It seems like neither one is a perfect fit. Finger Gun is only about the gesture, but Finger Firearms is only about literal guns. I'd say Finger Firearms should be expanded to include magic and the like directed through fingers.
I missed the part where that's my problem.Generally, don't rely on how some pages define related tropes. The most important definition is the one on the page for the trope itself. "See also" doesn't mean the tropes are mutually exclusive. Likewise, "belongs to" doesn't mean that more than one trope cannot apply, but it's demonstrably misleading, so it should be edited.
Finger Gun is fitting if the gesture is the right one. It doesn't matter if it's required for the spell to work, or if the character just prefers to use it.
Hand Blast covers spells cast from the hand or fingers, so that's also a fit.
I'd say no to that. We already have Hand Blast that covers magic use, which also overlaps with Power Palms (but isn't a supertrope, since Power Palms also includes non-magical/power use).

While trying to figure out where to put an example I discovered that there's conflicting information given in the descriptions for Finger Gun and Finger Firearms. The contradictory sections are as follows:
In Finger Gun
In Finger Firearms (emphasis added)
So does a character using a Finger Gun gesture to use a magical spell (the example that prompted this thread) belong under Hand Blast (as per the Finger Gun page) or Finger Gun (as per the Finger Firearm page)?
