Well now, we've learned a few things today:

• There's a sink on sight order for the Harekaze, and no port will apparently give them safe harbor now.
• Subs are apparently exclusively male, and they're crewed by male students.
• Wilhelmina confirms that there's a weird case of mass-brainwashing going on, as she mentions the electronics all going out, followed by the crew of the Spee acting strangely.

Also damnit, Wilhelmina's name.◊ Who names their kid Wilhelmina Braunschweig Ingenol Friedeburg? Is she some Junker's (I mean Prussian nobility when I use this) kid or something?

EDIT: Y-467 by the way is the Harekaze.

So we have a ton of "lost" ships◊, but they're not saying whether they're like the Harekaze and on the lam, or they're among the ships that literally went rogue and fired on their comrades unexpectedly.

Anyway I see the following as red:

Something weird - really weird - is going on.

Also, I find it rather suspicious that all "red" ships are more or less grouped together on the map. It's almost like source of the problem is hiding somewhere nearby. Hm...

So basically what we're saying is that anyone not on the Harekaze is likely already dead. Hrm.

Also looks like Phenotype Stereotype is in full swing with our resident German being blonde, blue eyed, and with a bust that looks like she shoved a pair of melons down her blouse. =/

Well, Weimar-era Germany theme and all that. Also, even though the "Minna" nickname theory just got shot down, I still had a laugh at Akeno calling Wilhelmina "Mii-chan." (Just replace "-chan" with "-kun" and...)

Heck, at first glance, Wilhelmina immediately reminded me of Niku Sena Kashiwazaki.

Well, the conspiracy is getting more obvious. But it looks like the school is taking steps to deal with it. Plot is surprisingly decent for this type of show

Is the I-201 related to any of the submarines featured in KanColle (e.g.: I-19, I-58, I-168, I-8, or perhaps U-511/Ro-500)?

Also, Nioi (which I assume is also based on the naming convention for some of the submarines mentioned above)...can also mean (or sounds like the Japanese word for) "smell." Kinda fitting since it's run by a bunch of boys who live and work in cramped spaces...

And since the staff were inspired by the movie version of The Hunt For Red October and its a (nighttime!) antisubmarine battle...

MVP of this night battle: Wilhelmina, for her greatly needed submarine combat knowledge, and Ms. Marikouji, for keeping up with the sonar play-by-play.

Well I suspect of a Subliminal Messaging that occurred in the ships which lead them to go WTF and started attacking.

After hearing that German girl said "Germany is home of Submarines" I feel that WW 1 or WW 2 still had happen and developed their powerful submarines.

Ok, it's confirmed that most of the ship is automated as said in the Harekaze's guns. But on everything else, like using those ASW-weapon, manual rotating of Torpedo Mounts and aiming of guns are still need a crew to do it.

Whatever happens in the 4th episode will be even intensified...

Whatever that triggers their mutiny is again because of it. Not exactly brainwashed but something was flogged into their heads which causes them to go into it.

Also someone please tell me I wasn't the only one screaming IT'S A TRAP! at the screen when they read out the "return to the school, we'll protect you" message?

Again, nothing said on-screen suggests that at all.

How does "They cut the power, then stopped following orders" mean brainwashing?

Then again I'm still trying to get my head around how we got from "there's no way to make this ship fly" to "there's no heavier than air flight in this universe".

I'm more surprised at the lack of SPECULAH. By this point both Sora No Woto and Madoka Magica had scads and scads of WM Gs, but here? Zilch. It's like the people you'd expect would start spewing those had already left the military anime fandom. Even /a/ is surprised at how there are only TWO major theories right now: CONSPIRACY TO TOPPLE THE MUNETANI FAMILY and DEEP SEE ALIENS TURNING EVERYONE TO MINDLESS ZOMBIES.

Didn't you ready my previous post? SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING which occurred before the "Harekaze Incident" of course they'll not mention that, unless something else happened.

I'm still not seeing what you're basing this theory on.

So, speculation. I think the ultimate goal of the conspiracy is to get rid of the Blue Mermaids and use the ships for war. The villains are Japanese nationalists

You know, there is a faster way to achieve that. While the ships themselves are armed, it doesn't look like the girls are capable of mounting an effective defense once they are boarded. And zeppelins DO exist in the universe... So, paradrop a few commandos per battleship, and you have a fleet to take over an island nation.

I support the conspiracy theory myself (for double the fun, lets have Furushou join said conspiracy due to an incredibly petty reason — like Munetani-mom flunking her during one practical exam when she was a student), but there's enough to point to DEEP SEA ALIEN MIND CONTROL too. The sudden-ness of the turning of the crews (especially on the Graf Spee, whose crew would have to had spent at least a month at sea together before even GETTING to Japan) can't be easily explained by indoctrination or sleeper agents.

I pretty agree to what that guy said, they're attempting to remove the Blue Mermaids and reuse the ships for war.

As Submarines existed in this areas and Mii-chan mention that her country is home of it, had extremely show that WW 1 or WW 2 still happen but in a different way.

Do we know the specifics of HOW World War Two happened in Girls Und Panzer after all this time? Nope!

That's kind of exactly what's happening here. They're cherry-picking stuff that would point to an alternate timeline, but they're not going to give much details about the actual deviations.
