I think that the name and image for Diagonal Cut are misleading. Diagonal Cut is basically Clean Cut plus You Are Already Dead. It's when you make a Clean Cut that is so clean that it passes right through the person/object and leaves no visible seam, and then it takes a second or two or an outside force to cause the person/object to fall apart. While the Kenjutsu-style cut from shoulder to hip that results in a delayed reaction is particularly famous, the result of that strike can also be a regular Clean Cut or even a realistically messy cut, and a Diagonal Cut that fits the trope can actually come from any angle. What doesn't make it into the trope name is the essence of the trope, which is the delay between the cut and the reaction. In fact, the whole Analysis page for the trope is misguided because it is analyzing the literal diagonal cut rather than the stylized version with a delay.

I think we need a better name that implies the delay, such as "You Are Already Cut" or "Belated Bisection" ("Delayed Bisection" is clearer, but the chance for alliteration is very tempting). While we're at it I propose we get a better picture. As is, it only shows cutting cleanly through a tatami mat, but the reaction it depicts is instantaneous and therefore not an example. I think we need a two or three panel sequence like the one illustrating You Are Already Dead to show the order in which everything happens over time.

Too weak a case for renaming a trope. Thus, declining to open.
