Red Keeper, Morkardar

The Keeper turned his attention to the ongoing skirmish in the place called Sanctuary, watching and considering. From the looks of things it was possible his forces could win the day, especially if he was to intervene with some magical assistance... but perhaps it was wiser to fall back for now. He still didn't know much about this world, and attacking with greater knowledge would give him more of an advantage. The spider-like creatures that he recruited could possibly give him information. And maybe he could retrieve another source of knowledge...

Horned Reaper, Sanctuary

The Reaper simply roared in defiance at the enemy forces, and was on the verge of charging their lines once again when the Keeper's voice rang out in the minds of all his minions present.

I HAVE MADE A DECISION! Fall back for now, we will recommence our attack when we have acquired more information about this place. You, distract the human fools! And you two, capture that metal beast and bring it back for questioning!

On his orders, a Bile Demon fired a missile at the guards which burst into a cloud of noxious green gas. Two goblins seized Claptrap, and raced back to the tunnel carrying him between them. The other creatures followed suit, except for the Reaper. The red mist which had descended over his brain had yet to clear, and he was insensible to instruction. He tried to move forward, only to find the invisible hand of his master restraining him.

I said FALL BACK! THAT IS AN ORDER!

The Reaper simply snarled and struggled with the magic holding him back.

Oh for the love of - that crazy fool, someone get him out of there!

Several burly orcs and knights plowed into the big demon, literally dragging their commander from the battlefield kicking, cursing and bellowing.

Melior/Starling City

Bastian waved goodbye as Red Arrow drove back on his strange contraption. Without further ado, the party of four turned back towards Melior, hoping to reach the gates before the night turned too dark. But when the party started approaching Melior, they were only three...

Starling City

As agreed, Volke had left Bastian on the way back and was now quietly making his way towards Starling city. The thief and assassin was making the best use of darkness to try to not be spotted on his way into the city. He had a mission.

Gunsmoke

Marcia sat uncomfortably in the seat next to Nicholas, slightly unnerved by the speed. She really hoped he was a good driver. In the back seat, her girls were staring wide-eyed as the landscape whizzed past. Even to Pegasus Riders, moving this fast this close to the ground was a new experience.

Marcia was relieved when Nicholas asked her a question, which kept her attention away from the experience.

"What it's like? Uh...well, Melior is a big castle town, with the Royal Palace in the middle. It's got a high wall and towers and inside the wall, there's a big city with houses and a market and magicians."

Remembering her audience, she added "And outside the walls, it's all green, with forests and grassy plains."

Wolfwood slowed down as the gargantuan city doors came into view, both to prolong their conversation and to soothe his passenger’s nerves.

“That’s not really what I meant, I’m afraid.” Wolfwood said. His eyebrow had quirked at the mention of greenery, but now wasn’t the time to get carried away by that kind of thing, no matter how tantalizing it sounded. “You keep talking about my world like it’s a circus attraction. It might get dicey when you start talking to someone who matters, if neither one of you can relate to what the other is saying.” He rode further for a moment, rubbing his thumb along the underside of the wheel as the car’s tires left a trail of luminescent dust in their wake. “Let me put it this way. If you weren’t here right now, on this patchwork planet, what would you be doing? And how would you do it?”

Gunsmoke

Marcia blushed. Well, it was to expected. She was no diplomat, after all.

"S-Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like that. It's just that it's been one surprise after another since coming here."

She calmed down (helped partly by the car's slowing down) and tried to answer his question better.

"Right. So, I'm a Captain in the Royal Knights, and the dumbfounded girls behind me are my subordinates. Crimea, which Melior is the capital of back home, has been in two harsh wars pretty recently, because of politics and plots and stuf. Things have calmed down now, but the war has made a mark on us all."

"Crimea has been trying to be a peaceful country for years, but we've been surrounded by big military powers. Queen Elincia commands respect for all of our neighbours now, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Ike, the mercenary. Well, I guess that's going a bit off what I was supposed to tell you. But what I'm getting is that Crimea has had to build up its military despite Her Majesty's wishes, to keep the population safe. Which is where my girls and I come in."

