Agreed on both of those being good replacements for their pages.
I like 3.1, but I'm not sold on the Smurfs being an example. They always seemed more like some sort of fairy creature than Lilliputians to me.

Yeah, 8 is good. The size comparison is evident from the spoon & sugar cube. The other elements from that poster doesn't significantly add anything and only makes it larger than necessary.
