Universal getting a Nintendo license suggest they're paying Nintendo the millions, not the other way around. Otherwise it would read "Nintendo gets Universal license."
Here's what I hope to see
-A rollercoaster ride based off of the Mine cart levels from the Donkey Kong Country games - Go karting with Mario inspired karts - A rollercoaster based off of Rainbow Road(all of them) - A haunted house attraction of Luigi's Mansion. - A splatoon paintball themed area.
@Robo Zombie: Game Xplain suggested that they may have gotten the Nintendo license in order to make up for the fact that their Marvel license may be dying. Disney Theme Parks won't take too kindly to Universal's Marvel rides anymore.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. Some should make a video featuring Super Mario booting Spider-man.
I could see Zelda as a guided dungeon walk-through (like Poseidon's Fury). Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, and/or The Mysterious Murasame Castle might make good swordfight-based stage shows.
Wii Fit will be used in the gyms at the resort hotels. Animal Crossing and Warioware would be the the themes of two of the stores.
It's been 3000 years…How about a Super Mario water ride? Going through pipes and stuff.
Moved handles because mehDo we even know how big this is gonna be? Cause I'm not making any guesses until we have more information.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Likely they're start small, then slowly replace their Marvel stuff until their Nintendo license runs out and they have slowly replace that.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. After seeing the Splatoon Mess Fest stuff, they had better make that a thing, because that shit looks hilarious.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIf these forum posts at Orlando United are to be believed, a Mario Kart ride is already on the Universal Creative project list. It's supposed to be an E-ticket attraction to compete with Disney's Test Track and Radiator Springs Racers.
It is also supposed to have a unique entryway similar to Diagon Alley. The land's crux would be obscured from the rest of the park and guests would have to go down warp pipes to see the rest.
Again, these are rumors, but interesting ones at best.
"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherCalling it right now, this is going to replace Toon Lagoon at IOA.
Literally noone gives a flying fuck about Dudley Doo Right and shit like that, and Universals gonna wait out the Marvel contract till the bitter end. If they want a fully themed "world" IOA is the best place for something like that so it's a pretty good fit.
Good point there. The problem is the space is so small that there would only be a few rides and attractions to build. They might as well go to Universal Studios Florida, raze the KidZone (thankfully meaning no more Barney) and expand to that lower right area of the park that hasn't been used yet. That would give Universal plenty of space to build as many Nintendo attractions as they want.

...anything new?
As for speculations, I can imagine using this Nintendo Land for stuff like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart tournaments and tourneys. I also can't help but imagine that if put in a shop for Pokémon merchandise (Am I in the right when I say they have to call it "Pokémon Center"?), they'd play the Pokémon Center song from Smash Bros. Brawl.

Well, to be fair, Popeye was going to have a comeback via a movie by Genndy Tartakovsky and Sony Pictures Animation...but there's really no telling how that's coming along.
(I still want to believe that they're letting GT do his original idea before doing Popeye. Don't judge me. )

They are more likely to take out the arab place with the voyage of sinbad and stuff than Toon Lagoon, IMO
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesEh, me thinks the Sinbad stuff will be used as more expansion room for Hogsmeade since it's right next to it.
Tartakovsky's Popeye is dead AFAIK, he straight up said SPA canceled it, which is why they released that "test trailer" in the first place.
8 month Necroing in motion because...
$351 million Nintendo area is coming to Universal Studios...in Japan.
(cue cries of "Goddammit!")
It's said it'll be built in time for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
(Cue cries of "Double goddammit!")

Hey, if it's popular in Japan, I'm sure it'll get imported eventually. On that note, I hope it's not just a couple of roller coasters, and more like a Nintendo roller coaster. Given many of Universal's best rides are simulators, even simulators that aren't just a tv screen and a moving chairs, I hope Nintendo puts a good spin on those.
I'll be happy if it comes stateside at all.
I mean, it's bad enough Universal Japan gets to have some kickass stuff like "Resident Evil the Real", "Attack on Titan the Real", and "Evangelion the Real" and not have it show up over in the US.

The Nintendo stuff is obviously coming to America, Nintendo is still massively influential and popular despite the fact that they really haven't been all that innovative since the PS 1 era (aside from Pokemon I guess.)
I mean, stuff like SNK and Evangelion are cult hits in America, with SNK just barely bordering on mainstream popularity (and to get E-ticket theme park shit you have to be GIGANTIC mind you), but Nintendo is still gargantuan on sheer legacy and consistent performance alone (I mean this in the sense that they haven't made a paradigm sifting game that completely changed the landscape since the original Pokemon, but they've made plenty of solid and interesting titles and still have a large fanbase.)

Bumping this because Nintendo and Universal announced something new.
i cant watch this with sound so all i get from this is "Mario Is Out For Miyamoto's Blood"
And then there was silence
I'm fairly certain the Nintendo higher ups(or at the very least Miyamoto and Iwata) are going to have some input on the attractions, like J. K. Rowling had with the Harry Potter island.
