No, there is no policy against linking trailers, unless the link is the complete example.
Also the assumption that the people who go to a works page are only or even primarily people who have already seen it is not valid. People go to works pages for all sorts of reasons, not just to add or edit the content after they've seen it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Any objection to me removing trailer links for works older than a year?
Why? I mean, if it's in the description section, it's probably ok to remove. But if it's in the trope section to help provide context for a trope, then, no, it doesn't matter how old it is, it's an example and you need to leave it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.If the trailer is official I don't see any problem linking to it, even with older works.
Now linking to 5+ trailers however, no, keep it to 1.
I don't know about you but I find trailer links on work pages even for recent works misplaced. Examples:
- Doctor Strange (2016)
- Berserk (2016)
- The Jungle Book (2016)
- Assassin's Creed (2016)
- Class (2016)
- Suicide Squad (2016)
We are not in the business of selling anything and if users come to a work page it's very likely they do after having watched/read the work.Is there any policy in place for or against this practice? Can we have a cut-off date after which trailer links can be removed?