"Me and my girls and the other knights been hard at work trying to preserve the peace, which ain't that easy with all the laguz-beorc tension around. The laguz are shapeshifters that can turn into animals, while beorc are like you and me. Queen Elincia does a jolly good job of trying make everyone get along, which is working out decently."

"And now we're here. Everyone's nervous about there being a new war, even veterans like me. We've had enough killing and death for a lifetime already. Which is why Her Majesty is asking all her new neighbours for peace. But that doesn't mean she's a pushover, because she really cares about her people. And the people love her queen, so they're gonna defend their country if need be."

Marcia stopped to catch her breath, and realized she'd been going on for a while now. Creepers, but this business had her more nervous than she'd liked.

Knuckles and Rouge - Sanctuary, Tannis's Lab - Born on an Island in the Heavens

Knuckles hesitated to tell Axton the reason why he would need the helicopter, pondering whether he could afford to give away such information before the rest of Battleworld could know about it. Ultimately, he decided to drop a hint. If Axton picked up on what it meant, then hopefully nobody was listening in.

"Axton, if you're still there, let's just say that if all goes according to plan, an aerial attack on Angel Island will be the only kind of attack that'll matter."

He hoisted the Master Emerald in his arms and called out to Rouge. "You find those clothes yet? I doubt our host wants us here for much longer."

Rouge found a stairwell leading up, hoping that Axton was right about there being something up here she could use.

Amy Rose - Angel Island, Angel Island Zone - Complications

Amy seemed distraught by the animals' plight, but also disappointed that her current position would not allow her to help (for the time being).

"Well, I'd really like to help, but Sonic asked me to keep an eye on the shrine while he, Tails, and Knuckles were gone. I'm actually not supposed to be away from it at all, but it was starting to get cold over there, and I came out here to get some firewood."

Amy perked back up, hoping to convince Dizzy that she shouldn't count the pink hedgehog out yet.

"But if you want, you can come with me to the shrine until they get back, and then I can come to that place to help the animals with you. With how late it's getting, they should be back any minute now."

Santa Destroy/Sanctuary

Axton put his hand up to his ear as he responded, holding up a finger to the two to hang on a sec. It was an unnecessary motion, as the comm was a hands free device, but he did it anyway so the other two he was currently talking to would be able to guess that he was on a phone of some sort.

"Er, alright man, if you say so. I'll have a few men come by your place tomorrow, they'll identify themselves as Crimson Raiders. I'd tell you that you can crash at my place, but I think Tannis would poison my next meal if I did. Anyway, sorta busy at the moment, gotta go. Later." He hung up

Sancuary-Caustic Caverns

The forces caught in the blast coughed and ran out of the way as they got hit. Once they were clear, they lifted their weapons up to fire again, only to find the enemy commander literally being dragged away by his forces.

"They're retreating!" A cheer went up from the defending forces.

"Sir, what's that they're dragging away?" One of the grunts asked, pointing farther away where Claptrap was being grabbed.

"Is that Claptrap? How'd he get down here?" There was a moment of silence as the team considered what this meant.

"No more Claptrap!" Another cheer went up from the group.

Caustic Caverns-Claptrap

The annoying robot was surprised when the strange things that had been attacking the city grabbed him and started dragging him away.

"Woh! Hey, where are we going? Is this a kidnapping? Well, ok, I'm not a kid, so I guess not. Robotnapping, maybe? Ya, that's probably it. Unless we're just going on a trip and you're going to bring me back when you're done. That would be fun. Oh, but I haven't introduced myself, have I? I am a CL 4 P-TP robot, but you can call me Claptrap."

Claptrap would, if not interrupted, continue to babble on like this for the entirety of the trip.

Gunsmoke Threshold

As he parsed her statement for meaning, he achieved a kind of tranquil clarity. In that moment, he was given the gift of an alternative.

Wolfwood nodded in understanding, though in truth he could only really comprehend a small part of what she said. It was the only part that mattered. “This is going to unravel any diplomatic clout my representative would’ve had, but these people don’t understand war like anything you’re talking about. No one on Gunsmoke has ever been invaded.” He let out a sharp laugh. “When I say it like that, it almost sounds like a good thing. But we’re not at war with each other because we’re at war with the planet. Starvation. Thirst. Sandstorms. We breathe in the gun smoke because the bullet has already been fired, and we’re living on it.”

