Also of note: previous thread.
Moon◊I prefer the Gravity Falls one. The Pingu one just looks like she's putting her flipper up to his face.
So, from what gathered from the previous thread, it seems like the main contention with the options is that they either are unclear or come from media not necessarily aimed at kids. While I think that the Gravity Falls image works well, I'd like to suggest some images from Klonoa. Both games I'm taking screens from are rated E, but they definitely go places that make me wonder what the ESRB was thinking when they gave out that rating. 1 isn't entirely explicit, but shows some themes that are a bit heavy for children (in my view, I could always be reading too much from my own knowledge), 2 is downright creepy, but doesn't show much in terms of theming, and finally 3, which is more of the creepy stuff you find at the end of this "kid's game".
Edit: apparently the "no external links" rule for new accounts includes links to media uploaded to the site itself too. uploading the references below.

I need to update these things more oftenThey're all pretty low-quality IMO. I like the Gravity Falls one because it clearly looks like a kids' cartoon, whereas the other pictures, no matter how scary they are, a pretty much JAFAAC without something to indicate that they're supposed to be for kids. Those pictures in particular look like they're from an M game.
Yeah, I can understand that sentiment, I know due to my own overwhelming nostalgia that my suggestions are more likely to be JAFAAC, though I still wanted to field them as options. I am wholly in favor of the Gravity Falls pic, though.
I need to update these things more oftenClock is set.
So, are we all in agreement over the Gravity Falls image, then?
There's a problem: If we go with the Gravity Falls image, it'll be a duplicate with its NF page.

How about The Beast from Over the Garden Wall? Like, the two second shot of him in the light and you see he's made up of tree faces? I can't add an image link.
(finger guns) sup?My one objection to that image is the same as Tropes Forever's to my own suggestions, namely that I can't tell from the image that it's from children's media. Granted, unlike my suggestions the image quality is actually good, so I guess I'm fine with it if others are.
I need to update these things more often13 or current are okay in my opinion.
''“You want a planet? I’ll give you a planet! Heck, I’ll give you your own solar system! No, I’ll give you a house... in Boca Raton! This image of Lavos from Chrono Trigger could also work: [1]
What a beautiful duwang... CHEW...Lavos is just a giant tick.
Check out my fanfiction!I wouldn't say it's just a giant tick, but the picture would need t be much bigger.
What I mean is that it's just a monster of some kind. It doesn't really illustrate the trope. And as a minor note, it's not an example.
Check out my fanfiction! But it IS an Eldritch Abomination, how is that not scary? and worse because Chrono Trigger is K-A
What a beautiful duwang... CHEW...For me it looks just weird. And it's so small that I am not sure if I am looking at an animal or a flower.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIf you find it so scary, head over to Nightmare Fuel. It's not scary enough that it would make the rating of the game higher just by its own presence.
Check out my fanfiction!Anyways, I believe the trope is more about something which thematically is unsuited to children's works, not just scary. This partly makes it hard to choose an image because the image needs to both convey that it's from a work suited for general audiences and exhibit more adult themes. Lavos in this case is equally bad as my own third suggestion, it's just a creepy boss from an otherwise E rated game.

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.Ahem. You guys are missing the obvious choice: Bill-Spider chasing the Pines twins during the finale! If someone can find a good shot of that....
So, the story behind the page images is that it started with a scene from Pingu which showed the titular character's parent hitting him, with the caption "Abusive Parents on a kid's show? No thanks." The image was later changed to one from Gravity Falls, which I never saw. The reason I'm here, though, is because of the current page image, which comes from Watership Down.
Now, the trope itself is about shows/movies/what-have-you aimed at children that has decidedly non-child-friendly things in it, much like the Pingu example above. The thing is, though: Neither the film Watership Down nor the original novel were ever aimed at kids. The novel is under "Young Adult" sections, and the film is rated PG. (Which, contrary to popular belief, does not mean "for kids". It means "adults should preview this before showing it to younger audiences.")
Honestly, I preferred the Pingu image.
