Watched the trailer for Monster Strike. Cool concept and character designs aside, why they make it in 7 minute format? Is that supposed to mimic how long a single round session lasts?
@46: Sho Aikawa can be a pretty good writer without Mizushima keeping him on leash. He was the writer for the tokus GoGo Sentai Boukenger, Kamen Rider Blade and Kamen Rider Decade, all of which very well-regarded. Okay, he also wrote the infinitely less well-regarded Kamen Rider Wizard, but I guess you can't hit a home run every time.
Realistically the best that can be expected from Rakudai Kishi No Eiyuutan is that it turn out something like Strike The Blood, in that it handles the basic premise competently without wallowing in the more frustrating genre conventions. I recall enjoying the first volume or so, but never really read past that.
The preview for Heavy Object seems a bit misleading if it's going to be a direct adaption. Too much focus on the mecha and the girl, not enough on the intrepid duo.
Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan is a weird case, as far as I have seen. They actually give a half decent explanation for why the protagonist have such a bad rep¹.
It also have the character hooking up with the first girl and seriously trying to work out a relationship. How rare is that?
It is gonna bring out a lot of rage to people who get invested in this series, thou. Just saying.
¹He do in fact lack talent but is extremely dedicated and diligent to the point of absurdity. He, however, did not meet the standards of his family, which pulled some strings to keep him from graduating from magic school. By the time he got half good, he had already failed his first year and got a unsalvageable reputation.

So, Lupin III has started (in Italy), and the first episode of One Punch Man had a pre-airing. I'm not really feeling either of them, but they seem competently made?
It's not about not meeting standards. All his dad cares about is talent, not hard work. As long as the protag's aptitude (i.e. talent) is ranked anywhere near F, he will not be accepted by his dad. And by extension the rest of the family (little sister excluded) since everyone practically worships his dad. It doesn't matter how strong he is in an actual battle.

Give the God Eater game thread some love!Looking at this line up... I'm not particularly enthused about much really.
Definitely watching:
- Garo Guren No Tsuki
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
- Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-
Might check out:
- Comet Lucifer
- Concrete Revolutio Choujin Gensou
- Lance N Masques
- One Punch Man
- Sakurako San No Ashimoto Ni Wa Shitai Ga Umatteiru
- Utawarerumono Itsuwari No Kamen
But those are all maybes depending on scheduling and availability.
Am not realy feeling most of the new shows. Thought maybe I was just numbed. Stumbled accidentally on Jojo moments on Youtube. Like, say, the end of Steely Dan and both D'Arbys.
No, it's not me that's numb, it's these shows that are boring.
Well, OPM got exciting, in a disturbing, Blood Knight, not-noble-at-all kind of way, but that's part of the story's charm. But half-assed saitama is missing something here. Comedic timing?
I dunno, but I feel so bummed...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. You're not feeling shows that aren't out yet?
This upcoming season doesn't have me as excited as it could, which is funny cause summer didn't either and it had some incredible shiz.
Only ones I am truly interested in:
- Noragami: FUCKYESWANTOMG
- One Punch Man: heard good things about it
- Heavy Object: I like Kazuma "can't write exposition and make it sound natural/not bullshit" Kamachi, and will laugh at his tried and true writing. Also giant robots. I recommend the short run it had as a manga for those who are kind of curious. I will warn you about any of the novel translations, what I have read is horribly done, especially because this is Kamachi we're talking about.
The rest I might watch as they come, except for most of the school harem with sole male protagonist crap.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareSo The Cart Driver's preview is out. It's not particularly more informative than the preview I did, but is funnier and makes even less effort to hide the bias
A lot of the stuff he says about the sequels is patently wrong, so you you might want to skip that section, though
Now with The Cart Driver's preview completely excised kids' series, now my information about them become scarcer. That said, I will watch the following:
- Monster Strike: Interesting concept and very cool character designs. If this is good I'll attempt to get this game.
- Is The Order A Rabbit??: The first season was excellent.
- Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans: Gundam, duh.
Depending on how it was received, I might watch Dream Beats as well.
I'm not entirely sure what i'll watch from the coming season. None of it is really my cup of tea. I'll look into Prequel-monogatari because i feel that i ought to at least try and finish the monogatari series, but other than that there's not a great deal going on.
oh man, people started the Fall 2015 thread and didn't tell me? I feel betrayed.
And now RC's preview is out. Probably the best preview for actually figuring out what the shows are about
Definitely watching:
- Heavy Object (I enjoy the Raildex anime and since the source material is from the same author I trust it to be good.)
- Owarimonogatari (I still need to watch the most recent Monogatari anime but I plan on watching all of them.)
- Gundam Iorn Blooded Orphans (I’ve made it a point to try and watch every series since 00 provided they have official subs and can hold my interest.)
Tentatively watching:
- One Punch Man (I've heard good things about the manga.)
Definite:
- Shomin Sample
- One-Punch Man
- Is the Order a Rabbit??
- Sister New Devil 2
- Owarimonogatari (upon catching up)
Maybe:
- Valkyrie Drive
- Failure Knight
- Asterisk
Shomin Sample is gonna be hilarious. The comedy mostly comes from the protagonist tricking the naive female lead into absurd acts. That said, I also liked If Her Flag Breaks until its anime came and was terrible, so let's see.
Pretty much every sentence that was supposed to set or explain the setting of Shomin Sample screamed either "stupid" or "bullshit" to me, and it DEFINITELY won't beat last season's Shimoneta as ecchi comedy.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareThat's the thing, though. What ecchi?
I've been reading the manga. It starts off a with two characters being somewhat ecchi for their introductory chapters... and then all traces promptly disappear as if the ecchi parts were never there.
I will admit the setting is a hard sell, though.
In explaining it to my friends, I've found nothing more effective than linking them page 24 of chapter 23 of the manga and telling them "read until end of chapter". I'd do that here, but I'm pretty sure I can't link scanlations.

Eh, HnA is kind of popular in Japan from what I get. Not a huge hit, but enough to have 20+ LNs and a 70 chapters long (so far) manga adaptation. The thing is that most people in the West only know the anime and English scanlations, both of which cover only the very early parts of the series (and not nearly the best ones).
Other than that… huh, not much that I care about in all this. =[
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.
