Needs Help: Ten With A Two

First of all, I got confused with the name of this trope. I thought it had something to do with Cast Calculus or something. Wouldn't Beer Goggles be a better name since it's more familiar for those outside of bar culture and those who aren't into sliding scales?

Update: I have checked Beer Goggles, and the page is empty, and Larkmarn pointed out that there are only a few wicks (24) in this page, even though it's a common trope.

This seems straightforward. At only 24 wicks, this is severely underperforming for a very common trope.

Ten with a Two, at best, sounds like a version of Ugly Guy, Hot Wife. Nothing there implies someone's perceptions of someone are being altered, especially by alcohol. "Not mentioning alcohol and only obliquely mentioning attractiveness in the name of a trope about alcohol and attractiveness" seems like it should be a strike against.

At worst, it sounds like a form of Cast Calculus, which is even farther from the true trope.

We've got an underperforming trope, a probable cause for it, and it's an easy fix. I'd say we make a single-prop crowner but I feel like that won't even be necessary. Beer Goggles is a very common term for it and makes it fairly clear what it's about.

Let me put it this way: Right now, Beer Goggles, despite being a Red Link and the fact we don't have a page for it, currently has 1/24 as many wicks as Ten with a Two and 15% as many inbounds. The fact that the trope that doesn't exist is still getting any kind of numbers like that is just wrong.

Oh geez. Rename it to Beer Goggles. The current name is not only unintuitive, it's actively misleading, plus "Beer Goggles" is the common term for this.

Oh for goodness sake, I think someone was being waaaay too "witty" when coming up with that name when the common term for this is just as witty as what they came up with, while having the benefit of being light-years more clear. change to Beer Goggles

Seconding rename to Beer Googles.

The only way I can see preserving this with its current title is to split it into specific instances where the Beer Goggles actually led to a hookup. Otherwise, I agree to shifting it to Beer Goggles and noting the "2 with a 10 / 10 with a 2" as a consequence.

I know it's only been like day, but the crowner has 21 votes with zero dissenting. Geez.

Yeah, I don't think this one is going ot have any dissension, but we'll still leave the crowner up at least three days. (Admittedly, that's partly because I'm really curious to see how many votes it gets.)
