Given how she acts after you beat her, and other characters' conversations about her after I'm kinda leaning towards the neurotoxins did everything and she was a nice person, or at least a strict parent before and not an abusive one.
The Protomen enhanced my life. She kinda lost herself after her husband dissapeared, and then dependency set in.
Seriously, you should be able to take those three to visit Poke Pelago.
Wonder how much of everything could've been avoided if someone who knew Mohn had just decided to give their Pokémon some R&R.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobI'm in that camp as well. Like, all the comments point towards her being a good, caring, albeit strict, mother before all the shenanigans happened.
[insert complaint about the only female main villain not really being evil ]
The Protomen enhanced my life.I was hoping for the "GET OUT." voice from Donkey Kong 64.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm not really too keen on blaming everything Lusamine did on "lol Neurotoxins did it, she did nothing wrong" because it feels like it's absolving her of any agency and pinning the blame on an outside force. Even Lillie said she scolded her and made her realize what she did was wrong and the characters don't make any distinction on it being neurotoxins or not.
I'm really glad the game cleared that up because that would have felt like a copout excuse for her actions if it just went with "She's actually decent without the neurotoxins".
Like seriously, what's wrong with her just falling into madness and codependency after her husband disappeared and became obsessed with spreading her "love" everywhere?

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I found the neurotoxin excuse kinda lame, but it doesn't remove her accountability: her problems were still there the whole time, Nihilego just augmented them. Lillie calling her out is still pretty valid and is a Crowning Moment Of Awesome of its own.
... And that's called jazz!I suspect that Pokemon Stars will reveal that Mohn has a case of Easy Amnesia, so he doesn't end up looking like a deadbeat dad.
Yea, but I feel like Lillie calling her out has a lot more weight when Lusamine is fully accountable and not just partially. The neurotoxin excuse feels like a copout because it means, that even if she was still aware of her actions and their affect on people, the fact would remain that they are influenced by an outside party and therefore, while still accountable, would still not have full culpability.
So yea, glad the neurotoxin excuse was Jossed, especially since it makes Lillie trying to reconnect with her even more heartwarming.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Was it jossed? No statement from Word of God said anything about it. If anything it's not jossed until the next game says anything on it.
Or like most things in Pokemon, it'll be dropped and forgotten in the next game
Who said it didn't effect her in any way? I'm pretty sure you learn it does in the post game.
The neurotoxin thing always came across as a Lighter and Softer version of Reaper Indoctrination, though the neurotoxin is nowhere near as horrific as Indoctrination.
As long as it's agreed upon to not be mind control, IMO she has as much fault for any crimes just like any alcoholics and druggies out there who did anything bad.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!, I'm in the post-game right now, I've talked with Wicke and I've talked with Gladion. No mention of it.
The only time it's mentioned is in Nihelgeo's pokedex entry, but that's not exactly confirming anything either. So as far as the game is concerned, it's all on Lusamine.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I think there are a lot of implications for both ideas on how it effected her, maybe it's up to player interpretation?
My headcanon is that she became obsessive on researching Nihilego after her husband vanished, but wasn't quite an abusive parent until she came in contact with it's neurotoxin and that made her obsession spiral out of control to the point where she forgot her original goal.

Basically. It's just that when the tidbit about the neurotoxins came out, the entire character page was plastered with "It was the neurotoxins guys, they didn't do anything wrong I swear"
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So that qualifies her for Draco Meteor when her fans think she's clean as a whistle.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I wish the developers would do Q&A sessions like HAL have with the recent Kirby games so we could just clear this nonsense up once and for all...
Trans rights are human rights.I just realized that once Pokebank is released and allows transfer from the Virtual Console versions of Red/Blue/Yellow it will be possible to have a Poliwrath with both Fissure and Mind Reader.
No Guard Fissure Machamp is way faster to set up...
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Oh my fucking goooood. I will never turn off the Exp. Share whenever I replay this game, this is actually unforgiving. I beat the game and I'm still like seven levels underleveled trainers in the post-game.
I can't even go train without being thrown Level 61...fuck.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I kind of wish that Silvally's Speed when it evolved mirrored Arceus' more.
Like if it had gone from 59 speed to 119 speed, that would have been pretty cool.
But oh well, we gotta have all the stats be the same. :/
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else
One thing I wanted to say about Lusamine is that she reminds me of One Punch Man, when Saitama encountered Sonic for the first time:
Lusamine: I want to extend my love to all Pokémon!
Me: Liar. you just want to set the Ultra Beasts free. I can tell by that child-like smile on your face.
... And that's called jazz!