He slowed way down, foot barely touching the gas pedal. Gradually, they came to a stop. “I want to be clear, it’s not just an unspoken rule. Until one day ago, war was a practical impossibility for these people. All of that has changed now, but the mindset won’t just go away. For any length of time that matters, left to their own devices, these people will never pose a threat to Melior.” Wolfwood turned off the car’s engine and turned to her to show he was serious. “They’re a danger to themselves, sure, because they don’t think they’ll need anyone else. The important thing is that, for a little while, they’ll be right. I can’t tell you why. It’s too hard to explain. The important thing is that it’s not your problem.”

Wolfwood leaned back into the seat, staring straight ahead at the city. “You’re here entirely on their behalf. These people who will hate you for what you have to say about our new world, fear you for what you represent, and vastly outgun you in every sense. So I’m giving you one last chance to back out.” He looked off to the tower in the west, reaching desperately to touch the stars. “We have other neighbors. And like I said, we’re good at this. If you want to turn around now, and save your people from everything that lurks behind those walls, no one will blame you. Not me, and not your princess.” Every single one of his instincts screamed at him, telling him off for doing the stupidest and most unpragmatic thing imaginable. But one day ago, the pragmatic option was to shoot a gun-wielding ten-year-old without hesitation. Now, the pragmatic option was to throw this society into the depths of Original Sin, knowledge they would be better off without. The choice wasn’t a choice at all.

“It’s up to you.”

Zaofu - Prowl

Prowl carefully surveyed the checkpoint, trying to figure out a way in. Perhaps he could scan one of the large vehicles on patrol and attempt to get inside in disguise. But the sheer expenditure of energy reformatting his body and shifting his mass to match the mechs would leave his frame weak and his senses dulled. The fact that the mechs were rather unsightly didn't help.

From his position, he noticed more humans heading to the checkpoint. They didn't appear to be in uniform. If he had to hazard a guess, they weren't from these lands. He decided to bide his time for now, and await the reaction the two groups of humans would have when they began to mingle.

Iacon - Central City Envoy

"Uh... right," said Bulkhead. "We'll get right on that won't we, Ratchet?"

Ratchet nodded, squinting as he watched the tiny human return to his vehicle, then turned to speak softly into his built-in radio.

"Ratchet to Optimus. We've just made contact with more of our organic neighbours. A Colonel Roy Mustang, of Central City. Said something about being a representative of a King Bradley. He wants an Autobot envoy to his territory to establish an alliance."

Optimus took a moment to reply.

"Alright. I'm forwarding this all to Ultra Magnus. Until he figures out a response, we need to focus on getting our ship operational. It's the only Autobot starship we have, and we need it ready to transport us if we really are to attempt to travel to all our neighbours in good time. I'm coming up on your position. We need that ship ready before sunrise, the Commander's orders. Bumblebee and I will meet you at the Omega Hangar. Optimus out."

Ratchet looked to Bulkhead.

"Well, don't just stand there. We've got work to do."

The two bots transformed into their respective vehicle modes and made their way throught the newly cleared streets for the Omega Hangar. Around them, Autobots continued to work through the night, restoring buildings, eliminating hazards and making the outer regions liveable again.

Iacon - Wheeljack and the Fleaman

Wheeljack set the tiny little jar down in Perceptor's laboratory. Botanica and Perceptor both looked down at the creature, then up at the positively beaming Wheeljack.

"Is this organic sentient?" asked Perceptor. "We should begin immediate neurosurgery to determine its reactions."

"Or we could simply talk to this fascinating little being," said Botanica, trying to shield her distain at the thought of open brain surgery as a first point of contact. "I for one want to hear what it has to say."

She picked up the jar in her slender, almost plantlike arms, and brought it up to her face.

"I am Botanica. Can you understand me?"

Trevor & Alucard, Zaofu

Alucard looked at Trevor with a glare that was as if he thought Grant was correct in his assumption, and both had a worried look at the mechs that the Zaofu forces were piloting. However, it was night and they needed to find a place to stay.

