Poor Image: Repulsive Ringmaster

Young trope, the picture is of quite low quality, plus it doesn't illustrate much, even the costume isn't terribly indicative of a ringmaster, repulsive or not.

To start things out, I did found a candidate for replacement: Ivor Howley◊ from Deadlands.

Oy vey, that's a bad pic.

Would the four armed ringmaster from Totally Spies! be repulsive enough?

As the person who launched this trope, let me tell you what I think:

1. I thought the picture was good at first, but after reading your comments, I now understand why it needs to be changed.
2. I don't think Ivor Hawley is a good replacement. Though he does look somewhat evil, he doesn't really look like a ringmaster to me.
3. That four-armed ringmaster could be a good replacement. He looks pretty sinister, and it's easy to tell that he's a ringmaster.
4. I want to make a few other suggestions for a replacement. How about:

• Marvel's Ringmaster?◊
• Sonic Boom's T.W. Barker?◊
• The Ringmaster Concept Art by coulrophiliacs on DeviantArt?

What about The Ringmaster from Dumbo? [1]◊[2]◊

I was browsing through the internet and I quite liked these◊ images◊.

Marvel's ringmaster is a good character to illustrate, though.

Honestly, these two are the first suggestions that actually make me think "evil, demented ringmaster".

^^^ I'm not so sure about the ringmaster from Dumbo, because he's a rather downplayed example of this trope. On the other hand, that first picture was really good, and if we can't find anything else, I would be happy to use that picture for the page.

^^ Those pictures are good too, but they're a bit too repulsive for my tastes. Still, they're also good examples of this trope.

I still think Marvel's Ringmaster would be a good page image, though now I'm not so sure about the other 2 I suggested.

Keep going, everyone! Maybe soon we'll be able to find a picture that we can agree on!

Speaking of, if you have an example that is not currently on the Main page, could you please add it there? I'd do it myself, but since I don't know anything about these characters, it would be a Zero Context Example.

I agree. I don't know how this Image Pickin' thing works, if we have to get a certain number of people to approve the image, but if we don't, then I wouldn't mind if you changed the page's image right now. I'd also like to create an Image Links page, because there were some other really good suggestions here.

If there's a consensus (usually at least seven people agreeing and no disagreements), it can be put up without further discussion. If there are several supported suggestions and none of them is obviously more preferred than the rest, a crowner is preferred.

I think making an Image Links page is a free action, although I'm not entirely sure. It's often done after a crowner to collect all "good but didn't win" suggestions.

Personally, I'm not which I prefer, but I wouldn't object to 12.

We've got more than enough suggestions for a crowner (and we'll have a great Image Links page when the thread wraps up) but I'll give it another day or two to see if any options get consensus.

I hate to sound rude, but why is this even a question? Why don't we just use Vox's caption in 12?
