Seems good to me pending other options.
for OP. It works.
What does that context add to the trope?
Check out my fanfiction!OP
I love you, Krillin!! -struggling to breathe- I love you as well, honey..^^ It adds the context that people are watching that on a screen, so it's definitely a work title card. I think that was already clear though, and it looks better by itself.
I like the OP, it's a good example of an image having more information than just what the text says.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I'm not sure the OP suggestion is very helpful in illustrating the trope. It looks more like regular Canon Discontinuity where they just ignore stuff and then go in a different direction completely—note that they're not doing "Episodes I-III revised" but "forget Episodes I-III, here's Episode VII".
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"What we need is something happening earlier in the series and later it explicitly no longer happened or something different happened.
Something like Gundam Seed's famous retcon SD◊ HD◊ with a character's helmet floating in space signaling he is KIA but in the HD version and Compilation Movie the helmet is not there so that he has been retconned to be ambiguously MIA to fit with his return in the sequel.

Agreeing that the OP fits better as a Canon Discontinuity image and should replace the honestly really bad Superman one we have there right now.
Not a fan of because it doesn't mean much to a person that's not a fan of the show. We're not sure why the missing helmet is significant without the context the image can't provide.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Isn't that part of the problem, though? Presenting an image that would be obvious to everyone, not just those familiar with the work the image came from.
(Annoyed grunt)It changed that's all people need to know. Context doesn't really matter to a retcon, X happened then later they changed it so Y happened instead.
Missing helmet doesn't necessarily mean a Retcon when you have no idea about the implications are supposed to be. The Simpsons suggestion is kind of blunt, but it still works because you know the implications.
Also, it's about Star Wars. It has Pop-Cultural Osmosis on its side.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Panels 6+7 would work, but there's an issue with it having the right-to-left text box orientation.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?4 + 6 + 7 work too. 4 + 7 kinda work as well, so do 4 + 6. Although I like 7-9 as one sequence since they are thin panels, 4 + 7-9?
Tough choices!

I don't think this trope can be accurately explained with an image.
I think it can be, it'll just require a Lampshade or the bluntness given by the OP.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Agreed.
I still like the OP fine.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The OP is Canon Discontinuity not Retcon.
Seconded. OP seems to fit better in Canon Discontinuity, as there's not enough context to prove it'll fit under Retcon.
As for 16, any arrangement that suits the page is fine.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIf we go with 16, would we leave the orientation as-is or edit it to be flipped?

I'm not sure how visible this will be at wiki size, but I think it's worth a shot. From The Simpsons S25E09.
