Oh yeah, could you put the known NPC's on the list of magical girls? That would make it much easier to keep track of who's who. Also for posterity.

So, since I'm trying to quietly encourage player-to-player interaction but it doesn't seem to be working, I'll be blatant about it:

Does anyone feel like asking the girl on the verge of passing out if she's okay?

I'll try to work out an update later, but I really don't know how long I'll have internet so... Oh, and expect me to be missing for six days.

Plenty of time for players to talk to each other.

Bit of a confession. I don't often play loonies, no matter how fun they are, so Tina's an exception to the rule.

It's liberating, really. And the best part is, it's suitable for more serious characters as well, because you never know when she might be deliberately exaggerating things...

Oh, wow. Conspiratorial shadow government, what a surprise. I'll just have to roll with it and ignore my polisci/intelligence/national-security-community antennae twitching.

Either that, or the Operational Phenomenology Agency would like to have a word.

On the other hand, much appreciation that the Bagpipes of Erich Zahn apparently do fit into the verse's magic system...

Less "Conspiratorial shadow government" and more "Literally the American government having hidden Magi divisions that get to do whatever they have to". Besides, technically the average joe has no power anyways and has to convince the government to do something or express enough hate to get an idea shot down.

Though besides that, not all of the Sword of Queen governments are like that. In general though they do want to limit how much the public knows so that other nations don't learn about their projects.

In addition to that, the person over the comms is more of the exception than the rule for the American Magi stuff. Most of them are unafraid the magical girl's presence would actually cause international problems, and mainly the only reason they would kidnap a Magus is if she proves herself an actual antagonist.

Yay for American government agencies going power-mad and thinking they're above the law!

It's a good thing that doesn't happen in real life. :V

Grimoire... I do like that word. Now I totally want to give Burattino the ability to vomit up records of past Magi and Kachemetc. Oh, and sorry about how long I've taken to update lately. I really do love the concept and story I have for this, so I have no intention to give up on it.

Burrito brings to mind the new Naruto manga. Several of the main character's names can be pronounced as food. E.g. burrito (Boruto), salad (Sarada), choco (Chouchou).

I'm surprised but not surprised.

No, I got the nickname partly from Chuck Sonnenberg of SF Debris fame (who nicknamed Kyubey "Bunnycat"), and partly from the Wargame Airland Battle community, whose nickname for the Buratino flamethrower vehicle is the "Burrito", after which point the nickname became inevitable.

Yeah, so my charrie's having a bit of a personality crisis right now. I find that the personality I gave her doesn't lend itself too well in an RP of only a few people. I'm going to slowly change her. At least she has an in-universe reason for some self-questioning which I'm going to ride all the way so it won't seem too jarring.

And that's why good authors will tell you that characters have a life of their own. :)

Dear god, how many times have my characters gone off and developed in ways of their own and left me scrambling to catch up?

Honestly, if you ask me, "characters having a life of their own" isn't a fact you can argue against. Course, I probably take that more literally than most. Infinite universes and whatnot.
