He probably was right, that likely wasn't why he was a soldier. Two didn't mind. "It's fine. I'm glad you could hear me out anyway." She smiled at the soldier and then came in for a brief hug. Of course, she'd rather he was out of the armor by now, but perhaps such was Caboose's existence that he never took it off. "Thank you again."
"Shall we head out then?" She had no proper destination in mind, just walking side by side with a friend.

I opted to approach the door I had just come from two minutes ago, trying not to pay too much mind to the probably judging gremlin, and then noticed a flash of green light a short ways behind him.
Yep. Of course.
"Seriously?" This was like the sixth time this week we just happened to cross paths. "If the city had consistent geography I would think you two were stalking me. This is just getting weird."
I heard some engine noises behind me and, recognizing them, looked behind me and sighed, facepalming...
The bubble's disappearance momentarily jarred the alpaca on account of it suddenly for a brief moment pressing against empty space. Confused, it took a few moments to certify that, yes, the bubble was gone, and then began looking around for lunch again.
Alas, it had the misfortune of thinking the glowing green portal might be a source of food and, getting a bit too close, tripped and fell inside it...
...then looked up to see a mass of fawn-colored wool emerge from the green portal, damn near smacking into Morty.
I let out a squeak, immediately starting forward to grab and start snuggling it. Oh, but I couldn't startle it. No, never. It was cute and didn't deserve that. Slowly...slowly..."C'mere. Whoosagoodflufferton, that's right, it's you, c'mere. C'mere..."
For the most part, it just seemed weirded out.

Outside Library to Somewhere Else
Accepting the brief hug was really a matter of simple mental math, the equation being hugs=good. "Yeah, let's go!" Caboose said cheerfully. It wasn't so hard a walk, and the nature of the city meant there was never a moment without anything to look at.
After some time, Caboose turned a corner right into one of the poles around the city. While he merely rebounded off it harmlessly thanks to his durable nature, the brief pause made him register a part of their surroundings. A grocery store! It took him a few seconds to remember why that was a useful thing, but once it sprung to mind the soldier said "Oh hey, you can get ingredients for whatever you want to cook here. I don't think you can cook without ingredients, right?"

The Riddler was indeed awake and up.
Just thinking about the horrific injustices brought upon her made Seiga's blood somewhat tepid! With all the same furor as Hibiki was showing, she sighed and shrugged.
"But hey! After a millennia, I'm used to it. You know wi-"
Oh hey, Rick's portal closed. Guess the picnic was over.
"...Weeeelll, I guess we're free, then. Is there anything you'd like to do, or see here?"

This probably wasn't the best time to fawn over something like this, but fuck it. Yoshika hugged the Alpaca and buried her face in its bountiful plushness.
That One Gal
Now that everything was wrapped up with zero chance for future consequences, Kokichi continued his hitchhiking spree. Hey, it might've only happened once (now twice), but a spree's a spree no matter how much it spree'd.
It might've been very telling that wherever the old guy and his grandson went there seemed to be some sort of interesting vignette happening. As such, Kokichi arrived right behind Rick and Morty, who seemed have caught the suspicions of some armed people. Guards, probably? There was some guy on fire, a girl, and an alpaca too, so Kokichi made the right call in coming here.
So Kokichi piped up,
"Ahh! Help! Th-These guys, they kidnapped me! Keep talking about some kind of experiment...I-I don't wanna die!"

Two, Grocery Store - Or New Experiences!
Their aimless wandering led them to a building Caboose claimed might contain ingredients for making foo-oh! "Ah... I completely forgot in all this confusion..." She admitted sheepishly as she looked curiously at the place. "So is it like a warehouse, or more like a store? I... don't think I have any coin on me..."
Usually, what Two could not procure by herself - via hunting, for example - was provided to her for free, much to her insistence that she should be paying for it like everybody else. The merchants usually didn't want to hear any of it, saying that her heroics were payment enough. Even in other Lands most prices were lowered the moment she asked about something. "Um... do you, Caboose...?"

She didn't know what a grocery store was? Caboose was a bit surprised. Two seemed pretty smart, and the blue soldier still hadn't really understood that she was from a world that was radically different from his own. "It's a store," he said in response. "That's why it's called a grocery store instead of a grocery shop or market." Truth be told, Caboose didn't really know what the difference between the terms was but it must be important because there wouldn't be so many words for an establishment where money traded hands in exchange for goods otherwise.
"No, I don't have any credits..." Caboose admitted reluctantly. "Let's go in anyways! I'm sure we can figure it out."

