It really is. I adore the pastor not just because he's an interesting character (I *love* bad-ass preachers) but also because he makes shutting down the morons who call it anti-christian a very easy task.

I agree with you in every regard (Badass Preacher FTW).

I also like that he's black and apparently quite unlike the stereotypical black minister (he seems a lot more somber and understated than the stereotypical black minister).

That trailer was awesome. Like you guys, Badass Preachers are one of my favourite character archetypes.

Ubisoft recently did an amazing job rendering the Bolivian countryside in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, so much to the point that you could easily trick some people into thinking you actually took real-life photos of mountain ranges, jungles and other vistas.

I'm hoping that the tech used for Wildland's terrain is applied again with this latest installation of Far Cry, because the geography they created in the last two games didn't look terribly realistic.

I was specifically meaning any game where the character of the protagonist isn't in the player's hands. Technically, any RPG (especially Bioware ones) could have any kind of minority lead across multiple games.

I don't count those games when it comes to representation, or at least that of the main character. I am asked to represent myself to some extent, not a protagonist. I can make a white guy or a black guy. I could romance all the dudes with a dude or have a woman who romances no one. Feels cheap to then label that 'potentially minority lead' as representation.

I also don't really count visual novels anyway. Even then, I can think of maybe two visual novels of any quality/substance that are same sex dudes.

Plus, it might be easier to limit ourselves to AAA releases or just major releases at the very least.

I can't think of a single video game where the lead is a gay male. I can think of only one where the lead is lesbian, and that one would be The Last of Us with Ellie being gay. Two if you count Tracer in Overwatch, though the game itself never brings it up thus far.

I can think of one game with a black male lead; Telltale's The Walking Dead. I feel like I should know more, but that's what comes off the top of my head. Black Female Lead comes up with one result as far as I can remember and that's Remember Me. I can think of two games with an Asian lead: Mirror's Edge has an Asian Female Lead and, while I'm not sure how valid it is since I haven't played the game, Far Cry 4 was given an Asian Lead specifically to subvert the 'white american saves foreign natives' narrative.

And I kind of think that's sad to say. Its better than it was since a number of those games came out in the last 4 or so years, but its still only one or two for an entire race. That's sad.

Seriously though, there are black cult members, also the cult's cross greatly resembles the Scientology cross. Oh, and the cult leader's right hand man is a celebrity. So we probably get to kill a Tom Cruise Expy.

[up][up][up][up][up]The two Sin games on the Source Engine had a black guy as your character too.

Still isn't a very big lineup but every example helps. Beyond that I don't really play very many RP Gs that have a set lead to start with, so I can't help much.

I've never gotten very far into the Far Cry games, so I'm probably going to just watch over this one. I do like the alternate path I've heard about for 4, but considering it sounds like that's the more sane path to take, and it cuts the game down to fifteen minutes, I don't think I'd wanna get it.

Looking over the image again I noticed that the barn has the word "SINNER" spray panted fairly high up. Much too high to reach without a ladder, setting up scaffolding, or using some sort of powered lift.

Which does give me the amusing mental image of an angry cultist spending a good hour looking around the farm for a ladder or something else they could use just so they could spray-paint "SINNER" on the barn in a somewhat more visible place.

Judas was second on Jesus right in the last supper. In the last supper the 3rd from the right is Peter leaning over Judas.

Judas is actually looking in the direction of Jesus in The Last Supper painting - he's the third man to Jesus's left side. Check it out.

I believe the telltale signs of a Judas character is that he's portrayed as if taken aback or quietly surprised - the Supper involved Jesus announcing to his apostles that one of them would betray him shortly, after all. Also, he tends to be doing something that's traditionally taboo or part of folklore superstitions; for example, in the original painting Judas has his elbow on the table, and has also knocked over a salt shaker, both of which were subtle social no-nos at the time. Facially, he was trying to avoid direct eye contact with Jesus, so as if to avoid exposing guilt through his eyes. Problem is, I don't see anyone in the image doing anything considered taboo by modern standards; I'm ignoring all the booze and guns, of course.

Initially, I thought the proverbial Judas could be the guy holding the metal chain attached to the dog along with a knife over a piece of meat. You know, knives typically being associated with backstabbing, and the chain implying a need for control or being under another's control. However, Saint Peter is holding a knife in the portrait too, so that could imply that he's actually one of the more loyal followers who would become enraged upon Joseph Seed's arrest.

Curse my public school education.

So do we think the placement of people is supposed to correspond to their roles in the story or just whoever fit the pose the best? The US marshal with his hands up on the left; was there a law enforcement type in the apostles?

I just noticed the compound bow near the bottom of the shot. Maybe we'll finally get some different types of bows.

It's wholly possible it could be a right-winger who created the petition both of a desire of protest AND satire at the same time. Remember, that's generally how Trump's 4Chan supporters tend to roll - everything to them is a big joke, until it starts directly insulting or affecting them.

I love how they lop all Americans together by saying Anti-Americanism is on the outs in America. Um, no? After Trump even here it's spiked past previous levels. Plus the whole "Not every American is white, maybe the colored people whose shade you've been shooting up in previous games want some in reverse where they get to shoot you too" thing.

Did someone not see the trailer? With both black and white people as part of the cult?

You blow up half of a random Asian country and no one bats an eye. Set a game around a cult in an isolated area and everyone loses their minds.