"We came from the north beyond the land of metal giants, and we seek a place to stay for an extended period of time," Trevor told the guard at the checkpoint, though Prowl would note the description of 'metal giant' which he could guess referred to the Autobots and not the mechs that Zaofu had. Alucard simply kept his arms crossed and looked to be in thought.

Flea Man, Iacon

The Flea Man stopped jumping inside the bottle it was contained inside, and looked at Botanica in the face when she picked the bottle up.

"...Yes, Botanica," The Flea Man spoke to her, deciding that she was probably the best choice to talk to. "I am the representative of Castlevania to the northwest sent here by Lord Dracula to seek audience with Optimus Prime."

Flea Man, New York City

The Flea Man decided to follow the police car that had captured the little girl, having thought the situation was odd... However, almost as soon as he did, a man jumped in the way and intimidated the police officer into letting her go and running off... And this man calling himself Shredder knows about envoys being sent. The Flea Man let the police officer run off and then jumped down from the buildings it had been using to move around.

"...Shredder," The Flea Man began to say, glancing at the little girl, introducing herself as being the envoy of Outpost 341. "I am the envoy of Castlevania to the south sent here by Lord Dracula."

Santa Destroy - Death Match Bar

"The mayor skipped town. Right now no one is in charge, but she is saying that crazy homicidal psycho bitch is planing to take control. Over my dead body."

Bad girl just chuckled at Travis.

"That's kind of the general idea idiot. Why do you think this room is filled with UAA killers? Money? Authority? That counts for shit now that we are completely separated from the rest of the country. It's the wild west baby. All that matters is what you can do and what you are willing to do, and we have both the means and desire to kill any stupid mother fucker who ties to get in our way. You finally finished? Certainly took you long enough."

Bad Girl directed the last part to Jeane who had since stood up and began walking toward the group.

"Six is on board, she will be making the calls tonight. Assuming it all goes through, we should have the LB soldiers in addition to the men Death Metal was contributing."

She then turned her gaze to Travis.

"Hey Travis. Lets keep this brief. Contribute or leave. If you oppose us you die. It's as simple as that. Do you really want to throw your life away all for the memory of that old fart and his whore? Is that really all your life is worth?"

Finally she turned her gaze on Axton.

"And you. Our mutual friend says you're an alien from the future. Maybe, couldn't care less to be honest. But hearing you are from the west, from that land mass out of nowhere, that certainly has my attention. So what brings you here?"

Santa Destroy

Axton was slowly starting to get a clear picture of what the deal was here. Apparently he'd ended up walking into a meeting of some kinda underground group of some sort. Still not sure what exactly they did, but hearing the drunk chick refer to em as UAA killers, and given the state of the bar, it was clear this was not a group the normal man would wanna mess with. And now they were planning a takeover.

Axton was also sensing tension between Travis and the red eyed chick. Probably had a history of some kind. Girlfriend? Siblings? Hard to tell. But, curious as he may have been about that, he needed to make the pitch to someone, and this lady seemed like his best bet here.

"Er, I'm not an alien, least I wasn't last time I checked. But, ya, I'm from the future, or alternate reality, or whatever ya wanna call it."

"To make a long story short, your city, my city, and a whole bunch of other cities have been yanked off of wherever the hell they were and thrown together on one planet. Yes, I know it sounds insane and idiotic, but I'm gonna need you to take my word for it here."

"I'm here because I'm looking to team up with whatever new neighbors aren't insane and/or hostile. I was telling the lady I bumped into on the way here, we got a city of a few hundred people who all have guns and know how to use em."

"I'm not sure of the status of your city and whatever armed forces managed to get pulled along with it, but we can provide guns, supply's, whatever you may need. All I'm gonna ask in return is that you don't go trying to attack us. I'd prefer to save my bullets for the probably hostile non-human cities that are now around."

Youkai Mountain - Moriya Shrine

"Hah," Suwako mused. "Well, we are gods, that is true. Gods that grant blessings and boons and inflict curses and misfortune."

She waved her hands in an overly childish manner.

"Don't worry though. We're reasonable people; well, I am at least. Anything else? Or can I get to the favour?"

Melior/Youkai Mountain

Hatate's trip home had been uneventful. Still, it didn't need to be. Flying was fun and relaxing. It also helped the thinking process, or so Hatate believed.

