I've thought for some time now it would be a laugh to put together a Periodic Table of things that appear to exist in the Hollywood universe.

First- lets identify the elements: I'll start with

Explodium – What ever it is that makes vehicles (and in one movie a cannon) explode on impact.

Bulletproofium – what they make car doors, and furniture out of.

I've put this on another Fora, I may link in a few days

Stupidium — often taken in massive doses by the comic foil sidekick. The hero, who is not on such a regimen, is made to look super-competent and highly intelligent by comparison, even if he's only an Everyman.

Villairon - Chief atomic component of Offscreen Villain Dark Matter. This element is self-replicating allowing harvesters of it (usually villains) to have an effectively unlimited supply.

MacGuffinite — Nobody has ever been able to precisely identify what MacGuffinite is, since its basic composition seems to change with every instance of its occurrence. But it can provide huge amounts of motive power for both protagonists and antagonists alike.

Handwavium — a substance that makes the impossible possible within a fictional format. However, excessive amounts may trigger an allergic reaction from the audience.

Retconium—An almost universal solvent, able to dissolve any plot point too problematic for it's own good. Note that it is very tricky to use—applying too little could result in the possibility in the return of the plot point at a later date, but applying too much could cause the sudden onset of audience apathy.

Edgium:

A substance that, when combined with neutral properties, has the habit of rapidly darkening them in colour and producing an unpleasant, blood-like smell. Has a wide number of effects when combined with other elements; when combined with Explodium, tends to cause bigger and more frequent explosions, necessitating use of heavy-duty safety equipment. When combined with Stupidium, often results in noxious fumes that cause violent misunderstandings and heated political debates among passersby. When combined with Fanservicon, often produces an effect similar to an aphrodisiac; when strong enough, may lead to spontaneous bouts of passionate intercourse between complete strangers.

Badassium — the vitamin/mineral supplement of choice for Big Damn Heroes everywhere. Can also upgrade 98-pound weaklings or a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits, especially when combined with a Training Montage.

Use only as directed. Side effects may include: snarking, cigar-chomping, BFG/BFS, plot armor, improbable skills (various), etc.

Warning: when combined with Edgium, may will induce Anti-Hero Syndrome.
