The second is miles better than the first but neither's all that great.
I also got an image of Asgard getting destroyed. It's not much though, maybe it's best to wait until the film is on dvd so we have more options to choose from.
To the original. The way the camera is angled makes Hela look tall and imposing. The lighting effects make her out to be this daunting creature. There is also the fact she is literally standing in Hel.
None of them are good images. They all lack anything that's actually scary.
Saw the film today (it's good btw) and nothing stood out that would make a good image still. Voting BUPKIS.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?If someone is able to get a picture of scene where Hela literally uncovers a mural depicting Asgard’s history it MIGHT WORK. Why? Because we all thought that Odin was a (somewhat) reasonable authority figure. That image alone would be good, in hindsight at least.
Or just add the scene where Hela kills the valkyries and it’s raining Pegasi.
I know it might be a spoiler, but an image of the moment when Hela slashes out Thor's eye would be a good candidate.

Then don't post it.
Maybe it's best to wait until the film is out on Dv D, there will be some better images to choose from then.
Like I said, I saw the film and nothing makes for a good image. NF pages are better left BUPKIS because of how chronically misused the trope is.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Kyatollah added an image to the page and deleted the commented-out tag as well. I messaged the troper. Here is the image, it could work.

No it doesn't. It's just a character with her arm up. Nothing's NF about it.
Unless the Nightmare Fuel part is how fantastically blurry the image is.

How about a picture of the remains of the prisoner the Grandmaster melted with his stick? Admittedly, it's more "squick" and we'll have to wait a while until a hd picture is available...
I like the original.
Mileena MadnessI'd tend towards something from Valkyrie's bad memory sequence with Hela like in post #1 or #12. Though clearly there is some disagreement, the film explicitly portrays the whole sequence as her personal nightmare fuel that drove Valkyrie to become a Shell-Shocked Veteran, the stark black and white elements is visual quote of classic Gothic Horror films, and Spikes of Villainy quickly express monstorous visual elements to anyone looking at the picture.
Though as an alternative suggestion, if we could a shot of Surtur from below in the climax of the film, that would remove the issue of Surtur appearing as something that could be overcome with a clear opponent and less "scary" camera angle, a la the previous Surtur vs Hulk image.

What about Surtur from the beginning? I think we could also replace the awesome image with something else and crop out the Hulk to only show Surtur?

These images could still reveal spoilers for the movie though.
I disagree, the first image is from the very beginning of the movie and the second image was shown in the trailer.
It's not like trailers never spoil.
Check out my fanfiction! After seeing the movie yesterday, I’n not convinced that anything in it truly qualifies.
Now that I’ve actually seen it, I’m inclined to BUPKIS. none of the suggestions stand out as particularly scary; if anything in the film is particularly nightmare inducing it’s not because of the visuals. Not even the flashback Valkyrie sequence.

When the film comes out, how about we take the scene from the post credits scene, where Loki and Thor look above BEFORE the scene shows us the approaching ship.
too spoilery
I think an image of Surtur might be our best option. I don't know if anyone has a good image of the poor victim getting hit with the melting stick.

Or just the ship in general.
Now that the film has been released, I think we can vote for a new image. Here were the original images. I have not seen the film yet, so if there may be other good images.
