Chapter 20 out... It's getting a bit interesting. Tarou falling in love with his own "delusion" is not quite the development I expected, but it has potential, thematically.

"Passable, I guess. ( )"

Chapter 21 is out! And 22… and 23 and 24. ò.Ô

This new arc… makes me a bit uncomfortable, honestly. Hokking up Noa and Miyakonojou was one thing, but deliberately trying to make a guy break up with his girlfriend is probably something they shouldn't do. Plus, considering Eve obviously has a consciousness of her own, casually talking about erasing her just sounds… cruel.

Also, Noa is the best.

Well, the guy obviously likes the childhood friend back, else he wouldn't get jealous over her walking together with Ibusuki.

But yeah, the girlfriend would the casualty here. Unless they made her into an unlikable bitch so we don't feel bad for her, but that's the cheap way out.

I think they would stop at letting him know her feelings, but let them decide for themselves.

Never mind, I just read chapter 25. This is kind of a conundrum. While making him break up with his girlfriend might seem wrong, on the other hand letting him date her while not being in love isn't quite right either.

The issue is finished quickly in the manga, but I suppose the fans won't treat it so.

So yeah, I think we definitely have more context about what happens in a few chapters (aka the raws).

So Riri's grandfather IS planning on announcing "Ririto's" engagement to Ebino, because he figures, if his grandchild is dead-set on being a guy, might as well make him a "true" inheritor. Of course, Riri's grandma is having none of this, which is why she prepared a white gown and wig for Riri as a counter, in order to force Riri to accept her femininity. Riri, not agreeing to EITHER her grandparents' plans, decides to run away for the evening... except she's wearing the gown and wig when she does so. The problem is Tarou encounters Riri in this getup and mistakes her for Eve (who had wandered off during the party).

Of course, the two have this bit of heart-to-heart, but THEN Tarou notices that "Eve" doesn't have the oppai. Riri gets angry, kicks Tarou off the tree, and the latter forgets about what happens and thinks its just a dream. ^^;

Status Quo is KING in this series, I tell you, as far as Tarou is concerned.

So essentially Tarou's love interests are gonna be engaged to each other, I must admit that's a new one. XD

The status quo thing is getting a bit tiresome.

I didn't even realize there was a guy with glasses attending the party with them and hanging at Tarou's house until I read the scanlation. XD

And spoilers for the last chapter, Ibusuki looks lovely in that wig and dress

Chapter 27! I think the scanlations are almost caught up, now? There's what, 2 chapters left?

Anyway, yeah, going by the last cliffhanger of this sort, this probably won't get anywhere. :x Ibusuki has kinda pushed herself in a corner, with her "becoming a boy but only temporarily" stance. On one side she has her grandma who wants her to be a girl again, and her grandpa who insists that his daughter become his son and marries a woman, ignoring all the "technical issues" and diplomatic incidents this could bring (though I guess there'd still be the adoption card or something).

Tarou's Covert Pervert tendencies are less and less covered. And Hitoyoshi is the Shimada of this series, it seems. Whether he's a more or a less creepy Shimada is up to debate.

If Hitoyoshi can be half as entertaining as Shima, I have no problem with it. Although I don't know whether that would fit the tone of the series.

The thing is, Hitoyoshi's perversion is all internal. None of this manifests in the real world, and indeed, the only reason WHY we know he's perving on Ebino is because Tarou could see first love zombies.

Unlike Shima, who's a pervert OUTSIDE as well.

I don't think we'll ever see a character in this manga at the level of Shimada. He's his own thing that doesn't work in many other series.

I gotta say, Granny was awesome in this chapter.

Chapter 36, sports festival. I wonder if there's some kind of convention to put it around there.

I wonder how there can still be guys who haven't had their first love yet in this school, when they can fall in love in seconds by just seeing boobs bounce…

Tarou is getting too old for this shit.

…Ebino/Ibusuki is actually a ship I could get on.

Chapter 40: Here comes the Yuri! Or not, she doesn't have a zombie…

Anyway, it might be interesting if she can somewhat shake up the main characters' dynamic.

There hasn't been any indication that girls have first love zombies at all.

Hm… True. Or at least they're not visible to Tarou. We still don't really know that much about the gender-specific aspects of FLZ's actually… I hope the series will at least mention eithe male FLZ's or cases of homosexuality… The story would just feel incomplete if it didn't explore that. So far even the female Ibusuki only sees female FLZ's above guys, but it was passed on to her by Tarou, so…

Digging this thread back, since the series is finally getting out of the flat zone. The last few chapters have been quite good I must say − not necessarily surprising (it was quite obvious that Ebino would be the first to discover Ibusuki's gender, and the the Love Epiphany during the balcony scene is something Nisekoi already did…) but at least there's some genuine dilemma being put in place now.

Also, Tarou might literally be in love with three girls if you count Eve… Except if he choose either of the 'real' girls, Eve will fall into slumber or disappear.

So I started reading this one and am on chapter 42. I have to say, I don't really like what I think the story is pushing as the main ship. I just don't like Ibusuki as a love interest. My favorite of the three would be Eve but she surprisingly gets a lot less screentime than I've have expected. And normally I'd think that falling in love with your own fantasy would send a really unhealthy message buuuuut she clearly isn't apart from her physical appearance. She's a lot dimmer and more excitable than the real person, but that doesn't seem to be what Tarou considers ideal.

Having that dude break up with his girlfriend was pretty questionable for me too.

Best girl so far is nerd delinquent.
