Yeah, she looks like she's in pain but happy...doesn't look dead
Yup. Looks like she's smiling or trying to, and some women bleed a lot during birth without dying. Plus I think it's technically considered a spoiler (the episode aired last year, but it's considered a big twist)?
How about the death of the Biblical Rachel◊, cropped to show the baby, the childbirth bed, and the people crying?

That's an improvement.
I like no. 3.
(OP is a great and well-known example, but it relies heavily on the knowledge of the work. And to quote Monty Pythons: she's not dead yet.)
If we're not too concerned about the spoiler, here's◊ an edited version of the same scene, with focus on the baby and Lyanna looking a bit deader.

I prefer 3.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportGoing to go with 3 on this one. It's a little cluttered with many people, but the emotions are obvious, and even with that, the baby is still clear.

(Annoyed grunt)3 looks good.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Good enough, let's go with it. Caption?
"I guess not always Babies Make Everything Better"?
No consensus on a caption; locking up.

Surprised by how this one turned out. Death still not obvious enough?
