Duplicate Image: Franchise.Planet Of The Apes

This franchise was split into its constitutent works some time again. The current page image (a poster of the '68 film) of the franchise was then duplicated to the work page of the original movie: Planet of the Apes (1968).

I suppose there are bunch of options for the franchise page. We could use the alternate poster of the original which shows the Statue of Liberty, though it spoils the Earth All Along It Was His Sled ending. (I'm not clear on the spoiler criteria for a film that old.) Just a random shot of the ape-men and humans interacting together could work barring better options, but I'd prefer something that shows the satirical aspects better, like this poster◊, this shot of a restrained Taylor◊ or something similar. I like this shot of human hunt◊ as well, though it's a pity that it's fanwork.

Then he have a duplicate image issue with Earth All Along.

I rather like 1.1 for the film page. This◊ might be cool for the franchise page.

Oh, I like that for the franchise page. Seems to be a reworked version of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes poster. I had also found a screenshot◊ that pretty much sums up the premise in a nutshell, but your suggestion definitely has my preference if there are no duplication concerns.

That's not a bad option.

Strongly prefer 6 to 5. The "evolution of man" image is wrong for a lot of reasons, for one thing because it implies a lot of things that aren't true about evolution, like that its pinnacle is a white male, or that it's linear. It is too bad that is the image most people associate with the word; biologists often hate that image. I know that is not exactly it, I just really have a grudge against that image and don't want to proliferate it, even mere variations. :P

...okay, that didn't even remotely cross my mind when I saw that; I was far too drawn to the ape with the leash.

Don't expect anyone to, it is a crazy specialist wonk :)