As Youkai Mountain came into view, she slowed down and started on a lazy circle around the the thing, the canopy of the dense forest of Youkai rustling below her in the wind.

Maybe she would spot something interesting.

Gates of Gunsmoke

Wormwood's suggestion surprised Marcia. Indeed, thus far she'd be progressing as if there was no other alternative path of action. But there was indeed the choice of not going through with it. To go home, and let these gates to troubles stay closed. From what Nicholas had told her, their way of life was one of difficulty, pain and death. Would it be better to pass on, and place themselves outside of their troubles?

But what would she say? That their neighbours are dangerous and insular, and with that unapproachable? Would she be able to stand in front of Queen Elincia and say that she did not dare meet with the rulers of the city, because she was afraid? The gun and bullets were burned into her memory, a simple thing capable of so much death. Would she run away because she feared that whatever shadow of death that had coated their hearts and which she could see in Wormwood's eyes, might seek out Melior next?

What would Queen Elincia do?

There was truly no choice.

"...I'm grateful for your advice, master Wormwood. But our Queen would never forgive me...no, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for turning back now. I'm sure this is what Her Majesty would have done in my place, and what she would she for me to do."

If this was truly a land of death and need, where the people were used to violence and distrust, then it was imperative that Marcia met them with peace and kindness. Even if it meant dying for it. It might not have been the order from Sir Geoffrey, but it was her duty as a Knight of Crimea and of Queen Elincia.

Iacon: Metroplex Laboratories

Botanica surveyed the little Flea Man, taking in every detail.

"Optimus Prime? He is very highly sought after for one of his rather meagre status. Still, whether he likes it or not, he has been thrust into the spotlight. Very well, little one. If you are here as a diplomat, then you shall be treated as one."

She gently releases the seal, and sets the cannister down on the floor. Wheeljack and Perceptor watched, anxiously.

"It is my privilege to welcome you to Iacon," said Botanica. Optimus Prime is currently on a mission from our Supreme Commander Ultra Magnus, but he will be reporting back when the sun rises. Please, is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable during your wait?"

Iacon: Omega Hangar

Optimus and Bumblebee met up with Ratchet and Bulkhead, and the four bots quickly got to work excavating their ship from the ruined hangar structure. They would work throughout the night, bringing the ship back to optimum functionality.

Marisa - Big MT

Marisa was quickly starting to lose her momentum in the race now that she had wasted her boost, however, she was more concerned about Tails falling asleep while flying than anything else. Well, at least if they started falling she could probably save them.

Shovel Knight and Kanako - Hieda Household

The maid then guided then to Akyuu's room, where she was doing her typical writing.

"Ah, Miss Yasaka. I have already been told everything, what brings you here, with the menreiki, even?" asked Akyuu, looking at the goddess but then noticing Shovel Knight's presence "And you...?"

Envoys - Human Village

The envoys would soon come across the Hieda household mere minutes after Shovel Knight and the other went in. The door was closed, but they could always knock.

Miko - Ilyria Castle

"Yes, I've gotten the message as well. It seems like the games are starting tomorrow." said Miko, sighing "Anything is possible, so we have to brace ourselves for tomorrow."

Grant and Sypha - Human Village

The couple exchanged looks, they both still seemed a bit suspicious, but they were going to give the benefit of doubt.

"All right, I can guide you to a nearby inn." said the man.

"I... I have other matters to attend to." said the woman, looking rather concerned about her husband, but she figured she probably should warn Akyuu as soon as possible.

With that, the woman walked away to the Hieda household and the man began leading the way for the pair.

Shovel Knight / Hieda Household

"Greeting miss Hieda, my name is Shovel Knight, your new neighbor. I just thought it would be best to come introduce myself and do a little exploring." The armored man said cheerfully.

"I trust you and your village are ready for the event tomorrow?"

Illyrian Envoys / Armor Outpost

Shield Knight listened carefully as the document was read aloud and pondered the possible implications it held.

