Crap, I don't know if I'll be able to see any of it live. I got finals stuff to do...
Also, I think it's kinda crazy that Inside is a contender for GOTY considering what happens at the very end.
I mean, a lot of it (like 95% of it) is very cinematic and that's good! It's just the last 5% of it that's left me scratching my head...
On the other hand, I do want to see Hideo Kojima get what's rightfully his and a lot of the announcements they made last year got me excited, so maybe it evens out?
I wonder if Kojima's introduction will be as elaborate as the one he did in E3 2016...(seriously, who doesn't think that was epic?)
For alot of people, that Last 5% is why the game is unforgettable to them.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I honestly wasn't expecting that kind of response...
Huh. Well I guess they're not wrong, but...huh.
Kudos to Keighley for trying his damnest to make a decent awards show for videogames that isn't some glorified Doritos commercial with god-awful cameos and what-not, like Spike TV previously did.

Yeah, that's all I really know Keighley for. Being the Dorito Pope. Is he actually any good at his job?
Surprisingly, yes.
Watch SymphogearI mean there was that Take That! he made to Konami during the Game Awards last year...
He gets alot of bad rap, but apparently everybody who personally knows him or helped him set up events have a pretty positive opinion of him. The major issue was how he'd need to get sponsors onboard to support and fund the award shows he wished to make, and how those advertisers would often have obnoxious conditions which he'd have to feature in the show. For example, the constant barrage of dude-bro stuff from Mountain Dew, Dorritos, weirdo celebs, pop-music bands, etc.
You do what you gotta do to thrive, after all.

He's easy to make fun of due to the industry he's attached to, but I think Geoff's a cool guy. He does at least try, he seems like a decent person, and I have alot of respect for him sticking up for Kojima at the previous Game Awards.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Okay, fair dos. I have heard a lot of stuff about him that seemed a bit shady but from what you folks have said he seems to have some cojones. Cool.
Keighley is more or less a spokesperson for the AAA industry. Which is fine. He does care about the industry and wants it to have a greater prestige, hence this event. It's just important to remember why and how he's got so many connections that he's able to set up events like these.
Whenever he was on the Electric Playground on G4 I didn't really like him because he was a suck up in interviews.
I don't have a problem with him personally because I don't know him. I just didn't like when he was interviewing developers. But outside of that he was good at what he did.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureJason Schreier is teasing something Batman related. Could be yet another Telltale thing, but we're well overdue on the rumored Suicide Squad/Damian Wayne game.

No Japanese games?
Zelda will be there. It's not inconceivable that Square or FromSoftware shows something. Aside from that, this is more or less made by the AAA western industry for the AAA western industry. Not sure why you would expect much from Japan.

We're supposed to get Kingdom Hearts III news this month, so there's a (small) chance of that showing up.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The pre-show should start any minute now.
Zelda is supposed to have some sort of experience. There's supposed to be a trailer during the pre-show, but if there something else?

Pokemon GO wins best mobile/handheld and best family game.
Fighting: Street Fighter V
VR: Rez
Most Anticipated: Zelda
Present: Kojima
Is it just me, or did someone write that intro video specifically with 2016 in mind? "The world is shit, and video games are important because they let us escape to and imagine a better one."
People call these media events fake, but that wasn't. That resonates. No cynicism from me, not from this.
Also, holy shit, major respect to Geoff Keighley for righting Konami's wrong at last E3.

yeyHere's Nintendo's upload of the pre-show trailer:
I'm surprised Keighley didn't get on his knees and propose to Kojima.
I totally forgot about this!
What is this???
I'm surprised the whole gaming community didn't.
Where there's life, there's hope.
On December 1 at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, Geoff Keighley's now annual award show will air. What were the best games of the year? The best production values? The most popular players?
Nominees are here. Games are eligible if they released between December 2015-November 24, 2016.
The big one:
Youtube. Twitch.
In addition, there will be many world premiers (trailers), and Keighley has promised to present more gameplay and less CGI. Right now we know:
It's always interesting to see what the industry thinks the crown jewels of the year are.
