So this show starts up tonight on SKY ONE at 9PM. James Nesbitt playing a homicide detective who comes across a bracelet that gives him a stroke of good luck, but then he finds for every turn of good fortune, there must be something truly nasty waiting to balance it all out for other people.

It's a pretty cool premise, I'll say. I'll try checking it out.

It sounds pretty different from most of Stan's previous works.

Then again, he's gone from stuff like Stripperella to Karakuridouji Ultimo, so I guess it's not like he's locked to a specific genre lately.

I watched the first episode, and while not very original, its a pretty fun romp with potential if the next episodes pick up the pace better.

A review I read observed part of the show's problem is that it seems torn between wanting to be a gritty detective drama with a more conflicted protagonist and down-to-earth crimes like say Luther and something more balls-to-the-wall insane like Leverage what with the boat chases, luck altering powers, glamorous triads and ancient conspiracies, and that the show is a lot more interesting when it veers to the second rather than the first.

Which I agree on.
