I'm not gonna that right away, but I think I'd prefer something from a fictional work if a good example can be found.
A little bit of "World = America", but what about the poster for the film "Dragon Day"; featuring a statue of Chairman Mao in the place of the Statue of Liberty, with the New York skyline in the background?[1]◊
Cropped down to size, it looks something like these:[2]◊[3]◊

The caption would need to say that's the New York skyline or that was the Statue of Liberty, that is unclear.
Not sure that would make it a good page image, though.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. How many tropers are not going to recognize that that's supposed to the Statue of Liberty? Certainly less than 0.1%

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.80% of all statistics are made up on the spot, and 99.9999% of them are ridiculously stupid.
I don't like the statue at all.
I thought we had one here similar to Japan Takes Over the World, or was that another page?
Check out my fanfiction!Either of those Statue of Mao pics would work for me. I think a parody of the "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" poem on the statue would work great as a caption.
I wouldn't have known that was supposed to be New York, but I don't think it matters. A giant statue of Mao looming over a skyline illustrates "China Takes Over the World" pretty well IMO. Caption can add context.
Perhaps:
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
And together, we shall overthrow the bourgeoisie and the capitalists"
Or even just:
"Give me your tired, your poor..."

Give me your lazy, your entitled, your greedy capitalists striving for a hopeless dream.

The remade flag works.
This has been languishing for ages. Thus far, I say that the best candidates are the Mao Statue of Liberty and the image of the flag of China superimposed over a map of the world. The downside of the latter, though albeit a very minor one over the former, is that it's not based on a piece of fiction.
That has never been a standard. Like, ever.
Plus I'd say the upside is that it matches the Sister Trope Japan Takes Over the World's page image while the statue doesn't.

It's a personal preference thing.
If possible, I'd prefer the illustration be an example of the trope rather than a picture made-to-order by someone for the sole purpose of putting it up on the page.
^^ It has never been mandatory, but it's been a consideration virtually forever.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I prefer the flag, because I can't tell the Statue is Mao Zedong.
The statue is more evocative in my opinion.
Flag works for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like the statue. Even if you don't know it's New York, the text on top of the poster says it's in America.
Even so, it's hard to tell that the statue of the guy is Chinese, and not other East Asian ethnicity. I only knew it's supposed to represent Chinese takeover, because we're in discussing a page called China Takes Over the World.
Besides, America =/= The World, so the flag communicates a stronger influence.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Noticed this page didn't have an image, wanted to offer up a suggestion. It's not the most funny or flashy but it's a real book and it's not restricted for use and it clearly illustrates the point:
