Seeing how mayor was allowed to just declare Rogercop new ruler of everything and Cat Noir and Ladybug criminals and all cops just followed...yeah, kinda.

Rogercop..ok, that one's name is just weird. I think in at least one dub he was just Robocop. Also, is it just me or do villains often get powers specifically designed so they can't hurt anyone?

OK, Chloe. So your father fired you best friend's father and then he goes after father and both cases you care only about bracelet? New low, much? Seriously though, am I the only one bothered my lack of focus on Sabrina?

And most important question of all: If Adrien keeps carrying cheese with him, how come he doesn't smell?

On positive note, Cat Noir taking down cops was awesome. After Copycat, I sorta hope it will become Running Gag.

Regarding the power, given the Personality Powers aspect that might be a Rousseau Is Right thing or a limitation to Hawkmoth's Mook Maker powers (and thus why needs to get the Miraculous Stones)

On the other hand it is likely that powers like Ret-Gone, Controlling a person's body, Weather Manipulation and sending people to the atmosphere are lethal, but because of the show's rating we haven't seen any of the actually kill anyone

OK, they can't hurt anyone in technical sense, as if you're more likely to see someone turning people to stone then punching them, despite that we know what's worse.

Not to mention the mime who could make invisible rocket launchers. And invisible swords powerful enough to cut down the Eiffel Tower. I'm 80% sure he was out to kill someone.

Hawk Moth's Adrian's Dad's voice on the phone sounds familiar...

Wouldn't be a twist if Hawk Moth turns out to be Marinette's father.

And then give them back when he return to civilian form? This is at the opposite extreme from Clark Kenting, and we have no indication that the Kwami can change appearances beyond instant-costumes, then again Hawk Moth's powers might do the trick if that Animan thing is any indication.

Marinett's father does extreme exercises before he can squeeze into the Hawk Moth suit. However since standing in a dark room for hours if not days on end does little for burning calories he's back to normal when he's seen in public again.

That brings up an interesting point actually. What's stopping her dad from being akumatized? In fact, how do we know that Hawk Moth himself isn't an akumatized individual, who just hasn't been de-evilized?

There has to be a reason for that dark Miraculi. Maybe his dad put it on after a tragedy happened to HIS MOTHER! Dun dun dun!

I like the idea of Hawk Moth being like an evil/failed version of either Adrian or Marinette, with the other one being his dead wife. So he's collecting Miraculuseseses because they can bring his love back to life. And hey, I don't think we've ever seen Adrian's mom...

The other random impression I have is that Adrian's dad is cursed, like Adrian/Felix was in the original concept. The curse leaves him trapped in the butterfly room (and probably semi-suspended, so he never has to eat or take a shit); he's collecting Miraculouses to break the curse and set himself free. Except the curse was put on him because he's evil as a way to keep him from using the butterfly Miraculous to take over the world.

This is canon now. I don't care what anyone says. This is canon.

But we saw him outside in one episode and I think Adrien would notice if he literally never saw his father in person.

On related note though, I wonder if there is chance that Hawk Moth will be defeated and replaced by Bigger Bad with start of second season.

That would mean they'd have to create a villain that can destroy Miraculouses all for the sake of universal conquest.

Ancient Egyptian Ladybug fought against dudes trying to sacrifice virgins to bring their wives back to life, so there's nothing saying they couldn't bring in a new villain that isn't connected to the Miraculouseses.

I've only watched a few episodes, but it reminds me a lot of Code Lyoko.

In terms of art style? Not so much.

More the general formula. Normal people problems -> Person gets possessed by evil computer/man in a room full of butterflies -> transforming to fight -> magic reset button.

Ah well that DOES seem to be similar. But Lyoko has some pretty weak CGI since it aged.

(And the less said about the reboot series, the better.)

Don't forget both choose to drop In Media Res and save the Origin Episode at the end of the season.

Agreed on In Medias Res, but in Lyoko's case the Origins episode wasn't even in the first season (I think it was Season 3-ish)
