Surprised by how this one turned out. Death still not obvious enough?

Yeah, she looks like she's in pain but happy...doesn't look dead

Yup. Looks like she's smiling or trying to, and some women bleed a lot during birth without dying. Plus I think it's technically considered a spoiler (the episode aired last year, but it's considered a big twist)?

How about the death of the Biblical Rachel◊, cropped to show the baby, the childbirth bed, and the people crying?

(OP is a great and well-known example, but it relies heavily on the knowledge of the work. And to quote Monty Pythons: she's not dead yet.)

I prefer 3.

Going to go with 3 on this one. It's a little cluttered with many people, but the emotions are obvious, and even with that, the baby is still clear.
