base:
  • leg armor borrows from the GM Stryker to be up armored.
  • the backpack has been modified to accept a bazooka rack like a normal GM
  • the beam sabers were shifted from the back of the waist to ontop of the back pack to give a standard gundam look.
  • a weapon storage rack was added to where the beam sabers used to be
  • The right forearm had a shorty beam gun from the G05 gundam attached to it
  • Left forearm had a grenade launcher built into it.
• Description: the base body is still quite recognizable as a GM Sniper II, but because of the add-ons the mobile suit has come closer to looking more like the original RGM-79. Though he's painted it black.
• Specials: There's nothing really special about the GM Phantom, it's pretty basic all things considered, barring the sniper visor to give it increased visual range at a distance.
• Weaponry:
  • Shorty beam rifle on right forearm
  • Grenade Launcher: packs 2 smoke grenades for quick escapes
  • two beam sabers or twin beam spear borrowed from GM striker
  • Hyper Bazooka
  • Shield
  • Sniper Rifle
  • Beam Spray Gun
