I'm pretty sure Hobgoblin used a flaming sword as well, and might've been the first one.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I didn't know that... no wait, I think I do remember an appearance by Donnie Gil in an old Iron Man comic where he was implied to be quite young, and seemed to hint that he wasn't necessarily the first Blizzard. I'd just forgotten.
Also, according to Rogues' Gallery Transplant on This Very Wiki, Blizzard did become part of the Web-slingers Rogues gallery at some point when Tony's tech became superior to his own.
One Strip! One Strip! The irony is that the flaming sword was less of a weapon than the gauntlet. The sword is more focused, and could be used to cut through things, but not make waves of fire or a random golem the way the ice gauntlet did.
Yeah, they could have popped in a line about restoring glaciers or something.
With this show, I've learned not to think about the details too hard. For the sake of my own sanity.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.Peter's failure to realize Flash Thompson had helped pull Venom off of him until the final act kind of annoyed me. Kinda wish the Venom!Flash fight had lasted longer, too.
On another note, I was a little cautious that they'd force in Tony (even if in this instance it would have made some sense), and then belted out a "YES" when it turned out the Avengers were on a spacefaring adventure.

I've been seeing previews for this show, and I can't get over the art style. Something was bugging me about it, and I couldn't put my finger on it.
After seeing a few clips on youtube, I realized it was the lack of shading. Nothing seems to have any weight or depth, and the characters don't seem to interact with the backgrounds, which also look flat. The use of shadows is inconsistent as well, adding to the disorienting feel.

Yeah. I actually like the art style and prefer it to how generic and lifeless Ultimate's designs looked. But the lack of shadows and some darkness makes everything look cheap and drab. I think the Hulk's design is the worst offender.
Btw, the new Venom episode came out.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).So we get our first glimpse of Mary Jane but she's only seen in-costume as the tiger mascot. Clever. Wonder if this'll be an ongoing thing where they hide her in plain sight
They did something similar in the comics didn't they?
Not surprising to me that they'd do that with MJ. Hopefully, she's shown some respect, just like in Spectacular.
One Strip! One Strip!I wouldnt be suprised if she becomes Spinnerette or Iron Jane with how this show works
She got Spider powers in Ultimate (I'm unclear how) so I wouldn't be shocked. And she was mostly Demoted to Extra in that series too. Hell, I didn't even know she was going to be in this series, so who knows.
One Strip! One Strip!Regarding Ultimate Spider-Man: Mary Jane got infected by the Carnage symbiote, dubbed "The Carnage Queen", and became The Dragon for Morbius temporarily during the Symbiote Saga arc of Season 4.
After being rescued, and a couple of episodes later, she becomes "Spider-Woman" using remnants of the Carnage symbiote still inside of her. Basically, the only way to make her relevant in a season focused on Spiders.

So just finished the ep.
Even Peter was kicking himself over not considering Flash. I could see it though. He also admits he was focused on how smart the person was.
On a different note, this might be straight up the nicest version of Flash in Spidey history.
One Strip! One Strip!@Venom: I like how this show is making the alien symbiote itself the true villain behind Venom. It doesn't need Eddie Brock to bond itself with - it could latch onto anyone and turn them into Venom like it did with Flash and the football players here. That actually makes Venom a lot scarier.
New episode was a little Anvilicious about how being Internet Famous ultimately doesn't amount to much, but holy shit when I read the summary, I was NOT expecting Screwball to be Liz. She was a lot of fun here, so I hope she gets to bring her Screwball stint back in future episodes.
Also worth noting is that Robbie was voiced by Ernie Hudson, there was a blatant Ship Tease between Peter and Gwen ("I think what I was missing....was you"), and while Hammerhead kind of sucks, I still immensely enjoy him because of Jim Cummings.

So was it just me, or were there a few moments where Pete's spider sense should have been warning him but didn't?

One Strip! One Strip! In TV shows, how often does the Spidey-Sense work like it's supposed to do?
Wake me up at your own risk.As far as I can tell, it mainly works by informing him of danger just in time to be unable to avoid it anyway.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Really, because usually his reflexes are sharp enough that too late is rarely actually too late.
Quite a few times in the comics he's gone completely on autopilot and let his Spider Sense guide him him, and sometimes his reflexes just take over and move him out of the way before he even knows what's going on.
So it's odd that he's so slow sometimes.
One Strip! One Strip!Spider-sense is an extremely useful power, and combined with his reflexes makes it where most things can't hit him unless there's too many to dodge.
Hence why writers keep on finding ways to get around his spider-sense. Or they ignore it for the sake of the story.
Avengers Assemble and Guardians of the Galaxy, or Marvel's Spider-Man? Please let it be the former if it's not just a rumor.
It says all three are getting axed, and speculates it's to make way for F4 and X-Men cartoons.
Huh damn poor Spidey.
I guess its an omen considering how this thread was silent for so long.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm guessing the upcoming seasons (season two of Marvel's Spider-Man, Avengers: Black Panther Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy, season 3) are going to be the last ones. There's still going to be a lot of content left.
EDIT: Here's the actual source.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).
Cause this dude was named Randy Maclan instead of Donald Gill.
Yeah, three, as the one the show used is the third one with Gill himself being the second.
