One spell/item can be cast on the same turn as an attack. You also need a target, otherwise you're gonna end up using it on yourself.
Be careful of that TAC bar. It's not as friendly as you may think...

Cast "Cure" on Tranquilis, and since we can attack as well as cast spells, pick up a stick to use as a staff and hit him with it.

Whoops, can't heal on the same turn as arriving apparently. Sorry Armoured.
We'll get creamed at this rate. I point at Ze Operator and use a Slow spell.
Instead of attacking, I use my remaining time to check inventory for a multi-target heal item that I can use next turn.