"Well," She said finally "I'm unfamiliar with Illyrian law, but overall it sounds like a fair deal. I'm sure the merchants here would be glad at the opportunity to trade again, and the assurance of assistance should war arise would be much appreciated. We don't really have an army, as you can see, but we should be self sufficient soon"

"I would like to know a little more about your king, In your own experience that is." She glances out one of the windows "Ah... But it's getting late. There are plenty of rooms upstairs if you'd like to stay the night"

"Go to the...shrine? I think that sounds nice. But..."

The middle-aged envoy folded up the parchment, storing it once again.

Then the million-dollar question came. Shield Knight had just queried on the nature of their king. It was then that the female envoy realized that she had to drop all formalities and be honest and clear. That's what Ky, idealist he was, would recommend.

"I cannot claim him to be the perfect ruler. He is...an idealist. One with lofty goals."

An idealist. A visionary, his more loyal followers claimed. A boy scout, a name his one most vocal detractor had bestowed upon him.

"But if I can say anything good about him, it is that he will not let suffering go by unchecked. He will provide for your people."

And with that, the envoy finally relaxed her stance.

"Thank you for the offer, we'll take it. We may be staying for longer than just tonight, after all."

For reasons of surveillance? Or for keeping tabs on the Armor Outpost folk? No one could say.

Miko / Illyria Castle

Ky's expression stood resolute. He would prepare himself for what was to come the next day, like it or not. He stood up from his seat, slowly.

"Then I suppose our plans for now are settled. Do you plan on returning to your village immediately Miss Miko?"

Sonic and Tails - Big Mountain, Crater's Edge/Angel Island, Master Emerald Shrine - A Winner is You

The broomstick and the plane had crossed the "finish line", with the Cyclone in the lead. With Angel Island dead ahead, Tails was still awake enough to position the plane over the shrine and transform it back to its mech form. Sonic had no intention of being grabbed by the arm a second time, and jumped off the Cyclone's tail once it had reached the shrine. Both the hedgehog and the mech proceeded to make a three-point landing (with the mech slowly hovering down to the ground, unlike Sonic, who seemed to be no worse for wear because of it).

With the fox and the hedgehog back on solid ground, Sonic had a few things to say to his li'l bro before bedtime. "Tails, if you didn't feel up to flying back there, you should have told me. I don't know about you, but I don't like the idea of nearly losing you three times today, especially when two of those moments were partially my fault." While he knew that the Trauma Harness that attacked was almost certainly something that came over from Big Mountain (either on its own or through Klein's influence), he felt guilty for leaving Tails with the Think Tank but with no supervision, and for starting a race with Marisa that Tails was in no condition to fly in.

Tails replied with a partially-yawned "It's okay, Sonic. I know that you were trying to get to me back at Big Mountain, and that I should've told you I was getting drowsy. But you got there before they would have hurt me and not flying quickly would have exacerbated the sleepiness problem."

Sonic sighed at his friend's rebuttal. "I know, Tails. I just worry about you is all. I know we can handle ol' Baldy McNosehair any day of the week, but this Battleworld thing isn't like anything we've been through. These worlds are different than ours, and I don't want to lose you because we weren't ready or because I did something stupid."

Tails responded to this with a hug, assuring Sonic that everything would be okay. With each of them saying "goodnight", Tails finally fell asleep in the Cyclone's seat. Sonic waved up at Marisa to indicate where she could land.

"Hey, Marisa. I think I'm gonna conk out in a couple seconds, so this thing you wanted to talk about is gonna have to wait 'till morning. But if you want, you can spend the night here." With this, Sonic yawned one final time before lying down on the grass and closing his eyes.

Knuckles and Rouge - Sanctuary, Tannis's Lab - All Dressed Up and Ready to Go

With Axton having "hung up" the ECHO conversation, Knuckles decided it was high time to get out of Tannis's hair. Luckily, Rouge had found the outfit in question. Although she was disappointed with how ragged it looked and how tightly it fit on her (to the point that her wings were bound inside it, and she crossed her arms over her rather large breasts just in case the outfit began to rip), she was at least satisfied that it hadn't been vomited on (that she was aware of). She threw her catsuit (and breastplate) at Knuckles' feet.

Knuckles picked them up off the ground (taking care not to get anything on him) with one hand while his right arm was wrapped around the Master Emerald. He turned to Tannis, saying "Thanks for getting us in touch with Axton. Sorry about the mess." The echidna and the bat then left City Hall behind.

