@48 It is more appropriate to say that there was no evidence in either iQiYi or WeChat to suggest the series ever was banned in China to begin with. Mighty convenient that these sources were stated as being tricky to verify, as well, don't you think?

So Eiko's the predator, not the teacher. I don't know how to feel about this. Wait, no, she's a freshman even, this is yabai. Eiko's in way too deep.

Also traps = nice. And Tama = best girl of the season.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Episode nine follows up from where the last one ended off: I'm sure viewers will find this one to be quite enjoyable. Curious to hear other thoughts on the episode's events!

Uh...Bikinis but no Beach.

Weird, but okay.

It's totally fine.

It’s actually kinda a common Bait-and-Switch in shows like this, Tama even points this out. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Girls Und Panzer specials come to mind off the top of my head.

Tama was a real riot this episode though with joke after joke and Kamuri actually getting in on it without even a hint of shyness. Eiko though is way too kind to play the Tsukkomi to Tama’s Boke though, it kinda loses a little of Tama’s effect.

Laughed at the fact that Tama practically acts as a Girl Watching Hormone-Addled Teenager, despite being a girl.

@ClockworkUniverses

I'm finally caught up. As of episode ten and its focus on Hana's concerns about being upfront with her friends, it looks like the blogger you've linked to is right on the money about where Slow Start is going. Their focus on the big picture, rather than small details, is what makes them so insightful.

As for the whole "banned in China" business, I'm just going to say that what you consider "conveniently tricky to verify" is my "people making stuff up for brownie points". Besides the occasional moment, nothing in the show is controversial.

[up] Episode eleven certainly reinforces that. It's a simple display of Hana and her friends enjoying a summer festival, summing up how far she's come, to be able to speak freely with her classmates and appreciate the moments that she's experienced.

I loved how Sengoku said she was going to invade Tama-chan’s place. A good joke on her name.

Slow Start is aptly named. It was quite pleasant to watch even if it didn’t do anything too novel with its premise. I suppose it’ll be left to the future when Hana makes her situation known to her friends, but the ending shows both Hana and Hiroe moving forwards at their own pace, so that’s a win.

[up]For now, anyways. The manga won’t end here, since Hana's struggle to tell her friend is the main conflict within the series. Hopefully, the show sells well enough to get a continuation.

Wish they had at least gone with her telling Eiko.

I think a second season is quite unlikely being A-1 making this season.

I fear that I may be losing my love of CGDCT series, but then I did really enjoy Mitsuboshi Colors. Slow Start started on an 8 and ended on a 6, while Mitsuboshi pulled the reverse. That's all subjective though.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