"What?! Okay, that's a reason!" the militia member of the new group said, as they drew phasers and aimed them towards Rick and Morty. With a quick, sudden dash, Fastanook moved across the room to between the group and the two, raising his hands.
"Whoa whoa guys, stop! We can't just take the kid's word for it!" Fastanook reminded them, then turned to face Kokichi with narrowed eyes. "Why would you follow them through the portal if that was the case?" the gremlin asked.
"Hey! You know a pink skeleton?" the lead pig orc asked Riddler after rapping his knuckles on one of the cell's bars. "Apparently they've got your friend on the phone" he added.

"Woah woah woah -" said Rick as he looked from Kokichi back to the militia member who would probably be putting in a show of force any minute now. "I have a foolproof alibi that - t-this kid just followed me through my portal for shits and giggles. Honestly this is the last place in the city I want to end up as, I was trying to -" Rick belched loudly. "Look it's all very technical stuff that would probably just give you a headache so don't even think about it."
"See?" said Morty, looking rather nervous at the possibility of imminent incarceration without a fair trial. "Rick is- we were just-"
"And anyway," said Rick loftily, pulling out a spare wire from somewhere in his labcoat and what looked like a tiny, faintly glowing soldering gun with the air of someone casually filing their nails, "a) you can't die here, not permanently, and b) I don't need to experiment on people anymore unless they try my patience," he added under his breath, shooting an annoyed glare at the kid.

"Put him on." the Riddler said, making a 'gimmee' motion with his hand to get the phone.

Kokichi looked from Rick to the Guards to the small furry something that was the first to be suspicious about it, tears welling up in his eyes. "B-B-But, I....Y-You..."
Then he broke out into a grin, tear disappearing as soon as they showed up. "You got me! The only crime these two are guilty of is being criminal killjoys." He flashed Rick and Morty a hurt look. "Seriously, you couldn't have played along for a bit? It's not like they were going to shoot you, you're already in jail."
With his little rouse seen through, Kokichi walked around the pair towards Fastanook and the guards. "Hey, just so you all know, this place will blow up soon. And since there's an easy path from here to the only place that won't..."

"Are you blind and deaf? I obviously don't have the phone, and I just asked if you know the bloke who does" the lead pig orc said to Riddler with a frustrated frown.
"... Skeleton" one of the other pig orcs mentioned.
"Skeleton. Whatever" the lead pig orc added.
"Huh? What the heck is wrong with you?" the militia member leading the group asked Kokichi, lowering his phaser after the truth was revealed.
Fastanook scowled at the boy. "Oh sure, first you try to get us to arrest somebody, then you're suddenly so helpful about warning of us a threat?" Fastanook asked in a sarcastic, rhetorical way.
"Get out of here, you twerp" one of the other militia members said in an angry tone.

Slowly but surely, the alpaca seemed to be coming around to my careful beckoning. At least until Yoshika cut to the chase and tackleglomped it. It yelled, obviously surprised and freaked out, squirming and flailing like a big body of nope.
I had to calm it down so it didn't try to run or anything, and by calm it down I apparently meant get briefly distracted by some new guy nearly making the militia piss themselves over a 'joke' and then whining when no one went with it.
"Ah, yes. I know I like getting myself arrested for no reason except that an attention whoring teen thought it'd be funny. Fuck off."
Seriously, even the alpaca seemed to be judging this kid. At least it'd calmed down just to express its disapproval. I petted its head.
Oh, one more thing. "And I've read the fucking challenge plaque, you think I'd be out here if I was afraid of that shit?"

Two, Grocer
So Caboose was without a penny to his name too... His explanation what a "store" was also was a little confusing, but he did use a word "market". That made more sense now! So it basically was a marketplace put together in one neat building rather than sprawled over a wider space.
Perhaps they could do something else to pay... Caboose had the right of it. "Right." And so Two entered the store slowly, glancing around as she took in the new sights. Everything was packed in jars, boxes, some sort of strange metal containers... she spotted some familiar sights, like the veggies and fruit on the stalls, but otherwise it felt like entering a whole new world. There were a couple of people around, casually taking food that they needed, but there was no staff or anyone to pay to for it.
Deciding to scout out the surroundings first, the Intoner idly examined the curious new sights, picking up a can of tuna. The puzzled expression seemed to indicate that she had no idea what she is dealing with here. "Is this how food looks in the future...?" Two mumbled, halfway dismayed and halfway amazed.

Even though his face was obscured, it would probably be obvious to Two that Caboose was far more confident about their surroundings. Not that he had really gone shopping for food anytime in the past few years, but the blue soldier at least knew what a grocery store should look like.
Hearing Two's muttering, Caboose turned to her and looked at what she was holding. "No that is not food," he said as if talking to a child. "That is a can. The food is inside it. Trust me, the can does not taste very good." Without more than a few moments pause, he wandered off to where he saw some cartons of orange juice. There was a lot he'd do for juice and a cookie, so just having some sitting around for free was pretty sweet.