With Rouge unable to fly in her current outfit and Knuckles stuck carrying both the Master Emerald and her clothes (which he was planning to have washed in one of the island's natural bodies of water once they got back), it would take them until morning to leave Sanctuary, traverse the Red Mountain range, and return to the shrine. Hopefully once it was back in place, the island would take flight once more.

Amy Rose - Angel Island - Friendship? Again?!

Amy seemed pleased with the fact that Dizzy was open to waiting until her friends returned. With this, she led the half-Gear back to the shrine of the Master Emerald. Once she got there, she saw that Sonic and Tails had already arrived and were fast asleep. With no reason to remain on the island, she pulled her Piko-Piko hammer from nowhere and used its handle to write a message in the dirt.

"DEAR SONIC, I JUST MET ONE OF OUR NEW NEIGHBORS. SOME OF THE ANIMALS FROM ANGEL ISLAND HAVE MANAGED TO GET LOST IN HER HOME. I'LL BE HELPING HER HERD THEM BACK HERE. BE BACK SOON. LOVE, AMY ROSE."

She turned to winged half-Gear and whispered, wanting to make sure Sonic and Tails didn't wake up. "I'm ready to go when you are, Dizzy."

Santa Destroy - Death Match Bar

Jeane gave Axton a scrutinizing look over. She was willing to believe the part about cities being pulled from random places and being thrown together. It made as much sense as any other theory for the world changing as suddenly and drastically as it did.

The fact he was so eager to form an alliance worried her however. Negotiations were always about trying to fuck the other guy harder and more discretely then they were fucking you, all so that you walk away from the table with more then you were bringing. What he was offering was too open, too generous. Chances were that he was either screwing them over in a way she couldn't see or that he was in a desperate enough position that he couldn't afford to play around. From what he saying about his new neighbors, money was on the latter. That meant Santa Destroy was probably in a same position.

"Okay. You don't give us a reason to, we won't attack. I'm sure we can work out a sort of trade for goods. Don't suppose you use US currency where you come from? Doesn't matter, we can work something out. Details will have to wait til morning, after we have taken a proper inventory. Any cooperation beyond non-aggression will have to be discussed, but I am willing to scratch your back if you scratch mine. I saw you talking on a hands free device earlier. Are future communication devices compatible modern phones, or do we have to figure out another way to keep communications open?"

Travis was merely staring intently at nothing in particular. His hate for the woman had not changed, but hearing her take the initiative on what he was already trying to do made his lust for vengeance seem petty. Santa Destroy needed a leader, and it certainly did not seem like it was him. Still, he had no intention of abandoning his quest for vengeance, but that would have come at a later time when she was expendable. As he spoke to Jeane, he refused to look at her.

"We got two more neighbors in the north, a human village and some place called Zaofu. There is suppose to be a mountain to the west but I didn't see shit while driving. Mountains do seem to be south of us though."

Jeane gave Travis a glance, simply silently taking note of his reluctant acceptance to help rather then defy. She then turned her attention back to Axton.

"It's getting late and any further negotiations would be better after I have settled everything tomorrow. Need a place to stay the night? I think Travis knows a of a motel."

Grant and Sypha, Human Village

The pair would follow the man wherever he led the two.

"I'm Grant Danasty and this here is Sypha Belnades," Grant introduced himself and Sypha to the man. "Thanks for helping us!"

"We came from the land north of the land of metal giants," Sypha explained to the man. "We cannot exactly return back without having to hide from the metal giants."

Flea Man, Iacon

"I'm fine for now," the Flea Man said, quickly leaving the jar while the opportunity presented itself.

Axton shrugged at the mention of phones. "I don't think so, no. I'd give you a spare, but I don't have any on me. If you guys got a spare phone around somewhere, I'll take that."

He then considered whenever or not to stay. Again, he hadn't been planning on staying the night, but the situation here was apparently a lot more complicated then he expected. Not much he could do about that, and driving back to sanctuary just to have to come back here tomorrow would be stupid.

"Ya, I guess I'll crash at the hotel for the night if you're offering."