"That's dumb. If it's written when people should die, why should they if they're able to live longer? If someone's fated to die young..." Rather visibly shocked by those words and doing her best to hold in the outburst regarding fate, the girl calmed herself down surprisingly fast even though she was breathing a bit heavier now and imagining the same thing happening to her friends. If that had happened, she would have probably become a drill to pierce the heavens.
Still, it was important that the woman was at least on reprieve from such and didn't have to worry about the celestial bureaucrats being fussy. And look, there was now a diversion to take hold of! "Hmmm what to do... Oh, let's go on a date! I go on such a lot with my friends back home! There has to be some good things in the City as big as it is right?" Being a bit dense, she completely forgot to mention that 'dates' to her focused on social shenanigans rather than romantic ones unless it involved her significant other.

"I know of him by face, if not by reputation. But if he is in contact with Garrett, I'd like to talk to him." Riddler said, narrowing his eyes at the pig guards.

"Oh. O-oh, oh no, I know the can is not the food. I just... uh, never saw food packed into such a tiny little container." Two replied sheepishly, blushing with embarrassment. Before she knew however Caboose was gone and she was on her own in this strange new territory.
It seemed that despite this being a shop, everything was for free. That's what the brief observation of other patrons seemed to be suggesting. Once she got over the fact that everything was so strangely packed, the food selection was mostly familiar. Deciding to ask around was a good choice too; thanks to that, Two was introduced to a plethora of new delicacies.
For now she was content browsing the wares, occassionally picking up something of interest. Luckily she managed to procure a bag to carry all this, else it would be a much more arduous process.

For the Horde!
After a while of walking, Ben noticed out of the corner of his eye a flashy building that he hadn't noticed before. There was a bit of a line of various individuals standing around and chatting while getting ready to play the games. Ben walked up to the door and looked inside, then grinned and glanced back towards Eve and Arcade.
"Hey, this is the place!" Ben exclaimed. "C'mon, let's go play some games!"
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
"Oh, right," Arcade muttered, "that's not going to get confusing or anything." Why did there need to be a place with his name in the city? He wasn't even quite sure what an arcade was supposed to be.
Of course, not long after that thought, Ben pointed a building out. It was... bright. "Reminds me of the casinos in Vegas," he noted, following Ben inside.
I say that aloud too sometimes, just: "man, no life."

Caboose had made a full circle of the store while Two did her shopping. Coming back around a corner and face to face with the bluenette, he noticed her bag laden with ingredients. "Oh you got stuff!" he exclaimed. "That's good."
In his tour of the store Caboose had picked up a bottle of orange juice and a fairly large cookie. While he wasn't consuming either right now, the fact that three quarters of both were missing suggested he had been quite voracious. After staring blankly at Two for a few seconds, Caboose suddenly put his hand out to her with a full bottle of orange juice contained within. "Yeah, they had a lot of these so I got you one too," the soldier said as he held out his hand.

Rex drove Chise and Elias to their destination once again, this time Elias sat between the two teenagers as they went, something that Chise didn't really think much of at the time. However, both of them noticed that Rex was having a little too much fun talking on the cellphone while driving and both braced themselves for the inevitable crash that happened as expected. The impact and the ensuing sharp movements made Chise feel a little dazed, but she was at least unharmed.
"Do you not know that you shouldn't use your cellphone while driving?" Elias asked him, annoyed.
"Rex, please focus on getting us to the prison in one piece..." Chise sighed, sounding just a little nervous.
"You already know the protocol. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times"
Rex told both Elias and Chise after building his motorbike, and sped off after they took a seat. After a few minutes of driving around and sometimes running into the same buildings—was that an arcade?—Rex received a message from Makoto. She needed to chill out.
Oh and he had received a message from Yuna too, evidently Rex was on fire today. Turns out her plan was the same as Chise's but she had much less information to go on so she resorted to asking Rex for Silanea's location.
Right as he sent that, Rex was getting close to the prison and slowed down to finish his message—everyone he knew had to see the picture of the alpaca. Unfortunately, he didn't notice a pole was in his way—or maybe he had accidentally taken a turn without noticing, he was too busy finding the image and sending it to Yuna to notice—and crashed into it. Luckily he wasn't going so fast as to lose control of the vehicle but it was still something that surprised him. Still, he tried to keep his composure in front of Elias and Chise. Two rides and two crashes didn't inspire much confidence.
"Heheh, my bad. Two girls were texting me"
